  1. "In order to form up for guild activity, you'll need to leave the guild ship." I actually felt embarrassed for BW when I had to tell the guild this the day of release. Ops groups have always been limited and broken outside of the ops phase. How many raid leaders remember these glory days?
  2. I just wanted to confirm that the Amazon 5500 coin purchase still provides the Blackbolt and not the Zonian Monkey-Lizard.
  3. You can earn 80 Basics a week for about 90 minutes work (total) by doing the GSI Heroics on Alderaan and Tatooine. Walkthru for the Republic: Start at the GSI terminal in front of the Alderaan starport and grab Heroic. Scan Shining Star cantina from the top of the steps next to the GSI terminal. If the spy isn't there reset and try again (if still not there abandon and re-take). Take the taxi to the Shining Star, kill the baddie, then legacy travel to Outlaw's Den. QT to Anchorhead, grab heroic from GSI terminal and run it. Once you're efficient at it this takes less than 20 minutes total. Alderaan Heroic = 8 Basic comms/day Tatooine Heroic = 4 Basic comms/day Do this cycle 5 days of the week to complete GSI Weekly = 20 Basics Total haul each week = 80 Basic comms per character This is also a great way to level your rep.
  4. Bad spelling, bad punctuation and bad capitalization in a post correcting someone. That, good sir, is the irony trifecta. OP there's discussion of scaling conquests in this topic: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=756014&page=3
  5. Developers: "Forums, this is an unexpected pleasure we're honored by your presence." Players: "You may dispense with the pleasantries, I'm here to put your hangar size right." Developers: "I assure you my coders are working as fast as they can, hangars are good." Players: "Perhaps we can find new ways to motivate them." Developers: "I tell you these hangars are big enough as planned." Players: "The forums don't share your optimistic appraisal of the situation." Developers: "But they ask the impossible!" Players: "Perhaps you can tell them when they arrive." Developers: "The forums are coming here?!" Players: "That's right BW, and they are most displeased with your apparent lack of hangar scaling." Developers: "We shall double our efforts!" Players: "I hope so BW, for your sake. The forums are not as forgiving as this reply."
  6. Are you actually contending that an intimate guild size is mediocrity? I consider our medium-small guild and the 10 years of friendship we've established as wildly successful. In a system not designed to heavily favor megaguilds we managed to win Nym's Scavenger Hunt on Intrepid. Joining a massive guild isn't the equivalent of success, but it could be seen as the path of least resistance. Having said that, I don't fault the larger guilds and accept that maintaining a modest member count comes with limitations. I'd like to see an opt-in scaling solution. Something like "our guild will never exceed 100 unique members". So our grind is reduced and heck even the rewards could be scaled back too. 'One size fits all' generally indicates a poor product. Sorry I missed this, I find this solution even more attractive than my own. /signed!
  7. Kudos to you OP, I say your reward is to keep those 850 CC. One of your image host's sponsors is a company named GREE.
  8. Wrong forum. I'm sure you don't want replies to PvP topics complaining of broken codex entries. There are more of us. I've been glad to see the fixes but they are coming a bit slow.
  9. I also recently got a similar response. Last month I tried purchasing a 2nd Nethian off the GTN for credits and binding it on a character that didn't have it yet. This did not give me the achievement. However unlocking it for 60CC did work. So I recommend keeping your credits and spending CC in this case. *EDIT* I've discovered a couple other speeders that can only be unlocked with this method. Suddenly I feel like I'm hemorrhaging cartel coins and maybe that's no accident.
  10. I asked this question at the Cantina Tour Phoenix. Specifically, could they be utilized in a useful way once you'd maxed rep. They all seemed a bit disinterested in the question and Eric Musco replied "just vendor them for credits", Ben nodded and Courtney asked for the next question. So I wouldn't expect any change with rep tokens but would welcome one, once maxed they're vendor trash. Voss and space PvE also drop rep tokens.
  11. I fixed that part in my post and clarified LoC, thanks.
  12. The weekly for the heroic space PvE (on the Republic side it's Thanium & Baros) pays 160 comms (if you're holding all 3 missions) for about 9 minutes flight time. The boxes drop rakata energy nodes and alien data cubes as well (probably self-perpetuating power cells too), usually about a stack of 3. For nearly 2 years I paid an average of 3-4k credits each for BCAs, those days appear to be over.
  13. Actually we know exactly how critical chance works. Crafting and missions have a baseline critical chance, based on the difficulty related to your skill level: Orange Difficulty: 10% Yellow, Green, and Gray Difficulty: 15% Companions gain an additional 1% chance to crit every 2000 affection earned, up to a maximum of +5% when their affection is maxed.* At max level and affection all your companions have a 20% chance to crit, add to this any companion-specific crit bonuses to determine your actual critical chance. Example: Running a green Treasure Hunting missions with a maxed affection Vette (+5% crit to TH) has a 25% chance to crit. Taking advantage of your companion crit bonuses is worthwhile, but as you can see Affection and LoC perks are too. *The Legacy of Crafting perk adds another 1% to this, up to 3% for crafting only. Sources: Baseline critical rates Legacy of crafting
  14. One of the most efficient ways to farm Basic comms is the GSI Weekly. It can yield 80/week for ~60 minutes work. Run the Heroic mission on Tattooine, takes 7-8 minutes and yields 4 Basics/day. Run the Heroic mission on Alderaan*, takes 5-6 minutes and yields 8 Basics/day. Do this 5 times during the week to complete the weekly which yields 20 Basics. Total for the week = 80. Run it on multiple toons for even more. * you can see the Shining Star from the steps next to the GSI terminal. If he's not there reset and try again.
  15. It sounds like maybe you don't realize you don't have to remove a mod to install a new one in your gear. Just open it and overwrite the old ones with the new, it doesn't cost anything. The removal fees are a very reasonable credit sink at 50+, your earnings skyrocket at this point compared to when you're leveling. It's the same with crafting and leveling, if you try to level a crafting skill instead of taking 3 gathering skills you can make yourself broke. However at level 50+ the cost in credits to level your craft is a pittance. The above is aimed towards someone on their very first character. If you already have a 50+ you can easily bankroll an alt from the start.
  16. On the Republic side you can farm aluminum in the Face Merchants heroic in the Black Sun sector. Take your highest level toon, kill and harvest all the strong droids, step out and reset, then repeat. Until you have all the aluminum you need or can't take it anymore. This works in any heroic or flashpoint with a lot of strong droids, there's most likely one on DK as well. There are a lot of strong droids west of Kaas city around the bridge as well.
  17. This looks fantastic at first glance, thank you for sharing!
  18. This. Completing bonus objectives in a full group leads to 175% of the xp you'd receive solo. Always complete bonus objectives when grouped if you're after xp.
  19. Blaq Tongue Society Snowgoons if I'm feeling way pimpish. If you can kill to that you can kill to anything.
  20. To each his own but this sounds horrible. Anyone who can stomach doing KDY for 40 runs will get to 55 a little quicker but I have got to have some variety. Oh, I did confirm Slicing missions will return Birthright gear. I received gloves from the mission Mysterious Funds (abundant tier 6 tech parts).
  21. This is a good guide, I don't do things exactly this way but nice job. One note: unless they changed something very recently the planetary questlines of DK/Coru is not required to receive your ship. I skip everything but my class quests and leave the planets with my ship around level 12-15. Assuming you have purchased the related legacy character perk unlocks these are you 3 best XP returns for time invested: Class stories, space PVE, and Kuat flashpoint. I also pick up the exploration perk, going a little out of your way to unlock map sectors is worthwhile. I highly recommend Inheritance (level 14-16) and Birthright (level 29-33) gear. They are better than anything craftable and will easily last you 10 levels. Birthright head, chest, legs and boots can be bought for 50 Classic comms each on the Black Hole vendor. The rest can be received from critting on Treasure Hunting and Diplomacy lock box missions.* They are also bound to Legacy so you can run the missions on alts. Just use green drops until level 14. *you want to run level-appropriate lockbox missions to get these, tier 2 (mission level 17-24) for Inheritance gear, tier 3 for Birthright. The Mainhand drops from tier 4 (it's level 33, the rest are 29-32). Only run rich or discovered (wealthy and prosperous) missions for the best results. Drops are possible at higher levels but those cost more time/credits.
  22. To all the haters in denial who keep bringing this up: No one cares about April or her ****** foosball game.
  23. We have come to terms with the Gunship. We'll learn to live with Bombers. But this Asteroid business has gone too far! /signed by rock paper and scissors
  24. You are completely wrong here. Crafted Elite CZ-127 is BiS for droids. Which, again, do not require MMGs to craft.
  25. Well that depnds. If you run FPs and Ops and have a stash of EEEs/Iso-5s, if you have the Basic comms to buy Iso-5s, if you have UT/Scav, the more of those you have the cheaper they'll be to produce. If you have none of that they sell for ~350k each on The Harbinger. The value is also highly individualized. With ~1k Presence HK will do about 1200 dps in the damage gear (there are players queuing for HM 55s that do less dps than that). The extra damage is aggregate time savings which has real value to me when running dailies or soloing Czerka FPs for example.
