4h. downtime... a SATURDAY???

Well they certainly don't consider the EU when scheduling downtime, that much is certain. It's obvious they ONLY consider US players because the downtime happens when most of the US are asleep.

All of the devs live in the U.S, correct? The devs are the ones that implement the patches? So you want the devs to work 24/7 during patch days?

I understand that hiring ppl for EU time zones will be optimal, but it will also take a ton of training.

Curious to all here complaining about U.S/EU time frames, did you all really sit here the FULL 4 HOURS QQ! If so, that'd be hilarious!

They say a picture says more than a thousand words...

The reason for the patch given in the patch notes for 1.1.0c is void.

We have more lag, more latency, and not less disconnects leading to the char select with a broken client that requires a complete restart to get the game back into playable condition.

What time do you think the US Devs currently do maintenance? I'd be happy for them to work normal hours.

and no, I post in the forums during loading screens.

Erm.

Dev = developer. I dont know for sure, but I doubt they actually do the server updates, they arent the manual labour techies.

Secondly, it would be impossible for everyone to have been here QQing because they shut the servers down when they do patches.

Thirdly, I didnt have anything better to do/ anywhere else to be, I had to sit through 4 hours of kids TV with my daughter.

Sigh.

Spending 4 hours with nothing by childrens TV on is the bad bit.

Spending 4 hours with childrens TV on mute, with SWTOR going with my daughter sitting on my knee giggling every time I make something go 'boom!' is the good bit.

(and before anyone says, take her out then, or play with her or anything smart like that, shes been really unwell for the last 2 days and shes not up to doing much at all.)

I don't care about the ton of training, I don't care about the cost issues, these are BioWare's issues, not mine. I expect EU servers, on a game that was OFFICIALLY released in the EU, to be maintained at a time convenient to EU players. That is what I expect. I expect AT LEAST what the competition are offering, and that's what the closest competition to SWTOR offer.

If BioWare aren't going to provide that, then they should have the balls to come out and say it. The biggest issue I have with all of this is the silence. They have been totally ignoring this issue ever since launch. There have been thousands of posts on the matter, and BioWare have nothing to say about an issue that is clearly a concern for many people.

I would have more respect for them if they just said "EU people, these are out maintenance times, we will not be changing them". As it stands, I have zero respect for them, because they do not have the decency to even acknowledge the EU players by making a statement of some sort.

Next, Did any patch actually happen?? When I logged on just now, there was no patch? Does that mean they ran into a big issue and didn't apply the patch? Does that mean we are going to hear about it again the next day and suffer through another weekend loss.

Would love to hear some true response from bioware. I won't be quitting over this, I love the game, but would love to see some caring response from bioware.

Next, I really think it is so poor they lock down the forums during any dowtime.

That's a good point. I agree. As soon as they go down they lock there web site down as well.

That is poor and we know they only do it because they know what they just did and decided not to care. They know they gave no notice. They know it went for longer then they said it would. They know they screwed 70% of the worlds players out of game time.

I wonder how much they save in bandwidth costs every time they shut the servers down.

Get the patch's right - test them over and over. Then rollout. So we don't have to re patch 3 days later.

Sometimes I wonder what happened to the people EA/BW hired for the support center in Galway (Ireland) and the servers in Dublin (Ireland).

The job offers have been all over the place here.

Clearly that's not the BioWare way. Beta was rushed, not enough time to test. Launch was rushed, game not tested enough to launch. Patches are rushed, and clearly not tested enough to roll out.

What is the point on putting out a patch on a test server when characters cannot even create a max level character to test the patch?? Do they really expect players to level to 50 on a PTS? Are players likely to invest more time levelling on the PTS than in the live game?

Dumb.

First of all I'd like to point out, that it's me paying you not the other way around. Therefore my feedback can be as much as "this system sucks. Fix it". Negative feedback of this sort is all a company can expect. I don't have to tell you how to fix your game. It's your job to fix it then and come up with ideas, that actually make sense. Which you so far often fail to do.

Second of all you really need to tone down your expectations. From day one you disregard any constructive feedback whatsoever, literally [self-censored] your customers in the face. The rage, insults and rude behaviour is the effect of your doings, so deal with it. Dealing with it by deleting posts and closing threads will only hurt you, as people need to vent their rage somewhere. They'll either unsubscribe or start venting on other forums, which are read not only by your current customers, but also the potential ones. That's how black PR works.

Third of all there is no constructive feedback to give in the subject of the maintenance system. It's obviously and carefully planned to cater your american customers disregarding Europe entirely. Server statistics show, that EU servers are a couple times busier during maintenance hours than the american ones. You could at least have the balls to admit it instead of feeding us with your worthless [self-censored] about "performing maintenance in off-peak hours". There's nothing worse than lying to your customers in the dumbest possible way and expecting them to believe it. We feel like you think we're [self-censored]. We are not. Therefore stop pissing us off with your pathetic lies and admit, that you don't give a flying [self-censored] about your european customers, which are basically half of your playerbase (based on server stat graphs). We'd have a clear view then, unsubscribe and watch your pathetic game crumble to dust while playing something we can actually play whenver we want.

Fourth of all today's maintenance was a bad joke. There are no critical updates in your patchnotes, I can see no fixes like "fixed an exploit, which allowed the attacking side to leave their spawn area before the game begins" or "fixed an exploit, which allowed players to run with the speed of light carrying the ball in huttball games". All I see are quest fixes and some class balancing changes. This could have been done any other day, but you had to pick saturday, which is, for a lot of us, the main part of the week we can play the game.

Last but not least you will not tell me how to give you feedback and I'd strongly advise you (trying to be constructive here) not to control the community on your forums like that, because that will only cause people to create unofficial forums, where they can flame you any time they feel like they need to do it. Accept the fact, that forum is a place you can actually check how the playerbase feels. In case you can't see it alread I'm going to give you a clear message: We're pissed off.

Shame I bought 60 days in advance.

Wow, you are mad.

I'll tell you what, I'll compensate for your lost game time on Saturday.

You do the math for me pls.

You lost approximately 4 hours out of 31 days at $15. Keep in mind this is 24 hour days.

Do the math and get back to me with the results.

Also curious what you think about them charging for a full month in February.

What do you mean about charging a full month? They don't charge monthly, they charge by 30 day periods.

The real issue that you couldn't play a game for 4 hours?

Or do you feel bad because the U.S. gets better times than EU.

Either way it's really a meh topic.

Please don't try to make this out to be some super huge conspiracy or it's critical to life as we know it.

Just sad.

Edit:

And I even offered to PERSONALLY compensate for your....lol.....'losses'. Really...

If it's a meh topic to you, stop replying. Clearly you don't even have a basic grasp of exactly what people's issues is. Maybe you should educate yourself before commenting further. I certainly will not be entering into any more dialogue with you until you can show that you have even the tiniest idea of why people are upset.

Actually, it over ran, it was over 5 hours, Just to get that bit straight.

Secondly, its not about money - its about a level of service that can be expected for customers who all pay the same amount (ironically the EU people actually pay more!)

And finally, I dont think anyone is making out that its a conspiracy - its more that they feel, rightfully so, that either EA or BW simply dont give a flying **** about the EU customers. Because anyone who did would at least have the decency to tell us what is going on.
