  1. The other option to get your companion more health is to get better mods (which will increase his Endruance and overall health) and to increase his armor by keeping him geared up. In other words, don't forget to gear your companions as well as yourself.
  2. When you are grouped, credits get divided up and you roll on everything Green and up, so it does not matter who loots except for grey items. And you are right, sometimes you have access to things they don't.
  3. What is your point here? All of this information is available and the manner in which the information has been delivered for SWTOR is industry standard. MMO's don't launch with manuals. MMO's don't launch with manuals. MMO's don't launch with manuals. What SWTOR has delivered is more than STO, Fallen Earth, Age of Conan, WoW launched with... many others as well... Google "how do you X in SWTOR" and you will get your answer. This thread cracks me up. Can you please deliver the names of the other MMO's that launched with a manual? The last one I played at launch that had a manual was SWG and by Patch 2 it had out of date information. And to all the people that keep crying for Key Bind listings, it's in the Preferences (Settings), yah? Change them, set them back to default, go to town. There are plenty of gripes, corrections needed in this game. This is just a silly, niche complaint...
  4. Go to the Hutt Cartel GTN, Lower Promenade, Nar Shadaa. Cross Faction GTN. Only one... 3 GTN's. Imp, Repub, Hutt Cartell. Hutt Cartel is cross faction. Most people do not know this...
  5. Weird. I am a Level 48 Sniper and have never seen this issue. He heals, uses carbonite stream, heals me, heal himself, shoots mobs, tosses green goop, lol. I use him pretty regularly... I like Lokin, but I only use him when I have to solo Elites. I use a geared up Temple for everything else, as she just burns stuff down if you gear her right. They are the only two I use. The others are just fetch monkeys for crafting.
  6. I am telling you, a geared up Ensign Temple will put out mad damage... Fights don't last long. I bust out the Doc when I have to solo Elite's, because their big health number makes the spanking last so long, I am going to need some heals... (Also, Temple and Lokin are reskinned Agents/Smugglers, so they can have your hand me downs...)
  7. Would love to see the stat difference in Armors vs. Type. Light Armor with a Lvl 49 Green Armor Mod = what? Med Armor with the same Lvl 49 Grn = what? Heavy Armor, etc... I know there is a multiplier and for a Heavy Armor user, my suspicion is that at the end, you would be giving up a lot...
  8. No, it's boring and repetitive. I did it maybe 20 times, have not been back in maybe 25 levels and that doesn't include alt time.
  9. Still silly. You said that video games would cause teens to commit bum killings. Of course media impacts us, as do parents, teachers, the people on the bus... You said video games would cause teens to kill bums. Please go tell the nearest person you can see and say, "I think video games cause teens to kill bums." Better yet, bring it up in your next job interview. Admit it, it was a silly, unintelligent thing to say...
  10. This thread is just silly. There is no inequality between genders here. Both are treated equally shabbily by the Imperial side. - Vader was a young male slave (in the Republic, I might add). Slavery is littered throughout SW canon and the expanded universe. - In terms of equality, in the game, you encounter 2 males slaves with shock collars within the first 2 planets. Green guy on Hutta you are send to retrieve and slave in Dark Temple that becomes the "leader" of all the posessed people in the Temple. It's not just female slaves. - If you think the shock collar has a sexual aspect to it, that is *your* interpretation, based on what is in *your* head. I looked at it as an unpleasant prisoner control tool. The Imperial side of the game is based on what we would find a very unpleasant culture played against our modern sensabilities. It's also *fiction*. And, you *don't have to play it* if you don't like it. To say that the game deviates from established canon in the cinematic and literary SW expanded universe is just false and can be proven false very easily. If the game offends your sensabilities, and you are entitled to put that threshold where ever you'd like, you should not play it. But to suggest that this game should be altered for its extreme content is just silly. Video games are entertainment like movies or books. They are not required viewing. You don't like them, choose something else.
  11. You may also find that you can maintain threat if you keep your DPS'ers from being total knuckleheads...
  12. I also get "That player is not in your faction" from time to time, even though they are. I have to send them a tell, have them respond, right click to add to friends and Bingo! Suddenly they are in my faction... So annoying...
  13. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I would like to see an absolute ripoff of JTL. If you did it perfectly, I'd even give you another $60. That's how important *good* space combat would be to me in this game. JTL was an expansion also... The multiplayer ships were so fun. One guy piloting, 2 others in turrets shooting the bad guys and 1 last guy running around the ship with repair kits plugging plasma leaks, lol... Crafting, PVP, 3D, massive groups, stations to blow up, missions that involved fighting to an asteroid, landing, completing land missions.... So awesome... So *Star Wars*... When people were defending Space Combat as it is now, I boggled. Sure, 4 times through, engaging. How could you not see that it would get boring very, very fast? I have not used space combat in 25 levels. JTL, please, please, please...
  14. I disagree. Some of the games I have played had very active Server Forums, some not so much.. the active ones were great for having some people post "Meet at xyz to tackle World Boss at 7pm PST, etc." It worked some times, sometimes not... But hey, po-tayto po-tahto..
  15. I play Imperial, so a couple questions... What level is he and what level are you? If you just want to try to level up a little and go back, PVP does indeed grant XP, as does Space Combat. You can also finish all the other quests on that planet and come back. Also, a surprising number of people don't realize you can get help from other players in a Class Quest. You just have to be grouped and *you* have to go through the green door first. If you get help from another person of the same class, one or both of you have to have the "Allow Help from Same Class" button clicked in your preferences. (I forget which person has to have it clicked...) Gearing up you and your companion is also a good idea. Good luck.
  16. I like Huttball and I like the Bomb Door one... (Voidstar? Can't remember...) I hate the Alderaan 3 turret one for some reason... Just seems to get decided in the first 2 minutes every time... I have been on some amazing Huttball comebacks and just like how the environment changes on you.
  17. There is a partial version in the Community forums, in case you were unaware...
  18. Lots of negative responses to this, but I think the idea is very tenable... A couple thoughts: - In terms of space, it would not be hard to add a taxi ride to a newly created player housing zone on planets. Bingo, space created. - Vacant houses are not a problem if the problem is anticipated. No lot can be held by a non-paying customer. The second your paid subscription is up, your home packs up. - Guilds may dominate areas, but it would not be an issue if enough space is provided. While there were guild cities in SWG, there was more non-guild housing. - At there very least, I would love to be able to customize my ship more. Right now, it looks identical to every other player's ship. - Crafting should be a part of this. Craft the houses, craft the decorations, etc.
  19. Does a mild celebration for leveling up really tip over your apple cart?
  20. OP: I agree. How could all of these older games have so much more advanced of Character Creation systems and SWTOR is so limited? I have a feeling Legacy will inject more options... We'll see...
  21. Is that really a command? You should post this in the things you didn't know section of the noob forum. Thanks, I learned something today...
  22. I got new AMD drivers a day or so ago as well. I didn't look at their publish date and found out that my system was only checking like every 4 weeks or so, lol... Changed that... Anyway, they are out for AMD also...
  23. 1.) I am terrible at platforming. Most of the time I try to jump in SWTOR, I kneel like I am at mass. I am an idiot at jumping in this game. Trust me, you'd laugh watching me try to platform. I should fraps it and post it with the title, "Watch this idiot jump. Worst ever." 2.) I have zero patience. I almost turn into that German Kid on the interwebz at times when I get frustrated. 3.) And I don't think that *any* changes should be made to the Datacrons. I gave up on one in Nar Shaddaa because falling dropped me into higher level mobs. I am 49 right now and plan on going back and collecting them as a mini game when I get bored with the Lvl 50 gear grind. Things should be hard. There is no true achievement without struggle. I mean, I started playing this game a *month and a half ago* and I am at End Game. If everything is handed like a hot fudge sundae to me, I'm going to get bored and move on. Leave the Datacrons as they are.
  24. I actually agree with all your points and want to congratulate you for a critical post that still comes across as constructive. I think where I differ from you is the *degree* to which I find all the items substandard. I am still enjoying the game, but agree the items you list all need work. I don't have any immediate plans to cancel, however. I am enjoying playing very much still. I am hopeful that the UI revamp will allow windows to be moved, a 3rd row bottom, etc. I am also very hopeful for a GTN overhaul at the same time. I think crafting is way off from an engaging, diverting enterprise. It's just a time and money sink currently, with some cosmetic aspects as a side benefit. I am one of those people that enjoy EVE and SWG for the fact that you can craft as a big part of playing your game. I think becoming a "business person" should be an option for any AAA title released these days. I also feel that space is a poor element in the game as well. I played it initially, upgraded my ship, and last night I was thinking to myself, I just hit Lvl 49... and the last time I was in space I was 25 or so. Space, as it works now, just gets very boring, very fast. It needs full 3D, PVP enabled, crafting involved space. It's interesting, because some of the loudest complaints seem to be about optimization issues: lag, ability delay, textures, etc. These are technical issues, not design issues. My biggest issues are game design issues: crafting, space, etc. These will require complete overhauls... not quick fixes. Again, I am enjoying the game, I am hitting endgame now, so I may change my tune once I am grinding Ilum. I have PVP'd WZ's quite a bit and enjoy them, if a little repetitive. Anyway, thank you for your well sounded out post. I will be here until I don't enjoy playing any more and I am hoping that some good changes come down the pike soon from BW. Edit: Re-read your post after mine came up, and I want to say, I agree with you on Repub appearance. They should add some new looks for your side (I am a lvl 49 Sniper with many alts, lol). And when they redo/add looks for your side, the lead designer needs to say to his/her team, "Give me 25 new looks and don't use any effing brown in them." What is it with Jedi and brown in this game? Bunch of UPS guys waving rave sticks.
  25. Lvl 48 Marksman Sniper. I used Kaliyo until I got Lokin. Used Lokin from then and then Ensign Temple once I got her. She is geared max in oranges and she mows things down... Very happy with her DPS. I still bust out the Doc when I need to solo a tough Elite. Other than that it's the lovely Raina Temple.
