  1. I was thinking the same thing. He's either trolling or clueless, but bad either way.
  2. Because that last point is personal preference. Based on your gear, would you rather have 1% more accuracy or 50% more chance to get 1 rage per Cloak of Pain? I picked 100% rage builder as I'm still at 106% accuracy.
  3. Amen, brother. Before 1.2 terrible players could shine with Bounty Hunters and Inquisitors all day long, while you not only had to be good, but you had to play your butt off with a Warrior. We still have to play our butts off, but now so do they. Welcome to more balanced pvp, fellas.
  4. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA <cough/> No. Darkeness == Deception == Madness Player1 != Player2 != Player3
  5. Wow, really? Jet Charge? Hydraulic Overrides? Pneumatic Boots? Grapple? Energy Shield? Sweltering Heat? Prototype Flame Thrower? Charged Gauntlets? Superheated Rail + Puncture? Carbonize? Oh yeah, and heavy armor? Powertechs do anything but suck.
  6. Ok, I give up. Does anyone have a link to that version of Bass Down Low (the first song in the video).
  7. Right here: No biggy, you just gotta read the whole thread first.
  8. Godspeed, brother. Tell those sorcs I said hello.
  9. Hey Cup, did you read what the op was asking and why? He wants a Hit & Run spec to harass healers and run interference, not necessarily "top the charts" or kill everything that moves. Also, what the hell are you talking about 31/xx/suchandsuch? Since when was the cookie cutter a "Crazy Spec Idea?" Did you reply to the wrong thread or something? Darkenwolf, no sir, I have not used Lightning Reflexes. From what I've read it's a good talent, but I haven't confirmed it myself.
  10. I would say, give this a try: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#200bIMoZG0bZcMforrkM.1 You get the interrupts as before, but instead of vanishing every two minutes, you can turbo boost every 20 seconds which also cleanses any roots or snares. You also get the extra damage and Force regen from your dots (not to mention Lightning Reflexes).
  11. Indeed. By the way, "uninterruptible" means via an interrupt. Force Choke and Intimidating Roar will knock you right out of Force Lightning. And popping Force Camo as soon as you see three stacks and a lighting bolt is a no-brainer and is guaranteed to give you only that first tick. As an aside I had this silly Darkassin who kept Force Pulling me (as my Madness 'sassin) to him in Huttball this evening. I laid waste to the poor kid every time. You'd think he'd learn his lesson after the second or third time.
  12. "Best spec" == subjective. Like I said, it's anything but common on my server. The annihilation 'rauders there are probably just trying out the FOTM spec or something, because I'm consistently taking their balls. I had one try (unsuccessfully) to take a turret from me last night like eight times before he finally gave up. Poor kid. But yeah, your experience crushing people 1v1 is the same as mine with Carnage. I've never seen another marauder say they had a hard time killing an assassin. :/
  13. How about 8 Concealment Operatives vs 8 Concealment Operatives: "Where is everybody?!"
  14. Dude, this is exactly what I'm dealing with. These tools swear they can solo cap a turret guarded by four 'pubs. :/
  15. Ok, I was just wondering if maybe Empire was FOTM or something and I got a bum deal.
  16. I don't know if this is just my server, but it seems like the Empire players are severely lacking in the teamwork department. I tend to get abandoned defending nodes far too often, which eventually ends up in us losing the node since I can't solo three to five people (i know, i suck). Meanwhile, Republic tend to stick together and fight for objectives. Is this a common thing or am I just on a crap server for Empire?
  17. This is my point about Marauders and why I think server demographics plays a big role. As I said, I use Carnage, which is big damage, right now. We burst a lot harder than Deception and get 100% armor pen from Gore. For some reason Annihilation is fairly uncommon on my server, as are Darkness assassins. The ones I've run across with my marauder didn't last long. The Carnage assassins I run across with my Madness assassin tend to give me some trouble. Annihilation, not so much.
  18. So what dksocal is basically saying is that you should use Darkness. You can ignore him. Since I'm Madness and used to use Deception I'll give you my $0.02. First off, you don't need Recirculation because Crackling Charge makes Discharge an instant. Assuming you'll always be in Lightning Charge that is. Second, Deception always felt pretty Force-starved to me. There's the initial burst from Dark Embrace, but that's not gonna carry your very far when you're dropping dots on everyone around you. This is where Calculating Mind proves its worth. The extra CC from Low Slash is nice and all, but realistically it'll only last a second or two since you should have your dots up at all times. That's why we get the extra two second stun on Whirlwind. So with Low Slash, you're basically giving your enemy free resolve. All in all this looks like it's primarily a hit & run spec. Sneak in, drop a Death Field from 30m, drop some dots, stun 'em and slow 'em, then run away. Otherwise you'll just be dying a lot since you don't have the extra dots or the increased healing.
  19. If you're Darkness you should probably use a shield as you'll need it for some of the talents in the tree. They're basically the same thing except foci tend to have more willpower whereas a shield has shielding ability and absorption. I'm Madness spec, and Im using a shield right now because I found one that is only a few points less willpower than my old focus. I didn't think the difference in survivability would be be noticeable, but it definitely is. I gotta say, I'm loving my shield.
  20. I had chili last night. I'm all farty and bloated today.
  21. This. I barely beat the stupid thing with Vette after dying a couple times. This was back in December so I can't give you a play by play, but I just sicked her on it first and jumped in after a few seconds. Popped all my goodies and went to work. Had to use a healing pot and almost died a third time. Stupid space crabs. Looking back it would have been way easier with Quinn, but I hated him then as much as I do now.
  22. No, it's a sorc killing and anti-stealth spec. Or were you just talking about Huttball?
  23. I wouldn't call it a recommendation so much as a preference: http://knotor.com/skills#Ag4DBx-bosLLCSsySVJaYnJ5iZKaq7LL2gAA Just remember, it's all based on how you like to play. I like to sneak around and I hate being slow, so Obfuscation gets my to points over Dark Embrace (a crowd favorite). Aside from the core talents the build is based around, there's no "ideal" spec because everyone is different. For example, most folks will tell you not to put more than one point in Duplicity, but I like having Exploit Weakness up as often as possible so one point doesn't cut it for me.
