TrueAce
How much longer does the playerbase have to wait for these to not be faction restricted. makes zero sense. if you really want them to be then make black core versions faction based and the regular ones craftable. LordRelyks
Yea, how much longer. Not like this game has been out for 2 months, been about 7 years now.
Kaphik
What nerve, each faction having unique items that the other faction can't get! It's almost as if BioWare is actually encouraging us to play both factions! Preposterous!!

If you was in beta you would know that they were not faction restricted then. This change was made when game went live.

Blotter
If you was in beta you would know that they were not faction restricted then. This change was made when game went live. Your point? THey made a design decision that impacts nothing but aesthetics. Yuo want a cyan/purple lightsaber but are on the wrong side? Roll a toon on the other side. Uniqueness and identity for each faction are important, even when it comes to appearance and aesthetics. Everyone being able to get the same everything turns the game into generic red team versus blue team garbage.

BenjaminminU
So is there an actual reason in the lore why Jedi can't get purple crystals? Honestly I wanted to go and finish act 1 of my knight story and as part of my character's story he set his first lightsaber aside to construct a new one, and I really wanted a purple crystal but couldn't get one
Thundergulch
Hopefully they will not remove the faction restriction. If you want Rebel stuff, play Rebel. If you want Imperial stuff, play that faction. /thread
IasonEvan
I didn't know Mace Windu was a Sith. George Lucas did an awful job conveying that in his films.

eklipzze
If they are going to make faction-specific crystals then they should at least do it right. Purple should be republic but apparently the devs didn't watch the movies. One jedi used a purple lightsaber and ZERO sith used one.
HanzoV
Wait, are they faction restricted or force alignment restricted? Because that isn't the same thing. Edited February 9, 2012 by HanzoV

eklipzze
As a Sith Warrior, may I wear your Jedi robes, also? Some things are going to be faction specific, zzzzz But some things aren't specific to the right faction.
ptwonline
The only reason this is an issue really is because purple crystals are very, very much desired. They simply look really good. Lightsabers are an iconic Star Wars weapon and the only really noticeable to modify it is the blade color. If yellow or orange was restricted I don't think many people would give a flying fig. shadowrouge
I didn't know Mace Windu was a Sith. George Lucas did an awful job conveying that in his films. How so? He was the real Sith lord and hide it well to throw every one off to route out his rival but didn't count on Anakin getting in his way ROFL
HanzoV
Hindsight being 20/20, and all that, I'd say give the Jedi (and Republic) every color but red. Maybe that would help balance out the factions a bit. Edited February 9, 2012 by HanzoV
Sytha
I love the fact these two lightsaber colours are faction restricted! Alot more issues have to be resolved WAY before this lol
eklipzze
Has anyone here offered any proof besides the movie? Where's the OLD republic lore, hmmmm? Looked it up and several Jedi used purple in the books as well, such as Mara Jade Skywalker, Ki-Adi Mundi, etc... But the movies should be more than enough proof. lol
