  1. Yeah, none of the fixes posted in this thread have worked for me. It is pretty frustrating.
  2. It's still a no for me. But I wanted to make a couple additional comments. I canceled my subscription after getting my trooper to 50 and just not enjoying it after the first few levels. The game play is... okay, but the clunky UI makes it hard to enjoy. It gets in the way a lot. And the story for the trooper is pretty disappointing. Possibly because I was very much looking forward to it. I will say that the Sith is better. Gameplay is not significantly different but they feel much better, for me at least, in every way aesthetically. They have a more enjoyable storyline, they have better looking equipment, better voice acting, etc. In my personal preference at least. But still not enough for me to stay. What keeps me in an MMO is two things: community, and aesthetics. For me, the gameplay of the various MMOs are close enough that I don't care that much. It's also my opinion that a well-designed UI is one you don't notice. That is not the case here. This game lacks in aesthetics for me: the worlds feel dead, the "coolness" items are pretty lame (e.g., speeders look like lawnmowers, not a lot of customizability in looks--none in voice, none in your ship looks or layout), no real ability to explore the world (i.e., very linear progression mission-wise), etc. As far as community goes... we're TRYING to be connected, but there's no real tools. There's no guild bank, guild hall, no easy way to help a guild member or friend (i.e., no summoning stones, portals, quick access to your ship, etc...), there's no GOOD dungeon-finder or LFG tool. The whole thing feels unfinished, and unpolished. It feels like a late-stage Beta, but still a Beta. I don't feel it's worth a subscription yet. I'll check in later to see if they've fixed things or not, I hope they do. I really want a good Star Wars MMO. And yes, I realize this post was super long and most of you thought TLDR. No worries
  3. Nope, just canceled. 18 days for them to fix some of the major things. I'll try back later. All the crap that they made worse with this morning's patch was the straw that broke the camel's back.
  4. I couldn't agree more!! Especially the item-moving mechanic. I was already on the edge of canceling my subscription. One small irritation like this isn't enough to make me rage quit, but all of them taken together are pushing me very close to the edge. It's like they're determined to make the game as hard to enjoy as possible. I really enjoy the core elements of the game, but it's all the stupid UI changes that are really irritating me. I compare it to trying to watch a movie that you really enjoy, but the theater keeps making minor adjustments to the seats that make no sense, like moving the cup holder from the end of the armrest to someplace just out of reach, or removing half an inch of cushion, or lowering the armrests so you can't reach them comfortably, or changing the angle of the chair so you can't rest your head against the back and still see the movie.... have I made my point?
  5. I agree with the OP. Travelling is my least favorite aspect of the game. Some fixes, some of which have already been mentioned: 1) Allow the quick travel shuttle to take you directly to your ship. 1a) or better yet, give an ability on it's on cool down that works just like the quick travel but only takes you to your ship 2) I agree about getting rid of the orbital stations. Or at least, only make us go through them once. 3) Speeders 3a) First, for the love of God and all that is Holy, PLEASE increase speeder "speeds," at the very least increase the lvl 40 speeders. There's no reason to pay 210,000cr for a 20% speed increase. There's almost no noticeable difference. 3b) Please allow speeders to work in spaceports. If you're gonna' make us run through the whole, boring, empty spaceport, at LEAST let us ride our speeders through it. I mean, even just putting a quick travel station next to your ship in the hangar would be a start. But yeah, the "terribleness" of traveling makes me want to unsubscribe.
  6. I agree completely. Too bad there doesn't seem to have been any improvement since release despite the significant downtime on maintenance.
  7. I agree completely. That's what I thought it was myself until I tried to log on and saw that all the servers were down. Also, even if people were exploiting something and they fixed it without telling us about it, I think that could have waited until Tuesday with the regularly scheduled maintenance. I also agree with the OP, though perhaps not as abrasively. Whatever their motives for taking down the forums, regardless of whether they have good reason for them or not. When they take them down and don't give any explanation other than some vague "we're fixing problems" answer, it feels like they're saying to everyone "LA LA LA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU, LA LA LA, I'M NOT LISTENING, LA LA LA." Like I said, it doesn't MATTER what the actual reason for taking the forums down. By not addressing it, they're building disappointment at best, and resentment at worst. Neither will build you fans, both will alienate and lose you players. It's PR; if you want to keep players in this day and age, you have to be more free and open with your information. I would blame EA more than BW, but they both seem to take the attitude of "We're too big to fail." And because it's Star Wars and the game is pretty good overall, people will stick around a lot longer when you treat them poorly than in another game. But that won't save you forever, look at the last Star Wars mmo. That didn't fail because it was a bad game, it failed because they treated people terribly towards the end and people refused to deal with it.
  8. [edit]Whoa, sorry, wrong thread [/edit] I will say though, that I have enjoyed the trooper storyline thus far. I disagree with some of the "light side/dark side" options (i.e., some of the options that they call "dark side" I don't think are in the slightest evil, and indeed are GOOD actions), but as a whole I like the trooper. That being said, I am a Vet as well, so the trooper just feels normal for me.
  9. Right, I was kind of replying to someone else, and I think we got off on a different tangent. But this is why I can understand some people's anger at having to reroll to 50 to play a different style Trooper. They essentially will have the exact same experience for the whole 50 levels. Yes, they could go light side/dark side opposites, but even that doesn't allow for much variability. You still have to talk to the same people and do the same plotlines.
  10. Well, no, I think the argument is still valid. I have more options. If I wanted to play an Undead Priest, I can start in one area. If I want an Undead Warrior, I don't really HAVE to play through the exact same area. I can hop the boat and do a different races starting zone and go from there. Sure it's a little more work, but it's not so much that it's prohibitive. And before dual spec, if I wanted to play a shadow priest, vs. holy priest, I could have a different experience.
  11. And that's essentially all I'm asking for. You're very much predetermined as to which planets you'll go to and at which levels, which quests you'll do, etc. Shrug. I don't think it's too much to ask.
  12. Actually, as I stated earlier, they did. In WoW, playing an Undead Priest, was vastly different than playing a Blood Elf Priest. Additionally, there were multiple areas (usually about 2) that were appropriate for your level, until end game.
  13. Yes, exactly! I'd be happy re-rolling if they gave you other options. Divergent storylines, options for other planets to level on, etc..
