  1. I guess your right, a real version of conquest would be actual new content, something that Bioware is not very good at producing, at least in a timely manner.
  2. There is no real conquering the planet, your doing objectives outside of the planets for the most part to get points that somehow mean you own the planet... Real capturing of the planet would be doing some sort of capture mechanic(s) ON THE PLANETS THEMSELVES... Imagine outposts, bases, depots on the planet that need to be captured in order to own the planet (this can be pve or pvp or both) but the capture needs to be on the planet, not ops, fps, wzs, gsf, gsh, crafting, heroics, etc, capturing objective or whatever could lead to points, but it has to be ON THE PLANET ------------------------------ Also, in the current system strongholds should not give bonus for conquest, all that did destroy the idea of personal housing, as people throw everything they can at the stronghold so they get a higher bonus to conquest. It should have been a nice relaxing non competitive/non combat game system. If their goal was for people to spend mass amounts of credits and or buy CC to unlock everything so they could get their "bonus" then I guess they succeeded. side note: having companion missions to gather crafting resources is the worst thing you can do to game mechanics and the economy, as we have seen over the years. Remove the missions, ad ways to get mission only resources, ie champion monsters = purple (bio) crafting material, or elite monsters = blue (bio) crafting materials, similar systems for scavenge and archaeology for all items, fix so many issues. GSH had the potential and still does to be a non combat game system, something this game lacks. The two should have been completely separate game systems. Not everything has to be f'n linked together.
  3. Personally, I think that it was a bad move to delay, If they had a plan to release info and start pre-orders by the end of the month they should of had everything in the works long before now. I'm guessing they have a feature that they are trying to get into 3.0 but it's on the edge and they don't want to promise something and it doesn't make it then they have other issues, however they should be in late testing/polish now if they want to release by the end of the year. Another possibility is that Star Wars Rebels comes out on Friday and then starts on the 13th and they either don't want to mix them or want the hype from Rebels to try and carry over to SWTOR. Either way, completely holding back all information seems like a bad plan, given the "WE WILL HAVE A FULL REVEAL BY THE END OF THE MONTH" comments. Is it the end of the world or the game? no. Am I going to unsub? no. Am I frustrated and a bit angry? yes. When someone says they are going to do something they need to do it or give em an update worth mentioning, something to tide me over...a progress report and some details is what i'm looking for. Their best and easiest course of action at this point is some images and maybe some info (videos take too much unless they are done), that would completely defuse the entire situation and keep people(most anyway) happy. But complete silence and a "I'm sorry" post doesn't do anything but look bad(even though it's a nice act) and fuel the fire!
  4. In my opinion they should have created 3 advanced classes for the trooper: Vanguard -> Tank Commando -> rDps Combat Medic -> Healer And removed this multi spec part this part of the classes, just 1 skill tree, with double the options for each level in the tree. THEN allow to change advanced class.. yea i know the reason we don't have adv class changing is the abilities since they have to be purchases... In fact they should have done this for all classes smuggler -> sawbones(healer), gunslinger(rdps), and scoundral(utility) jedi are really 1 class split into 2 for "story" jedi knight -> sentinal(mdps), guardian(tank) jedi counselor -> sage(force healer), shadow(force utility), add wizard(or whatever better name)(force dps) same for the sith classes ----------------------------------------------- As it stand now the vanguard can be a tank or dps and the commando can be a healer or dps, but if you choose dps in either class you still have tank or healing abilities, basically creating a hybrid class, there should be no such option. They where designed as single use role classes, but to make the community happy they added the multi tree crap so you had the impression of options. classes turns normal roles into jedi that can't use darkside powers or basic force powers like force speed or throw objects, troopers that don't know how to use pistols, except in cutscenes, i could go on forever then again there should be no classes only roles...no levels only skills...sigh, nevermind, most people who will answer this can't see MMO's as anything but WoW or STOR "trinity" style anyway...carry on
  5. who wants to be Cathar though, that's the difference between selling well and selling very well, no one wanted to be Cathar, except people who just wanted to be different.
  6. I might actually play a jedi character if i could have that, but problem is everyone would be them, they would have to cost 5000 CC or something to limit them. edit: Great i just gave EA the idea, now we will sell 10000 CC yoda characters in Cartel market, unfortunately i think EA will design all mmo's around money markets and MMO's will get less about the game and more about what they can sell, until the game is gone and all you have is a real money market.
  7. Visually identify them is crap reason, considering any character can wear almost any armor now days, this is not a valid reason. Jedi should be able to use any lightsabre/stance, just like non jedi should be able to use any non lightsabre weapon (single pistol, dual pistol, rifle, vibro sword, sniper rifle, etc) Of course, jedi should also not have restrictions for force powers, jedi/sith should be able to learn all force powers...BUT the game is designed around classes, not skills. One day game designers will move beyond classes, we just have to wait until the current designers (stuck in the past) retire, that way games can evolve past the old school designs (classes and level system) that have been done to death (ie wow "cough" cloned over and over)....
  8. Pazaak PvP 100, 1000, 5000,10000, 50000 credit buy ins, casino(NPC or tax) takes 10-20% Sabaak PvP, Dejarik PvP, Swoop Racing (KOTOR style) straight and curvy tracks, daily & weekly best times wins credit pots, and all time best time, Swoop Racing 2 types (like Pod Racing no weapons & like Mario Kart with weapons)
  9. what was the reaction, similar to the forums? ie "that's it?"
  10. We had proof from the FA FP #4, even then this all could be a lie and it's not him...
  11. Showing us decorations that are probably only purchased with CC is does not make a good teaser.
  12. 2/10 no new info, wasn't teaser at all, if they had included a few seconds of an outside shot of a planet or two then that would have been a teaser!.
  13. They said this "teaser" would be last week and it came the week after...I fully expect the same for the reveal this month, but will be 1-2 weeks later.
  14. Knowing BW, including this last "Teaser" that was to be out within the week...last week...we wont get the reveal for 3.0 until next month. The sad truth about these sorts of things is the less they tell you and the longer they wait the more let down it will be. If it was the next big thing, they would have revealed 3.0 to us now, them holding it back is most likely because they know it wont be much and don't want people quitting. You can tell yourself that they are trying to draw out the plan and with bits and pieces all you want, that wont change the facts... ...If they don't have the 3.0 reveal ready to go by now and they are still working on it for more then just polish with 3 months to go, then the update will either be: small - 1 planet, level cap increase(5), new HM FP's, 1-2 ops, few new smaller things or the less likely major expansion - 2-3 planets, level cap increase(10-15), 3+ ops, 3+ new FP (HM are not new FP's), some major new feature, plus several new smaller things. The small option is the most likely one given how long it takes BW to create content.
  15. I tried really hard looked at every corner of the room and the character and did not see anything I didn't already know. If the location is something there is not enough to go on, I could come up will several locations, doesn't mean they are right...this teaser was nothing, since we know his return from FA FP #4. Also, this is typical BW writing (FA part 4) where they write out one of their best ideas (the star forge) before it actually gets any use, same as Darth Malg, JK story, the war itself, etc.
  16. Where he is only matters IF it's an area to quest/explore in, not if it's the location of a FP or OP.
  17. I'm not sure how that is a teaser since we know he is returning from the latest flashpoint...there was nothing new here, somewhat disappointed...
  18. EXACTLY Though i would be fine with a starter deck (free or for credits) and pay CC for other Decks (different back images colors etc), tables, special card decks in CC Packs, etc, as long as they where in collections. I'ld drop 2000CC right away for (full decks) decks and more for CC Packs with random cards for specific (CC pack decks) decks!!!, collect all the cards for your collection deck A, B, C, etc
  19. The problem with MMO's today is the old school Level System (and classes), remove level system (and classes) and replace with very detailed skill systems and you have actual character development that can take years. You also remove the wasted content of level zoning (ie planet x has level 10-15, etc). 90% of all content in SWTOR is uses only to level, used once(per charater) that is a complete waste of development time. Of course the people who can't get past WoW will tell you that level systems, classes, and "the Trinity" are the only way to do MMO's and companies still think that the way to be the next WoW is to clone WoW (with minor insignificant tweaks), it hasn't worked for 10 years, it's time to move on and reinvent MMO genre. The first company that can move past Level/Classes/Trinity will be the next WoW, unfortunately I think that Blizzard knows this and will again be the next big MMO, knowing that other companies are stuck in the past. A few things (just to get it started): 1. character development should never stop 2. character development should not be restricted (with few exceptions, such as jedi/non jedi) 3. alts should not be necessary or a away to extend gameplay 4. gear is not a sustainable character development system 5. level zones are a waste of content 6. a real economy can only be sustained if there is loss... consumable, crafting materials, and leveling equipment is not an economy, nor is cash shop/collections (95% of the GTN in SWTOR example) Anyway, have a nice day.
  20. The simplest solution to this issue is to make ALL planets/player areas (oricon, cz, etc) conquerable ALL the time and disallow a guild to capture the same planet twice in a row. This would spread out the guilds and give even the small guilds the ability to achieve something. That and remove the unlimited PvP and GSF missions for points! This is not the way to get players to do these activities.
  21. It is interesting question considering Bioware handled the "Story" in this game like it was single player, finishing so many paths . The game "that has story" had so many opportunities and possibilities with story and all that slams straight int a brick wall as if it was single player.
  22. Unless you crafted thousands of items there is no way you got those totals, and you cannot sustain crafting in the long term unless you have unlimited credits or time to buy/gather. your argument is complete crap, have a nice day.
  23. Firing QA wont fix the problem, need to fire the game designers who are stuck in the old school game designs. It's time for MMO's to evolve out of WoW style age that is dieing.
