Let me give you a simple example. A bunch of bio ware people roll in to a meeting. He says were going to setup aus based servers. Everybody goes thats kewl and not a problem. Nobody asked how are we going to get the aus based players on the aus based server. would you not think that would have been a high priority question? oh we dont have character transfers, but were working on it NOW. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN PLACE BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE SEEN A NEED FOR IT IN ADVANCE. ANOTHER EXAMPLE The PTR The prt is a place that biofail setup to test there upcoming or changes to content before it got released live. However nobody can transfer a lvl 50 toon there, you need to lvl it from lvl 1. You can not create a lvl 50 geared toon there. So we suffer a lot bugs with h mode EV and KV because nobody could test the content. Untested content normally results in a fail. I notice they have offered "select" guild access to the PTR at lvl 50, this is good but doesn't result in normal tested play. Hence biofails instances bug out all the time and are some times unplayable, whiles wow instances are bulletproof.

this is true but you need to think it out shutdown and patch the aus servers. ok if all went well then 8 hours later shut down the uk servers. while the uk servers are down the aus and us servers will be up. 8 hours later shutdown the us servers while the uk and aus servers are up. here is the kicker. from what my us mates say the ping to the uk servers is half of the ping to aus server. therefore your argument is null and void just like biofails ula outside the us.

i'am not fused with the law. They kicked every paying customer out of the game to remove some freeloaders from the weekend trial. This makes no sense until you think about the money there saving from there isp while there is no data traffic.

your right except i have not seen any servers at very high for some time and what is the problem with letting people still play on another server while your local servers are under maintenance. YOU SIR NEED TO THINK BEFORE YOU POST

you miss the point 1. I got layed this afternoon. 2. Its friday night 3. The downtime is to remove freeloaders. This could have been done in the next Tuesday maintenance period. I'm sure there presence for a extra few days would not kill the game. 4. The hero engine from what i have read is setup for hot patching. Or in wow terms rolling restarts. or in rift terms a roll out of a patch in less then a hour. 5. If they have servers in country they should be maintained at that countries early hours. This would also be cost effective because they don't need to pay bio wares techs to be on site at 2am cst. This would also let them test the patch and results in the aus servers at 2am est and them if there are problems with the aus server either correct the issue or back out of the patch for eu servers and finally us servers. This would therefore minimize downtime and patch errors using aus as a testbed and therefor reduce overall downtime while keeping everybody happy in all time zones.

you sir are correct. I have sat at my pc and sometimes openlly on vent asked other guild members "What in gods name do you think you guys were doing. This whole mess could have been fixed easy. Bioware knows who is who and who has what toons where. Just migrate everybody's data for toons above 40 to the new servers before launch. Send a email saying what they did and you will find your guild and toons on this server. If you fail to log into said toons withing 2 weeks we will automatically remove them from the aus server. If you do log into said toons they will be automatically removed from the old server. Server starts up. Everybody is happy to fined there toons waiting there more them. Offer transfers once they have sorted out how. Personally I cant see what that problem could be. As it might be to let new players get to 50 then well they would now know there aren't may of them. I didn't see many new person questions last night.

You need to take a look at your system and maybe turn bloom off and anti lazing. I have no problems with lag after i made the changes to my graphic interface

The LFG tool also makes the world a no aaaman's land. Everybody will just sit in fleet and wait for a group pop. Port to instance do instance port back. But here is what happened in wow. Group popes . i would see 4 people from another server. I would be ninja'ed the whole place with no comback. Simply LFG tool is for people looking for the easy way out. I do not want to play with these type of people. These same people will then expect to raid with you with no idea of how to actually play. LFG / LFR makes people bad / lazy players You would get people standing at the start of the instance. Unable to kick them from the group. all sorts of exploits.

That's a good point. I agree. As soon as they go down they lock there web site down as well. That is poor and we know they only do it because they know what they just did and decided not to care. They know they gave no notice. They know it went for longer then they said it would. They know they screwed 70% of the worlds players out of game time. I wonder how much they save in bandwidth costs every time they shut the servers down. Get the patch's right - test them over and over. Then rollout. So we don't have to re patch 3 days later.

Pre nerf - Slicing was netting me credits but mission failures were at about 25%. They should have just increased the mission failure rate rather then fushing the skill down the toilet

Yep less slicers makes the missions you buy on the gah more expensive. In the short term this might not be a problem - in the long term it will cause more inflation because slicing mission drop rates have been Nerfed

You miss the point of slicing Slicing was designed as a crafting skill for people who don't craft. Basically it needs a positive return - not talking about stupid amounts for credits but it needs positive return. I do however notice that nothing is selling on the ah now example what is the point of upgrading my orange lightsaber if a green is better. This nerf has affected people who craft mod upgrades, and hilts. There not going to craft a lvl 19 blue to r/e it in the hope of getting a orange pastern. Why because there is no return on investment. They would no be better to just craft greens lvl to 50 and then possibly start crafting lvl 50 upgrades. But these wont sell because the vendor gear has better stats anyways.

You bet you are The main point of this mmo is that you have CREW that you can send on missions to do stuff. If sending them Costs what is the point of having CREW other then the one guy your using to tank / heal

Ok so here is my story I started with Treasure hunting as my gathering skill. I did my best with it sending out the stupid robot to fail over and over. Sending myself slowly bust in the process. I had artifice and Arch as my two other professions. Even before da nerf greens and blues were been passed over on the GT or been sold below cost. Arch rewards were not been sold on the gt or I was getting better returns from vendoring said items. Why NOBODY WANTED TO BUY THEM. I dropped treasure at lvl 200 becasue it was a money SINK as are all crafting professions. Its cheaper to lvl a alt to do the craft or use a guild member. Why all the gear is BOE. A guildy told me to pick up slicing I did and made 250K in 5 days. That is the money for my mounts and the wifes mounts dso iam happy. Will I be buying anything of the AH now. Anything at all. NO not ever Why would I buy something of the AH that will be surpased in 2 levels by a green. and here is my point. NOW WITH THE SLICING NERF NOBODY WILL BE SELLING ANYTHING ON THE AH BECASUE THE MARKET HAS DEPARTED. People only go to a flash resturant for dinner if they can afford it.
