OP needs to spend more time in class and less time playing SWTOR.

You should try it, if you say you are not really struggling with heat then it might free up an extra point for you like it did for me. I don't have any points in Vent Heat, but I do use the ability quite aggressively, meaning it's on CD for the most part.

I'd blame the damage class players in it.

The main fault with your spec is that it relies on you being let to free cast, as you haven't taken any of the CC slots that help you survive - especially since you won't have the DPS nor the actual healing capability to pose a real threat.

I agree with most of what PhatMcMuffins said. As I just came back from a break and I am really undergeared (think EWH level here) I'm shooting around the 1000 HPS range while receiving 400-600k damage a game - I think it has something to do with people thinking mercs are easy kill and once they start hitting you and realize you are not going down they take it as a personal challenge and tunnel you for the rest of the game. The change I would do is take a point out of Critical Reaction (50% is enough for it to proc) and a point out of Critical Efficiency (only way you should overheat is if they let you free cast and overheating then is a player issue) and put those in 3/3 Upgraded Arsenal - there's nothing worse than healing for only 3-4k every 6 seconds because you can't crit.

All this while my commando heals for 4-7k every 6 seconds if not interrupted.

Are you looking for regs, solo ranked or arena ranked? Because I don't think the last one happens all that much here. And ealy ranked solo games are being gimped/thrown by Afk and his merry band of Mad Cuz Bad.

Started playing as commando heals in the beginning, got nerfed hard in update 1.2, thought I'll be alright, devs will fix this. Gave up on commando in 1.4 - devs clearly had no idea what they were doing. Haven't touch it for a year, did /played last night - 51 days (that's a lot for one toon you haven't touched for over a year). Go sorc - more star warsy and chances are because of that they'll be in a better spot throughout SWTOR's game life.

The animation takes too long and it works both ways, sometimes I grapple at the right time but because it takes too long the player being grappled gets behind a wall/pill and does not get pulled to me. So TOR engine determines whether you get pulled or you get pulled against a wall. In a straight line you'll get pulled no matter what the distance as long as grapple was pressed when you were within 30m

This game has been dumbed down so much because of tunneling DPS that you might as well just give every class, profession, player 3 abilities they can use with their mouse and call it balance. I'm sure the OP would be happy then.

Seldomly. I've had the thing you described, but to me it's usually my connection hanging up for some odd reason. Then a clean crash to desktop a couple of times a week.

If you'd ride a unicorn into battle with a ****** sword in hand, you'd probably declare war on anybody.

I don't have a guild and I expect I'll get farmed/ganked while doing the daily, but to me it's funny when you see certain people/guilds avoid and/or run away in a 1v1 or even 2v1 situations but once they get a full group it's testosterone overload (or maybe it's just estrogen kicking in from all the sugar). And a thank you to people that have helped me a couple of times when I've been in a sticky situation.

For pure tanking I'd say Guardians, because of the CC and multitude of leaps.
