Bioware: Allow Advanced Class Respec!

Advanced classes are SUBCLASSES of ONE CLASS. AND STOP SAYING DRUID TO WARRIOR IT MAKES NO SENSE LOLLLL

The analogy is fine. Just because a druid can fill the same role as a warrior does not make them a warrior.

So, changing AC would be like asking Blizzard to change your druid into a warrior.

/whisper This is where you say that analogy is stupid.

NO AC SWITCHING.

I didn't choose the wrong class. I like Merc I cannot stress this enough. I like Merc. I just want to see how I would like Powertech.

And you're doing that with your trooper.

It's really a simple thing. If you could have switched to powertech would you have tried a trooper right now?

My trooper is level 4. I planned to level all the different classes to 50. Just not in the near future.

Advanced Class respect only serves to be abused by lazy people. So I personally would never add it to the game. Or make that people pay real money for it.

So people are lazy because they don't want to level their entire class again? Are you serious?

This is the exact thing you do in ANY OTHER MMO.

Except you do it with EVERY CLASS.

Seriously, a warrior in WoW leveled up the exact same way as a priest. Same quests (Like maybe 5 different class quests), same story, same locations.

Not once did the idea to allow cross-class switches get any traction.

Right, and SWTOR's biggest attraction to me was the story. It's not significantly different in most other ways from other MMO's OTHER than it's phenomenal story. That was the biggest annoyance for me with WoW.

But, even so, that's not entirely accurate. Playing an Undead Priest, will give you a much different experience story, voice, landscape -wise, than playing a Blood Elf Priest, for instance.

Shrug. I mean, I'd really like to level my Vanguard too, but I just get irritated with doing the same things that my Commando did not very long ago. So, I am just leveling a Jedi Knight until the story for the Commando gets fuzzy enough that I'll enjoy playing through it again as a Vanguard.

Oh I see even after you pick to switch you have to wait an additional 2 days. I get it.

Yup, before the switch takes effect. It's a.. "casting time"? I guess.. I dunno. Six-month timer starts on the day the debuff expires and the AC is switched. So if I were to change mine now, I'd get a debuff that lasts two days.

-20% Experience (Character and/or PvP XP?) and Credit Gain (Doesn't apply to loot/sales, that'd be unfair.)

On January 15th, the debuff would expire and my AC would switch. The 6-month timer would count down starting that day.

No, it's like changing your druid cat dps to a druid tree heals. Oh wait, you can do that? Hmm..

I'm completely fine with that if it would appease the large mass of people.

You don't seem to care you send Jedi to go slaughter hundreds of Sand People, so why care about something that is needlessly restricting players?

Hundreds of airplanes fly everyday without crashes, so why should we impose restrictive "safety requirements" on them?

Same logic.

Changing TALENTS and changing CLASS are not the same thing.

Please learn how to play MMOs. You can change your talents in this game. You can be an operative that can heal, and then respec to DPS.

Fail.

Why shouldn't they have it here? Its not like there's a different story for the Sentinal than the Guardian. Some people find they don't like the class chosen. Why not let them change - without re-leveling a toon from scratch.

Just because that's the way all the others (except Champion's Online) did it is not a reason to keep doing it.

And if you don't want to do it, then don't - How does the ability to change advanced class affect you?

So remove ACs then?

No, an AC is a specialization. The trees you pick are deeper specializations. That was the point BW made here, they wanted to give players less overall classes but deeper specialization of each class.

Why do people see a statement of "It may change" and assume that it will?

That statement just means they are leaving option open. I may eat a puffer fish. That doesn't mean I will.

I saw that too, but considering it was just a knee-jerk reaction by the guys that would support AC changes I decided it best to not poke that beehive. While I did bring up a "compromise", it doesn't mean I'd be happy to see people switching.

No it's really not, that's like me changing my Marauder's Carnage spec line to an Annihilation one - SPEC TREE not AC Specialisation. Your example would have me change my DPS Marauder into Tank Juggernaut.

My thought about the people who are up in arms is, they want this game to be so completely different than other MMOs they don't want common switching like this to happen.

Which you can do here too!

Scoundrel can be DPS or Heals!

Commando can too!

Juggernaught can be tank or dps!

All I hear is "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I have to roll an alt."

Do you ask for this kind of thing in other games? Would you honestly expect to be able to convert your Warrior into a Paladin?

And if you don't want to do it, then don't - How does the ability to change advanced class affect you?

Because then the choice no longer matters, and I want the choice to matter.

yeah man it's a complete shame we have the freedom to even play video games, let alone be forced to follow the developer's desires. that's fascism, you should boycott this game.
