  1. I thought we where supposed to get new info on crafting and companions in a few days, via blogs, it's been over a week. POSTED: 06.17.2015 , 04:14 PM
  2. If we are lucky they will remove the whole companion gather resources missions all together, both gathering and missions missions...that sounds funny.
  3. Again, story can be done solo and is exactly the same every time, exactly, regardless of conversation choices, including LS/DS. Ops are repetitive that is true, but require team work and cooperation, knowing how to play classes/roles and are challenging, they are not hand fed to you and can't be played through regardless of how bad the player is (excluding over leveling, etc). Op's have the multi-player aspect to them that can make things unpredictable, story has no such elements.
  4. It's not individual class story, it's ONE STORY that all 8 classes will share! with few differences based on class/companions. This is NOT 8 separate lengthy class stories, what was actually asked for by the community since launch.
  5. Op's are a challenge (on more then just story mode), story is not in this game (unless you don't know how to play the game). The story is designed to get you through it, laughably so. Again, story has limited replay value, once you've seen it...Ops play out the same sure, but require you to play the game with others and cannot simply be button mashed through.
  6. it's not replay ability at all when the minor and I mean minor LS/DS choices have no effect on ANYTHING. The random quests, planetary quests, and bonus quests are one time and the same every time. Not only that but once you out level the content, there is no point to the content. So, even if you could run it again it would be of minimal value. Replay ability is also in the eyes of the beholder, you might think it's great and can be replayed an infinite amount of times, where I feel at most a couple times, before it has no value to me.
  7. We'll see how long people stay when after 2-3 days people have seen the story (watching every scene) 6 times (and it all plays out 90% the same during the story and 100% the same ending) and there is no new MMO content to keep people playing. Story is great until you've seen it multiple times... ...based on the time frame (6-8 mo) and potential team size (shadow realms/swtor team, maybe few more contracted), and swtor's content to date, each chapter will take < 1 hour to complete (watching everything), they wont do a WoW cataclysm type thing and rework every planet for L60+, scenery and the story continuity, no cross faction (since there are no more factions) for GF or PvP, no new joint fleet, just a story overlay over the existing game, that will not feel immersive because it simply sits on the "old" game. No information is the clue to this, if they where proud of the game they would tell us about it and be showing things off, there is absolutely no reason they can't show screen shots and talk about the new galaxy in the new expansion, unless there is nothing to talk about...trickling out information is part strategy and part clue that there is not much to tell. ...lastly, it's free (to subscribers), it is only free when you don't think you can sell it. In the end, I think the hype will be high, the story will be ok, but the total content/time played will be low. No one pays MMO rates for sub par (length) single player RPG content. Worst of all when it all goes south, they will blame the players because they are doing "what we asked for" and we didn't give them more money.
  8. Story is all fine and good for this expansion, unless I can run through the entire released part in a day or two or a few days, including watching all the scenes. Unless they added a team equal to the original dev team, we will get story that is doable in a few days at most...that will not keep people subbed. I fear they are putting a nail in their own coffin on this one. Listening to what we want...lol metrics...lol they need to hire people who actually play the game to analyze their metrics... All the story only people can be all happy until the game goes under in 2016 because they didn't release timely, high quality, steadily released MMO content.
  9. That would be too good for Bioware's SWTOR, they don't think like that, that would be too immersive.
  10. It's a problem with the game design not the people, people will be people, anything the game allows people will do. Fix the lazy game design fix the problem.
  11. This would be a good way to move into purchasable ships, both credits and Cartel Market. I would pay $20 for a new ship especially if i had options. Obviously you would only be able to buy ships post expansion. Probably not going to happen though, this concept means player choice, money sinks, and makes too much sense.
  12. I completely understand what you are saying and to some extent agree with you, what I am saying is they need to give as much general(semi detailed, enough to answer the bulk of questions) information as possible, then have dev blogs with more specific completely detailed information. It fixes the lack of information and still keeps the hype going.
  13. That's when they need to ignore the ignorant small minded people and continue doing it the right way instead of cowering in the corner afraid to upset those (vocal minority, generally negative) people.
  14. That's how they should have done it, but given the factions are separate still for no real reason (except technical...limitations, lol), they probably wont and we will have the same fleets, lol so much for the story and all, long live the fleet stations...even after the factions are "in ruin and destroyed". Rule number 1: when in a war always leave the enemies main bases and staging points up and functional...
  15. I completely disagree, tell us what is planned or expected, with the disclaimer that everything is a work in progress and some features might not make it into final release. Also, given they only have ~4 months left, they better be well into their release candidate and should know by now what they will release with with a few things on the unknown list, we don't need to know story details, just feature details.
  16. I still think it's too late, they need to get people pumped and subscribed before July 31st gift, not after.
  17. If only they actually had the answers to all our questions ready and posted it all on the website when the announcement launched, Releasing all the information > then releasing very little vague and spaced information that people will ***** about because they don't have all the information...an interesting little cycle that could always be avoided, if they opened up and communicated efficiently.
  18. Isn't Gamescon in September? This is completely fail if it is, how do you expect people to subscribe, especially for bonus stuff, if you don't tell them anything to get them to subscribe, a blur trailer and some vague information is not enough...lack of information is the worst thing an MMO can do, unfortunately something Bioware does well.
  19. I don't know about an NGE, this game engine being as crappy as it is. But this is their chance to rework the whole thing and do it right. However, given what they have already told us, including posts today, they are not fixing or doing what really is necessary. Nor do they have the time NOW to change things, they have ~4 months, at this point they better be in the final phases of development work and polishing...LOLOL, sorry, it's funny because they always seem to be working on primary content up until the end, instead of polishing.
  20. I'm glad you are answering things Eric, however, the sooner you give people information the better it is for the community and SWTOR, if you want people to subscribe give them the information they need, especially before the "subscriber" bonuses start. Lack of timely information has always been one of SWTOR's biggest problems.
  21. And that is the problem, if they want to keep subs and gain new ones they need to lay it all out on the table so people can decide to sub, lack of information = lack of deciding to sub in most cases. I know they are always worried about saying x and not delivering x, but if they say nothing, not enough, or wait too long people will just not bother. All they need to do is release the plan with a things can always change clause, but this is what we hope to get so to speak. One last thing, the phrase "...we have plans for Operations that we are pretty excited about..." is not a positive way of answering it, and based on previous similar statements is not a good thing.
