Stephen Reid/@Rockjaw: Your EGA tears are not real issues

Not playing early is not an issue. Period.

That is an opinion. My opinion is that im getting ripped off of a launch day experience. You say you have never had one of those, let me tell you the initial mass of people running around is awesome. Now we get to see 5-6 in each zone because they don't want to fill the servers.

Please don't comment about missing something you have never experienced.

For the idiots who say launch is the 20th - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=286#edit286 Devs say otherwise.

Okay, whether you believe he's in the right or not, this is poor community relations. As someone who has worked support, this would have gotten me fired.

Even if you ignore a customer's issues, you never verbally marginalize it. Never.

I cheered when my friend read me this tweet. He is much nicer than I would have been. The uproar from people over the past couple of days has been ridiculous. Reading the forums has made me angry at the nonsense people have posted.

BW should have restricted posting to those who got the invite only and/or banned those who complained. That would have shut people up fast.

Just a first time MMO buyer here. I'm really interested in this game (hence why I preordered it) but I'm a little hesitant about the society in place here. If so many people are reacting so drastically to not getting a game early, when they all know that they will play FOR sure on Tuesday.... then what am I getting myself into?

Let's all act like the responsible adults we are and be classy online. Why join the rest of the trolls?

By the way, I agree that the twitter post was definitely okay to post. Not playing early is not an issue. Period.

It is a multiplayer game. People want to play with friends. And since it is a level based game some will be lv 30-40 when the last players gets invited. This means you will not be able to do low/mid level content with them. And you will have to wait til lv50 before you can play with them. And some also want to compete to get server firsts...

If it was a single player game or a game without levels there would be no problem. And it would be silly to complain. But for a MMORPG a staggered release is not the best way to release the game, IMO.

If it is your first MMO you may not recognize such problems. But perhaps you can think about it.

According to my math they have given just under 500,000 of all pre-orders EGA already. Approximately 100,000 were given EGA on day 1 and approximately 400,000 received EGA on day 2. This means just under half of all pre-orders have already been given EGA.

EGA - Day 1 Estimated Invite Total = 119,260

07/21/11 - 07/23/11 = 19,324

07/24/11 - 07/30/11 = 99,936

EGA - Day 2 Estimated Invite Total = 344,253

07/31/11 - 08/06/11 = 84,671

08/07/11 - 08/13/11 = 60,993

08/14/11 - 08/20/11 = 36,726

08/21/11 - 08/27/11 = 32,680

08/28/11 - 09/03/11 = 25,452

09/04/11 - 09/10/11 = 26,355

09/11/11 - 09/17/11 = 16,778

09/18/11 - 09/24/11 = 23,221

09/25/11 - 10/01/11 = 37,377

Given that the numbers are not exact I would put the estimate of current EGA players at 463,513. The fact that almost quadruple the amount of players from yesterday were given EGA today makes me almost positive that all pre-order customers will be in by Friday at the latest.

EGA - TBA (to be announced) = 475,845

10/02/11 - 10/08/11 = 54,709

10/09/11 - 10/15/11 = 30,283

10/16/11 - 10/22/11 = 57,573

10/23/11 - 10/29/11 = 48,732

10/30/11 - 11/05/11 = 43,779

11/06/11 - 11/12/11 = 54,543

11/13/11 - 11/19/11 = 72,708

11/20/11 - 11/26/11 = 74,916

11/27/11 - 12/03/11 = 15,734

12/04/11 - 12/10/11 = 22,868

I can make up random estimates too... watch

First day - 10 people

2nd day - 58 people

Thus it is likely everyone will play by February because they are inviting 5X the number of people each day. Since i declare there are 2.742642 million preorders.

How did i achieve these numbers? same way you did... pure speculation.

Real issues? Maybe it's not an issue he can help with, but it's not a REAL issue?

Its not a real issue unless you are total moron who can't see the fact that they are getting to play on the weekend . With the old format you would have not been playing until the 18th or 19th . Give it up. If you are crying about the fact that EGA was pumped up to 7 days to allow you to get in on the weekend instead sunday or monday then you really ought to give your head a shake . Besides its a gift not an entitlement that they opened the servers two days early. Go outside. Give them a break quit wasting their time with NON issues and let them deal with REAL issues.

I wish all CSRs had the kahunahs to say this kind of thing to whiney self entitled P.O.S. Ungrateful twits.

So I shall wait patiently for my turn to play and be happy that I got in by the weekend and laugh to myself about you guys freakin out , Go watch angry wowkid on you tube and that sums up what I see in my minds eye while I read these posts.

He has a valid point. People whining over something like this is prevent people, who you know, actually need help from getting their issue looked into.

Bioware knows people aren't happy with the EA, but you know what, its in place. People will get over it.

Id say this about Reid and alot of the mods of this community that obviously think they're more important than the rest of us. This whole God complex as they run around on their little power trips. Lets make fun of the customers that got screwed by our policy as our forums mods and fanboys silence anyone with an opinion about it. This is sickening and that Reid guy? Yeah, he should be fired. Ive been following this game since before we even knew it was an mmo. I've spent countless hours beta testing this game without even a thank you and right now Im on the verge of cancelling this preorder simply because I dont feel like being treated like a second class citizen.

Cry more. I know. Grow up. Mhm. This is not how you treat customers.

NO ONE got screwed by any policy .. the policy was there since the beginning .. if people are too ignorant to read it and comprehend it then they deserve the ridicule

it's really this simple...

policy (pasted on the forums and FAQs and main website since day one)= our color is blue

crybabies = but I was hoping and wanting it to be red ..boo hoo I got screwed ...down with ea and bw ..they won't help me thier customer support really stinks... they know nothing about running a game.. I want red boo hoo ...down with this game the CS is not good because I deserve red because I paid by 5 doller fee, but they didn't leave me a personal voice mail telling me it would be blue oh boo hoo hoo

Or, you know, everyone can learn to have some patience and just wait. The game officially releases on the 20th, anything before that was based on when you *redeemed* your pre-order code.

Stay calm and just wait. You'll be playing the game on or before the 20th. It's a week from now. The world isn't going to end between now and then. Do what most of us have been doing since the game was hinted about.

Wait.

You lose! You are quoting Twitter. I don't care if you are quoting "Tweets" from the President of the United States... the fact that it is the bottom of the barrel that you are pullilng from, you lose all credibility! And this society that has just gone crazy over Twitter... is deteriorating fast!

true, but also not true, when you are in the customer relations area of a business there are quite a few things you cannot say or you will be disciplined or fired promptly, he said those things while he was on the clock, i'm not saying he was wrong just that you cannot say what you want when at work.

he did, quit being so sensitive, it's a disgrace

I love all the people claiming to have worked customer service and bad mouthing SR for his response. If you think that response was inappropriate, you obviously have never worked as a CSR or had your blinders on while you did.

I have worked as a CSR and yes, if I said anything that remotely devalued the customer's perceived issue, whether real or not, I would have to answer for it. Its pretty obvious that you have never worked as a CSR.

There is quite a difference between working as support in 1 on 1 environment and working as CM in a gaming industry... for example if it would be a real 1v1 situation, he would never say that, but on twitter he gets to invoke the sympathies of the silent majority, which is what really counts here.
Could you define the method used to know about which side is the most representative of the silent majority please or is it just an extrapolation ? Edited by EmmanuelFR

It's fine.

I frequently tell customers off. Just last week in fact.

If you cannot make reasonable requests, reasonably, and you refuse to listen to reason... I can't help you.

Maybe if you're in tele sales, or support... But once you're at management level, you don't have to take everything a customer dishes out. "The customer is always right", is right out the window then.
