  1. HAHAHAHA. No it wasn't. This game was rebalanced around PvE and that's it. There are serious problems with PvP balance that need to be addressed and not admitting it is not being serious. There was almost no testing of the changes as they effect PvP. BW blindly insisted on doing everything the way they wanted without regard to player feedback. Beta is nothing more than bug testing to them and community response is nothing more than background noise because they're too proud to admit when they've committed an epic fail. The subs numbers are forcing it on them now and they're likely to be even more petulant about it before they finally cave and do things like give us transfers, etc. And BTW, anyone who thinks total healing is indicative of effective, efficient healing needs their head examined. It gives no indication of whether the person came through in clutch situations and it certainly gives absolutely no indication of the absolutely ridiculous misery of being a healer and trying to win a duel. If you think that any class shoudl have the problem of needing to be babysat and unable, or at least at severe disadvantage, in a 1v1 duel with any other class, then please see previous comment about needing your head examined.
  2. Obviously his signature said "50 Marauder, Sentinel..." so he's just another bad player who likes rolling FOTM and wants more advantage for his OP faceroll class.
  3. Also, I find it somewhat odd that this is the case. I mean, I can generally get my first medal in Huttball, for example, within like 3 seconds of the first screen door dropping because someone on my team got nipped by the fire trap with my bubble on them while running into position....so the game is clearly capable of detecting it. Now I begin to wonder whether it was a purposeful decision on BW's part to make them unlogged
  4. What the heck good is the parser information without the bubble being included in the healing information? I mean, this is totally ridiculous BW. Seriously. What made you think skipping it was appropriate? Whatever ID tags allow parsers to recognize a Resurgence versus a Dark Infusion and report them...that needs to exist for Static Barrier too or the combat log is entirely useless for Sorcs/Sages healers. The bubble is an instant cast, set-it-and-forget-it damage mitigator that cannot overheal and absorbs 3000+ damage. IMHO, it's one of the most ridiculous heals available to us (even though it proves somewhat less useful in PvP than PvE). But, of course, it also initiates the GCD. Therefore, a healer doing his job well, but whose play style relies more heavily on keeping people bubbled as much as possible...as opposed to, say, someone who conceptualizes it as only an emergency thing...that person is going to look, unfairly and inaccurately, like his HPS is low in comparison because all the damage mitigated by all his bubbles doesn't even show up in the analysis. USELESS. People trying to determine if they use it enough or should use it more or whether the bubble is good in certain fights versus a different rotation, etc....they can't do that because the data simply doesn't exist. Now, we can all argue all day long about whether bubbles should be spammed or used sparingly in favor of some other heal, but we've no real way of knowing or learning anything about the best way to use our bubbles, how effective they are in certain fights, etc., other than theorycrafted fuzzy math and peoples' argumentative opinions BECAUSE WE CAN'T MINE THE DATA. Personally, I've seen amazing healers from both schools of thought, so I think it's really more of a style thing when you're talking about someone who really just knows their class and has good reaction times and awareness. To be fair, I admit that I tend to be bubble-centric myself, so yeah, I have a little bit of vested interest here, but this should be something that ALL sorcs/sages want as part fo the combat logs, so we can ALL learn from it. Who knows...maybe I find out I should use it less or maybe we find out it should be used more....dunno until we have the data, which is currently hidden from us.
  5. Ah, well, that pretty much renders them useless for sorcs/sages as far as I'm concerned. I've seen several different play styles from good sorcs, some which rely heavily on the bubble and some which conceptualize it as more of an emergency tool...others somewhere in between. Someone relying on it heavily is going to post lower numbers and HPS than the latter if the only things considered by the combat log parsers are direct heals while ignoring bubble usage statistics. That kind of incomplete picture renders skewed logs that are virtually useless for someone who is wondering whether they should use the bubble more or use it less. It initiates the GCD, and it's part of the healing output rotation, so using it without it registering and identified in the combat log lowers the HPS reported by the parser. And yet, it's essentially an instant set-it-and-forget-it heal that cannot overheal and mitigates 3000+ damage...so it's one of the most delicious and effective things a sorc/sage healer can do. In my opinion, it's a significant part of the rotation and its absence from the combat log parsers makes them very uninformative for us. Not that it's your fault, because the parser is honestly awesome, it's just another complete mess up from BW...this time on the combat logs...so I'm just posting this on the off chance BW reads this and actually recognizes that I'm right hehe
  6. Why am I not seeing anything for Static Barrier in the healing logs? Dark Heal seems to be coming up missing too in a lot of cases. Yes, we can all have a wonderous debate about whether Static Barrier is really a "heal" or not, but the reality is, it contributes significanlty to damage mitigation and should be reported, whether yuo consider it a "heal" or something else. Otherwise, one has no way of knowing how effective their use of it has been and cannot use the data to improve. A person who relies heavily on it versus someone who barely uses it will show up on the log as having lower HPS, but may have actually mitigated a lot more damage overall.
  7. No. Analogy fail. If you want to go there, it's more like a rogue stealthing up to the flag in WSG and then getting to stay in stealth with an invisible flag while running it back to his own base...only to reappear once the flag gets capped and he starts attacking someone. There are work arounds for this problem, it's true. Suggestions that include increasing stealth detection if available or casting AOEs....those can help. BUT, the fact remains that it is NOT the manner in which the developers meant for capping the bomb to work, which makes it a BUG that needs to be fixed so that initiating the bomb capping timer pops them out of stealth. Edit: Ah, just saw the post about it being a spawn bug...so even worse for people pretending they get to tell people to L2P. Broken game is broken. Learn 2 recognize it.
  8. "What's killing SWTOR?" Two words: developer hubris.
  9. That's what they get for not listening and instead just arrogantly making changes that we warned them about. I was a big defender of the game until 1.2. After that, the developers proved me 100% wrong for defending them and proved that they have their heads firmly wedged in their backsides. That they've put off transfers or mergers so long out of prideful denial and wishing to avoid bad publicity is just the cornerstone of all the problems...and it made it ALL far worse that they chose to lose subscriptions instead of losing a little face with the transfers/mergers.
  10. My sarcasm only made sense if they were marauders pre-1.2 as well. Ergo, you just failed trying to rebut it.
  11. BW plays marauders..that's what was so bad about pre1.2 balance as far as they're concerned :-)
  12. Probably the most accurate theme music post-1.2:
  13. LOL...regardless of whether I agree about Mara, Sorcs, etc being OP or needing nerfs or whatever....that video is still funny every single time I see it hahaha
  14. I doubt it. Past behavior is prelude to future behavior. BW's unmitigated arrogance regarding almost everything to do with 1.2 tells me that there's no re-balancing coming at all in the near future. They either truly believe they got it right OR will force us to live with it just out of spite while they work on things that have more to do with marketing the game than enhancing the experience for people already playing.
