  1. I meant lower the win chance on Cartel Certs by 50% then they (Slot Machine) would have been fine... ...with removal of Grade 11 blue and purple from Jawa Vendors
  2. Remove blue and purple Grade 11 from Jawa Vendors fixes all these "problems" we are having, then of course bring the Slot Machines back to where they where.
  3. Hmm, way more posts/topics on the "new" slot machine then before they "fixed it", LOL
  4. Slot machines didn't need to be fixed (except perhaps 50% cartel Market Certs), what they need to do is remove Grade 11 blue and purple from Jawa vendors.
  5. I spent 500 coins 1 green jawa item 1 purple jawa item 0 cartel certs 0 mount (though i didn't expect it) usual amount of rep items.
  6. The real problem wasn't the drop rates per se, it's the fact that you can buy grade 11 blue and purple!!!!!!!!! They needed to fix the real problem, not the slot machines.
  7. That's for sure, why make minor adjustments when you can completely change something to basically new item/ability/whatever and make them useless.
  8. Your looking at the wrong thing, what they needed to do was remove grade 11 blue and purple items from the jawas, not change the slot machine.
  9. Completely useless now! Bioware version of balance anything -> nerf it to the ground because a few vocal minorities. All they had to do was adjust the drop rate of Jawa Items to something like the following: 70% green 20% blue 10% purple And reduce the Cartel Market Certificate by 50-75% Then, also remove grade 11 purples and blues from Jawa vendors... still missing blue grade 9's but have all grade 11's (blue and purple), WHAT? --------------------------------- What they did: reduce jawa items drop rate by 99% reduce Cartel Market Certificate by 99% reduce all win chance by 70% Increase the cost of coins for the slot machine by 50% Oh wait...they added a mount...with .01 chance of win, and it's probably not even legacy given there is one for each faction. Seriously, the issue was not that bad, you want to fix crafting remove companion gathering missions (green, blue/purple), force people to actually go gather...oh wait, companion gathering missions are money sinks, LOLOLOLOLOL Don't forget GTN slot machine prices -> down almost 1 mil few hours, DON'T BOTHER ADDING ANYMORE SLOT MACHINES to future Cartel PACKS NOW!
  10. No one would get a massive head start at most people will have basic gear when they hit 60 (assuming they have enough basic coms after conversion and question in 3.0), that's not an issue at all. In fact that's what should happen, people should only have to work for elite and ultimate gear. Basic implies the lowest gear for the content.
  11. Completely unnecessary design element, that is only chosen to emulate the "familiarity" of WoW (like so many of SWTOR's design)... ...that sure went well.
  12. The "engine" as you say is what runs the entire game, it can be broken into many parts but in the end the word is often used to summarize all the modules/systems into one item. The quest summary is a system within the engine, how intertwined into it all we do not know, but at its core the mission system is most likely a database call, it is possible that there is a hard coded mission total limit as well, though that could and should also be within the database, if they cannot simply increase the limit then they have some major issues, unless the reason is based on a scroll on the client visual or something. Who knows what the system looks like (internally) but if some thing like increasing the mission totals causes "performance issues" then that explains a lot about the state of the game. comment to another post I would not be surprised if the mission total of 25 was directly related to WoW's 25 limit, designers are still stuck on WoW.
  13. All I have to say with that is if the game engine is that picky and there would be a noticeable performance hit from having more then 25 missions, then the game has some serious issues with the Game engine (which we know it does), database, or coding problems. That is just ridiculous any way you put it. I speak form experience. ANYWAY, Move all weekly missions into a tab like OPS lockouts, and give rewards as they are completed with no drop box. Problem solved and removes most of the drop box missions. Star Wars is set int he future (or a future past...long long time ago) we have datapads, there should be no reason we have drop boxes and mail boxes in the first place. Except the original designers wanted to make the game as familiar as possible to WoW...don't even get me started.
  14. This is exactly why you don't have open world chests. Using open world chests that have guards that need to be killed that drop a key is one option, at least it requires playing the game, but in the end people will just agro the mob first... ...I'm for putting chests on random timers with random locations.
  15. While all the PvPers on PvE servers talk loudly about not changing the PvP flag mechanics, they need to be ignored, if you want open world PvP go play on PvP server (if they can), that's why they exist. Flagging (in open world) should ONLY be possible (on PvE server) if the player MANUALLY flags, there should be NO OTHER WAY. (by manual I mean click portrait and click flag for pvp) Only people who want to grief would object to this. These are the same people who can't cut it on a PvP server in the first place.
  16. The only way on a PvE server anyone should be flagged is if they MANUALLY CLICK PVP ON, there should be no other way (in open world) to flag for PvP, this fixes the flag pvp grief issues...problem solved. Anything else will always leave room for error.
  17. There should be no token stacking on any items, with a new patch ie 3.0 all token items should be bound, no refunds. problem solved.
  18. This is why Level cap games are bad idea, forget level cap go with skills and then all content from the start of the game is relevant and playable for the life of the game without overpowering anything, problem solved...no wasted content, ie leveling content is all wasted once you get past the level required for it in games with level caps. So to spell it out 95% of SWTOR content is wasted on "leveling", that sure sounds like a good use of initial development resources to me... ...classic mmo design(level cap (single player design) style games) need to die, their time is over and has been since WoW was 3 years old. EVENTUALLY, MMO designers will discover this and start innovating after all their games perform poorly again and again.
  19. For PvE longer interrupts where not needed, this is a bad decision, it is a pure PvP move.
  20. They need to move away from the "Bind on ..." crap, this is no longer 2004... Innovation is needed, not the same old classic MMO design, which has been failing for EVERY MMO, except WoW since WoW was released. WoW came out and was such a success all MMO's designers have stopped trying to create something "new" and are stuck in this we must create the next WoW killer by copying WoW, with minor almost non existent changes. Hint, if Star Wars WoW can't be the next WoW killer then nothing will as long as they all try and be WoW clones... ...that's a lot of WoW's, and I hate WoW
  21. This is not entirely accurate, "character" advancement stops when you reach max level, "Stat" advancement is done through gear after that. People always thing gear = character development, but that is not accurate, gear is the way to give the impression of advancement where none exists in order to lengthen the games content.
  22. Better rewards in this case just meant more underworld gear drops and a guaranteed MMG drop final boss in GF ops.. with more people fighting over or rolling over the gear the chance of receiving loot isn't any better. In fact it's worse, since its pure RNG, each piece is rolled on individually (so instead of 1/8 chance you now have 1/16 chance, regardless of the number of items dropped). IMO the wait time and coordination issues with pug's (not an issue with guild runs) is not worth the hassle (for 16man)...
  23. in that case can I also have a functional twi'lek female dancer in my casino...i mean interactable...I mean...
  24. I agree, the medical droids should still be interactable, or have two versions.
