48 year old clinical pharmacologist here, working as a pharmacovigilance specialist in the clinical department of a medium sized pharmaceutical company. Star Wars fan since seeing the first film at the cinema in 1977 *nostalgic sigh*

My 17 year old nephew is highly impressed that I play SWTOR, everyone else in the family thinks I'm slightly mad.

I turn 55 this year, and love coming home after a day at the office and sit down for 1 - 2 hours playing MMO's. Right now my favorite flavour is SWTOR, through I have played EQ, WOW, LOTRO and Rift. Dabbled in Age of Connan, Guild wars and COH/COV. Once in awhile I will play a RPG such as Fall out or Skyrim, and the new Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning is looking pretty good.

I am a Project Manager/System analyst.

Cheers

I'm a 44 yo school teacher, artist, and writer. I've loved Star Wars since seeing ep IV in the theaters and a gamer since atari pong (when I could peel the controllers out of my parent's hands!) I'm still excited and enjoying swtor and look forward to encountering all of you ingame. XD Edited by Tarashan

To anyone trying to find us ,please log onto Sith Wyrm republic and in the chat pane type

/cjoin older that will put you into our chat channel from there you will be invited into the guild .

Obviously once invited we will use guild chat, ventrilo or skype.Take your pick

You may not have found us earlier because I was waiting for a response from bioware in regard to character transfers .So as soon as I had clarification there would be no transfers I set about getting to lvl 10 along with others from the thread.

I reached lvl 10 today and the guild was born "The Older Republic" I can safely say the launch would put bioware to shame lol smooth as a babies botty.

Within 2 hours of launch we had 15 members ,each member has the same rank and everyone has equal control and say in how this guild functions .To get an invite you have to have read the thread to know about the chat channel so there is an automatic invite from any member. we can leave the channel open until we feel a need to cclose it .

If your comfortable playing in an over forties guild then come on down.

Thankyou very much to all the members that have made this happen .

This is the thread that master papa started to narrow down the selection of the server and guild name :http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=252197

Because I'am from England on a US server if you join stargeezers and not The Old Republic could you add me overunity and my mate ironsider as friend it would be nice to group with you.

Every once in a while it dawns on me that I am teaming with folks that weren't even born when I bought the socks I am wearing. I know this as I often team with my three sons. As a 47 year-old professional who leads a multi-million dollar project for a large corporation, I am sure that many of my co-workers would be shocked if they knew that when I get home I log on to SWTOR and pretend that I am a Master Jedi for 2-3 hours. Not that it bothers me. It keeps me young in mind and heart.

It got me to thinking, "How many others out there are like me?" I'm sure I'm not the oldest player out there. So, if you fall into the geriatric crowd within SWTOR, give a shout out with your age and profession. It will be cool to know who is out there.

Master-Pappy, First off I salute you for stepping up. I fully understand your feelings. I am a 66 year old professional, heading the global Techical Support operations for a very large Northern California high tech company. When I get home, I exercise for an hour, turn off the TV and emerse myself in one of my SWTOR characters. I sometimes name the mobs I am hunting with the name of a particularly annoying customer or salesman. The kill then becomes much more satisfying. That my be far too much information.

i do not meet the parameters of the older republic club, but i found this thread to be very interesting. from someone of my age of 26, it really does blow my mind that some of you were gaming the moment i was born, and before that as well, of course. adults aren't supposed to game!

this reminds me when i found out my boss played gta4. i still can't cope with the reality of it.

I stumbled across this thread and found it very interesting. I'm 49 years old and have been playing mmo's since Ultima Online. I'm currently alternating between SWTOR and WoW and I'll probably keep doing that since I like both games. Since I'm still working my way through the various toons trying to decide which ones I like the most, I may just start a new toon and check you guys out.

Keep on playing and having a good time.

Wow! I think this thread is really inspiring. I have played mmos for a number of years, old swg vet from the beginning to the end. Played wow and lotro for 2 or 3 years as well and getting close to hitting the big 50 I question myself sometimes if I should really be doing this at my age? Then I came across this thread and I was impressed by so many that are playing and even some up into there 70's. I don't know if my arthritis will allow me to do this at that age..........lol. Somehow I can't bring myself to quit and start doing something else with my life. Gaming has been a major part in our family and even my sons' friends will make comments in reference to "Mom" being a gamer. They all wish their mother would play and they think I am the coolest mom around. Now that all my children are grown and away from home my husband and I chose to move to Sweden which is where he is from originally. We moved from the US after he stayed there with me for 5 years with his visa. Now he works and I am a stay at home housewife trying to learn the language. Lol not an easy thing at my age but it's getting there. When the chores are finished I do immerse myself in swtor as does my husband when he is home. We play on a US server Sith Wyrm as most of our old friends from swg are there as well as my youngest son who plays the game . We are all in the guild IOS "Imperial Operative Starsider" which was the server we all came from on swg. Really great to know there are so many out there who are like myself still going strong in our virtual world.

I haven't read the entire thread (going on 35+ pages) and I just stumbled on it.

I am 50, been playing MMOs for years and I still enjoy them.

I became interested in SWTOR because it was Star Wars. Benn playing now since the beginning on Jan and I still enjoy it.

I am not a PvP fan so I stay away from that side of the games I play, but the PvE side has me interested and I will keep going. I am excited to see where the game goes as it developes over the next year.

I am on the server called Darth Xadrex (I think thats how its spelled) and I have yet to find any guilds that are taylored to a more mature playerbase.

I would consider rerolling on a server that has a guild like this if anyone has one that is recruiting. If so then just send me a message in the forums. Thanks.

We have a few rolling on imp side so we may be able to have a game of basket ball ,ermm huttball lol.

38 Year old IT professional here... used to work in consumer electronics retail (thank god I got out of that when I could), and former United States Navy Sailor. I remember tapping away on the keyboard on my dad's Commodore 64 computer, learning what BASIC was, and getting excited at the prospect of changing the screen colors or text colors.

I was three or four years old when my Uncle took me with my Aunt to an oooooooold theater in North Jersey. To this day, I still remember how the opening of the theme song scared the bejeezus out of me when the movie started. Anyways... I digress:

Two kids, two dogs, one wife... I always told my kids, I may get older, but inside I will always be a kid. So yeah... I'm 38, going on 13.

I started out with Dark Age of Camelot and ran one of the largest guilds in the game for a bit (Templars of Valhalla - Percival/Midgard) and I have sort of been spoiled from there. I love the team building aspect of MMO's, and I get the biggest charge out of grouping up with those I know (or trust) and just ripping the ever-living you-know-what out of things.

I played WoW for a while, until the b.net kiddies starting crawling out of the woodwork and taking the fun out of playing because you had to worry about item levels, and how "leet" you were. Where the items/gear was more important than the experience... so I decided to move on to my next abomination... this one...

I have always been a SciFi/Fantasy buff... but when I hear they were doing this, I jumped on the bandwagon with both feet and a rope, and have enjoyed the ride ever since.

Me = 38, female, federal government employee, wife, stepmom, proud pet owner of 2x 120lb dogs and a kitten with a bad attitude...and most appropriate to this thread, a gamer. I play with a group of real life friends all in their 30's and some pretty cool guildies that are friends in the making.

41 year old cloud platform Sysadmin for a Fortune500 company. 2 kids, a wife and a house in that hell they call the suburbs.

Some people like to watch TV when they get home from work, I like to play a light-side Sith Inquisitor. (My wife prefers to play Kirby or Mario Bros).

I think I still have my Star Wars bubblegum trading cards from '77 somewhere in the basement...

I think it would cool to start a guild. I would have done it myself, but think there are more qualified people out there. I would gladly join if someone were to put it together. I have no suggestion or preference on a server.

HERE, HERE!!!!! I would join the "Old Masters" Guild in a heart beat!

42, remember standing in line for an hour and a half to see the first movie. Got the Kenner C3-PO and R2-D2 figures for my birthday that year and have hooked ever since.

My 13 year old son is into the game, culture and movies too he still constantly quizzes me on my Star Wars knowledge. Much to my wife's displeasure I spend most of my non-working waking hours in front of the computer playing.

Been an IT engineer for 20 years now. Was into City of Heroes for years. This game finally drew me away. Would love to start a Guild.

I fit in, 45 y/o IT pro (unix, storage, db, web stack). I work as a filthy contractor scum 6 months a year and spend the other 6 playing games :p

I haven't grouped in swtor yet or joined a guild - I have had far too many bad people experiences in recent MMOs (been playing online games since MUDs in 1990). People are the worst and best part of MMOs, sadly finding the good ones gets harder all the time.

As the (modified) saying goes, you can pick 2 of pleasant, competent and shared play times. How many lovely people have you met in MMOs who don't even realise they are IN a fire, let alone get out of it ;) Or the superb player with a great sense of humour who can only play 10 minutes every other blue moon...
