  1. this is for PvP but it doesn't take into effect PvE which is failing hard due to UP classes caused by UP companions or companions that come out in the wrong order. if they balance for PvP and ignore PvE they will lose a large portion of their subs as most DON'T play MMOs for PvP (MMOs for those of us not just out of our cradles NEVER have great balance for PvP) if you don't believe the above just go look at AoC that even with bad game performance didn't lose subs heavy till it went for die hard PvP and now is down to 3 servers for NA have fun defending these choices to the "money men" bioware in 3 months time.
  2. sadly these seem broken as people leaving the game shows the writing is on the wall since this is only month 3 and the server populations are down and already they are having to give out free weeks to try and bring people to the game (sure this is a marketing gimmick but if on month 3 your server growth turns into a server decline there is a serious issue) don't believe those of us that are complaining now just wait a few more months and if you still can't see it i suggest a trip to the optometrist before you get behind the wheel of your car again.

(LoL) seriously though this game has slowly approached failure since opening and you can see it with in the talk in forums and in the game... people can't wait for the new game to come out what ever it is (sadly it will be a rendition of the exact same model as this one as no game maker wants to listen between the lines) since games became for for the "casual players" (and i don't dislike casual players but as a target market they are flighty at best) every game fails due to leveling speeds and lack of content. for lack of content you have the fact that if you fill a server with characters you will probably do the main story line 2 times fir a faction and 8 times most of the rest of it<which is the majority) and at this time there is no way to break off and say do a different area as you MUST follow the story line. now you have nerfing about to occur while there re lot of classes that UP in PvE and yet OP in PvP (yes with this game and companions this is VERY possible and is occuring) meh i of course no nothing though i have played MMOs since UO and EQ and tried about every game that was P2P that i can remember and a lot of the F2P and i have now played every class in this game to at least 25th level and i have 2 40s along with 3 high 30s grinding is bad yes but doing the same content 16 billion times is the same if not worse as you never even get to see new changes with your characters as one is the same as the other. i cancelled sub at the beginning of this month and sadly though the game had promise i foresee a steady drop off till the next big game comes out at which point there will be a crash in the subs. one day maybe someone will pay ME to help them and i can give them one simple thing to fix MMOs and that is stop with the quick fluff games and aim at die hard players... die hard players play for years to get the best gear and levels and casual players play today and unsub tomorrow and die hard players can't play a game aimed at casuals as it is over way to fast but a casual can play a die hard game it just takes them longer for all the casuals who cry this is not fair EQ was not casual but did pretty well for both casual and die hard players a like and even WoW did not start out as casual play over all but every game post WoW targets casuals first and fails everytime

WoW hasn't been out 10 years yet but i hear what you are say.. sadly the issue is not with the lack of content at level 50 as much as the lack of things to do so you level to 50 WAY too fast some will cry that this is unfair to casual gamers but even the casuals are leaving the game do to poor balance and lack of content like Rift you follow almost the exact same route to 50 every time (main story is the only variable for the quest leveling) already many servers are impossible to find groups for heroic material before 50 since the only thing you really want are commendations and you can get 1 for each mission you complete so why bother with heroics? is the attitude especially as some classes can do the +2 content with minimal issues while other classes can't even come close to soloing them. the game i know will never even come close to leveling as companions for PvE throw the whole thing out of balance and since every class gets different companions at differing times the balance cannot exist. sadly i am beginning to believe that this is going to be another foot note game that "could have been".
  5. tired of the terrible balancing in the game. along with what amounts to cheesy programming to cover up weaknesses in the game. i have played EVERY class and the class differences are terrible PvE wise JK guardian for tank mode is absolutely insanely poor till after balmorra as you haven't got a reasonable healer till then playing my smuggler today and though some in PvP cry about them in PvP they are substandard at best at 29th level as trying to do "down the hole" i can't do anything to clear it between the NpCs suddenly agroing for no reason or my companion running around a corner to argo as much as possible and using ae attacks to reactivate the one i have CCed now the above smuggler issue wouldn't be so bad if other classes couldn't breeze right through it due to healing and CC in combat abilities <the last of which smugglers can't do since you have to be stealthed before CCing and stealth is seen through at a pretty large range now> I know for a fact that you won't be able to balance the PvE game as you put into the game companions that instantly become a must and if they are not in the right order or at least the same order the classes become a problem. story wise YOU have to always follow the same path through the storyline and extra content as the game was set up this way and this too after a a little bit is a a drag and makes the game terrible. i think now it would have been better to have never made this game than to have made what this game is going to be locked into being. (it is everything Rifts was and i know it did wonders for that game too)
  6. err agents and smugglers are OP ?? i have played every class in the game to at least 20 and i didn't find this but found my bounty hunter as tank or healer up there and bottom of the line is JK guardian if trying to use a tank build for PvE soloing the worst mainly because of when the ranged healer comes out. maybe agents and smugglers are OP in PvP due to number of stuns but then this is why healers with the added slot can remove stuns but since most of us healer get tired of being pwned while everyone else run on to the win (the fact that we can get extra points now for healing when someone else gets a kill is a bit better but not sure if this isn't unbalancing in the other direction>
  7. the franchise hits 14 years .. other than a free game that has been backward engineered no one has EQ1 up and running (pity too even now i would play it as long as it only goes up to about velious xpac and i truly hated the graphics for EQ2 as it seemed almost dumbed down compared to EQ1) but otherwise i would say PvP DOES NOT make a long lasting game though as a side option it is often nice to relieve boredom PvE games usually last longer than PvP defined games (look at history of gaming sometime and you will see most people MIGHT do PvP on a MMO from time to time BUT if it come to a lot of PvP most would rather use a first shooter and set up a server or join one as the PvP is balanced)
  8. threat meters like DPS meters is often just the tool used to say so and so is a BADDIE as so many in these games have to point fingers... the tools do have uses but sadly are ALWAYS ending up being abused the threat from tanks is a problem as many DPS don't seem to realize if they pull the threat off a tank unless you are in a necessary damage race you should SLOW DOWN DPS for a bit to let tank reacquire the agro and build a bit before you power nuke again... also DON'T RUN AWAY FROM THE TANK run to the tank both of these are mistakes often made. sadly the healer threat gain in most games comes from healer healing DPS players who have pulled threat and since heals have more threat than a DPS with agro mitigation now one of the 2 necessary players i likely a target. For this last is what you really want a threat meter but sadly people start watching it and the game become about meters and statistics and in that case might as well play WoW since you see the dame thing all the time anyway
  9. sadly i do remember as this number is incorrect and i have sent them as much a message for this miss leading info.. they haven't counted the countless asian cultures sorry this is a a number that was brought out by a christian fundamentalist group most likely to show how christianity win all (christianity and the people in them has been on the decline since the 60s world wide) china a rather large number of people are buddhist BUT couldn't say so as though the believe system is a bad thing to the chinese government even now cuasing people to not be promotes if this gets out. it is like the many north american people who believe that there are a lot of people here and in truth there are next to none when compared to the far east.
  10. or a guardian jedi before getting the ranged healer... i tried it with C2 on alderaan and it was ok except AEs were centered on me at all time and C2 keeps running into combat range.. you move and he doesn't so he spent more time healing himself than me even though i had the agro. my jugg had no issue after getting quine as he heals at range so he isn't being targeted by AEs on player and the player can move around. Can't find it but some other player mentioned yesterday a DPS/PvP build for his jugg and i switched my stupid guardian to it and now at 33rd with the new attack (last time i tried DPS it sucked as i didn't have it) i can actually enjoy the class a bit... TY to this player as now i don't log the character and then hit the delete button and sit debating typing in delete and rolling something else
  11. sad thing is this is most likely true... as it has been in all MMOs for the past 20 years or so i would guess since i started playing MMOs Sad thing number 2 is that bioware and for that matter all game makers never learn from the last set of mistakes or the last games mistakes.. they make broad changes to several classes to balance them out instead of little changes to only a couple and then see how it looks (sure they can test it on the closed system or test server but in the end the players are usually the ones who make or break it)
  12. i do but the way you said it it sounded like they wouldn't work (ahem some people might believe this and end up annoying themselves and others) i have also been thinking and i think only melee (aka force user (maybe sorcerer i haven't played one for a while)) i can't remember whether i have one on my merc at all as i am always healing so don't have the time to worry about it.

  14. is blade barrier the one the stops all damage off one of the stun attacks? IF so i would love to see it do something other than stop the hamster attack that turns into a rotty
  15. you can get medium wrist and belt out of treasure hunting boxes (umm good luck though but i for one did see 2 belts and wrist for cloth and 1 medium belt on mine but it took a lot of credits)

  17. sadly i endorse this first week someone was crying about not being able to rechoose AC you start without a class and are learning what you shall become as a character and then choose whatever you can get through all the basics in about 2 hours if you fast track through the story (though i prefer to choose different choices and now have 2 of each class and each 1 of each AC and that means 16 characters all told<ok yes i have no life but then when you can barely walk it is my right>) sadly no one seems to accept this idea of choosing at 10th so i guess locking everyone at level 1 to a class makes more sense and less complaining
  18. i want to see if they nerf the crap out of kolto shell and the sphere for the sorcerers people have done nothing but whine about kolto shell with regards to PvP for a while now and personally i find it helpful to put on DPS it doesn't move the tank health all that fast while they are being beat on but apparently it is way too OP for PvP if they start nerfing as per PvP the community will being to dwindle faster.
  19. this might be something that happens and it is true when you mess with someones "main" too much they just say to heck with it. the game is badly balanced for classes and factions <when a different companion alone made my juggernaut tank a snap to play early on but my guardian is still struggling with normal mobs on ald> my healer types and ranged DPS all have decent CCing ability which is what makes them so easy to play but melee got slight increase in armor and it doesn't compare. i for one have already cancelled till they get their crap in order because though i like the game and concept of the game i will not be happy with what will be constant sweeping changes that will not balance PvE nor PvP because of the weaknesses within some classes vs other classes. i agree that trooper/bounty hunter tanks are way over the top just as healing with them gets pretty easy after you get your heal as hit ability BUT they are going to nerf it into the ground if it exists at all and i am sure the sorcerer bubbles will end up "fixed".. when these things cause the game to be unplayable for those classes they will "fix it again" and then the whines will have them changing it again. this game is no quake and therefore "balance" is not 100% ever but they added companions and this made the fact that you get you companions in differing order a problem as some can now gear for one faction while the reverse class on the other side is a "beggar looking for hand outs"
  20. i like the guardian but i like some others are getting annoyed with the fact that they are squishy tanks that rely on hitting targets to be able to survive and their hit ratio seems incredibly bad. combine this with the constant soloing that i have to do to level up now (it is darn near impossible to get groups a lot of the time) and the lack of healing/ranged DPS <C2 is ok as a healer but since he does almost 0 damage and is always in the AE effect of AE damage he spends a lot of time healing himself and not me> i started a juggernaut and balmorra was a pain till i finished main story line and since then i have no issues with even doing 2+ solo if need be will no where near as good of gear as i have sunk into the guardian. not sure if anyone has a fix for this but the difference in factions and when certain companions become available seem to be stopping me leveling now that the "new has rubbed off" and there are fewer and fewer "new" players in the game. someone was complaining about the sentinel but decently geared and with C2 geared about the same i am having no issues.. would it help to switch to DPS for guardian maybe to level? (i know for a fact that in the early 30s the damage difference between sentinel and guardian DPS builds seems huge or did when i tried it) to be honest other than the fact that it is my only biochem i would have deleted the guardian long ago.. it is sad that they are so hard to play over all and that all other tank builds (especially Powertech/Vangaurd) do not seem to suffer from the limitations that the JK seems to.
  21. oddly i agree with you BUT they have made this the only way atm you can gain on slicing since they keep nerfing the lock box amounts and there are very few drops of cybertech schemes and mission objects a few people have gotten away with selling mission objectives to "new" players with huge amounts and then this is believed to be the norm (it will only take a little before people start to figure out they are getting ripped off) i have one character prior to the renerfed nerf to slicing drops with 15 340 purple investigation mission items that i couldn't give away let alone sell on one server. bottom line for me i cancelled the game today after dealing with rude people who were determined that slicing if turned up at all was a license to "print money". just to mention IF you want to print money you can usually gain a minimum of 8x the mission value as a minimum number reselling underworld trading metals .. and you should average a lot of metal compared to getting the magical mission/scheme drops from slicing now. crafting is a mess as underworld metal feeds 3 creation crafts while all the rest feed only 1 <you can't sell the extras of this type> and slicng fits in either the space for missions and gathering but really doesn't make that much unless used as a gathering skill and then you also usually have to buy the underworld metals again.
  22. since name calling is your name maybe you are thick and can't understand so i will explain it yet a again someone with underworld trading parks themselves next to the GTN and sends companions off to do missions to collect metals... after level 2 metals the price increases exponentially on most servers when compared to the cost of doing a mission and out of 10 missions done i might fail and get nothing out of 2 someone is doing slicing and gets now maybe one scheme over the time of doing the same 10 missions with the same affection levels loses about 1500 to 2500credits without a failure and chances are there will be several failures as slicing has a higher failure rate it seems than ANY OTHER ONE and thick guy i have 16 characters to test this against/ all missions take the same amount of time but slicing now gives far less than any other crafting mission.. crafting mission items sell really well if they are archaeology treasure hunting or underworld trade as the rest end up as being vendor items now

  24. i have it maxed it is over the last 24 hours that it has suddenly tanked again.. <had one day where i went through 10 fail then 1 successes followed by 5 fails> if they are going to tank a crew skill to the point where it is going to go insanely lower in items and value they should be also switching the skills around so that i would have taken underworld trading so that i could at least stop having to buy all those insanely over priced mats on the GTN <if you look at the complaint about the reasoning that slicing pays out too much then underworld trading needs a serious nerf to values or increase in cost for missions> might be moot as i for one am quickly becoming disillusioned with the game and the insane knee jerk changes that have occurred of this nature over just over 2 months.
  25. on my one server augments sell to merchant no where else as a rule. the other server you can once in a while sell one for 5k
