Lol why? My maul crits harder than Assassinate.

What's to fix?

 

IF it hits, positional req and super slow animation with bad netcode/delay/whatever makes for a bad skill.

 

So yes something needs to be done about the skill.

i have 0 problems with backstabbing people or mobs

 

However, you do have problems quoting the right ability...

 

I agree something needs to be done about this buggy skill... Wasting 4-5 global cool downs on a buggy animation is a huge dps loss and probably one of the more frustrating misshaps in this game :mad:

I'm experiencing this same problem as well, but also with assassinate. The attack and dammage needs to be applied before the animation even starts. Plus, these types of positional attacks should force a location update of your target on the client becasue what will happen with me is that someoen is runnign, I do a low cut to stop them, and attempt to maul, and then i get the

Because when they pop out of their stun suddenly they appear 2m away from where I thought they were (and the client thought they were because the CLIENT allows the attack and does the stupid animation).

 

This is the same issue with assasinate too. I'll stun, and try to assassinate and I'll just stand there twirling my double light saber over my head like a cheer leader but never actually making the strike.

 

Look, I'm ALL for flashy saberplay. I really love it. However, technically it should go like this:

 

User clicks attack.

Client position gets updated for target

Attack Fails

User clicks attack.

Attack Successful

Apply damage

Show animation

 

But what is actually happening is

User click attack.

Animation starts

Attack out of range

user clicks attack

Animation starts

Attack out of range

Client position updated

Client moves to attack range

User clicks attack

Animation Starts

Attack successful

Apply Damage

 

This makes the network latency and ability delay EVEN WORSE. And, I didn't even notice but I'm not sure if starting the attack causes a GCD even if the attack position is invalid. Not srue about that one, but if it's true, jeebuz.

 

 

Makes it really really hard to be a melee fighter, range dps has such an easier time.

it doesnt happen all the time, last night was particularly bad for me though.

 

i would see my maul wind up and then nothing over and over and over.

 

im teetering going to darkness because positioning is everything on a deception assassin and with the latency in warzones and the ability delay, i think i have a kill with assassinate and then people are flinched out of range. it is getting worse not better .

I use maul all the time (it's a huge part of my rotation) and only have problems when I'm not positioned to the side or behind a mob. If I'm positioned correctly, I obliterate things.

Oh that's it, we've all been trying to maul from the front. Damn. :/ It's bugged. It's not 100% bugged, but it's bad enough that at times it doesn't work when it definitely should.
