  1. Will we ever have the option of paying (maybe $25) to change our race? I have a 45 Cyborg Bounty Hunter that I really wish I'd created as a Sith or Rattataki. Now that Cathar's are available, I wouldn't mind changing it to one fo those either. Cyborgs are just boring. And I really don't feel like recreating a brand new Bounty Hunter just to get a different race.
  2. Is there any way to implement Legacy bonuses across all realms? I don't think it should be necessary to level a Sith on EVERY realm just so you I can create a Sith Jedi on every realm. I've done it once already.
  3. I agree. Here we are more than 6 months after launch, and the servers I play on (Colonel Tobin - PVE, Infinite Empire - PVP, and Lord Praven - PVE), and I am usually the ONLY person on any planet at any given time. I will log on and off multiple players, checking to see exactly how many people are on that planet. And, I am usually the only one. So, getting a "group" together for a datacron is impossible. On a similar note, I have played WoW for several years, and one of the things I was able to do was play multiple accounts at the same time in Windowed mode. I tried to do the same with this game the other day, and I was not able to. Since getting other players grouped for datacrons, can we at least allow multiple windows of the game to be played? Thank you.
  4. After reading all of the responses, I am going to specifically express the changes I think should be made. Most of these changes restrict certain attributes to a specific species. It's probably asking too much, but that's ok. I will only list the changes I would make. Anything NOT listed is fine. Size short & skinny short & medium short & muscular short & fat average & skinny average & medium average & muscular average & fat tall & skinny tall & medium tall & muscular tall & fat Scars add/change/remove some options have scars affect color of tattoos & hair (hair doesnt grow on scars, and discolors tats) Tattoos give the option of “none” Hairstyle ONLY for Humans, Mirialan, and Chiss (It looks ridiculous on Sith and Zabraks); add/remove/change some (i.e, add flattops & topknots) Hair Color ONLY for Humans, Cyborgs, Mirialan, and Chiss Beards ONLY for Humans, Cyborgs, Mirialan, and Chiss Cybernetics add the option of a limb or two being cybernetic Lekkuhave the option of one or two, or even have one that was “cut off from battle” Headbands are they really necessary? I’m just looking to give each species some features that are not shared by others. It gives each character more of a personal touch. And, as listed above, some shared features (like hair and beards) look stupid on certain species. If you can think of anything else, feel free to comment.
  5. True, but I'd already typed out the message. When I heard about this game, I wanted to resurrect my wookiee from Galaxies (Skoch'on'roks) and play as him. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. I think Bothans and Faleen are the two best ideas for new species.
  6. I thought about listing wookiees, but they and Trandoshans are companions. Maybe that would've been too much. Then again, Galaxies had wookiees......
  7. "Keyboard Commando"? That's pretty funny. On second thought, that's pretty stupid. I said I didn't know what you were talking about. My post didn't attack you. I'll aknowledge the lack of body type (height would fall under the same category) in WoW. I don't see how poly count is relevant to the conversation, tho. But, I was mostly talking about other things like hair styles, facial hair, jewelry, etc. Heck, even the /dance was race-specific. You can't do tattoos or scars in the other game, but that's not a bad thing. But, seeing a Sith or Zabrak with hair makes me roll my eyes. Obviously, a decision like that was not thought out very well. I just think this game could've been far better than it is. The character creation has no imagination. Simply put: it's weak.
  8. Actually, Chris, it was a single thread cut into two parts. I did that because, although similar, they were too different subject matters. One thread was about how bland character creation was, and this one is about adding new species with original variations.
  9. Are you kidding? I've only played WoW, so I can't answer for the others. But, this game is NOT better than the character creation from Blizzard's game. There is nothing cookie-cutter about customizing your character's looks. There isn't one race that has the same "options" as any other race. No two races are even close! So, not sure what you are talking about. But, as I said, i don't know about the other games.
  10. Since I brought up different species, I think this game could use at least 2 more species for each side. I've gone through the Star Wars lore and came up with a few that I think would be great in this game. Here is my list of the species and what classes they could be: Empire: Faleen - Imp Agent or Bounty Hunter Ssi-Ruuk - Inquisitor or Bounty Hunter Devaronian - Warrior or Inquisitor or Imp Agent or Bounty Hunter Nikto - Trooper or Smuggler Republic: Bothan - Trooper or Smuggler Kel Dor - Knight or Consular Togruta - Knight or Consular Shistavanen - Knight or Smuggler If I could pick 2 from each side, I'd chose Faleen, Devaronian, Bothan, and Shastavanen. I'd like to know what others think. If you know of another that would be better, include it.
  11. I'm sure this thread has been around, but I couldn't find anything in a search. Anyway, I think BioWare was pretty cheap when it came to the selected species for each side. They took the cookie-cutter route in the blandness of character creation. Every race is just one slight variation of a human. Most "options" are reused for almost every species. For example, the four male "body type" options are all the same: 1) scrawny, short "kid" 2) average height, build 3) tall, bodybuilder 4) or REALLY fat! Can't have a husky guy? No, your choice is teenager, adult athlete, bodybuilder or couch potato. The scars are all the same, as are the hair styles. Seriously, how stupid does a Zabrak or Sith look with a Justin Beiber hairstyle or that dumb-looking mohawk? Serious, cornrows? Are Sith Warriors gonna get a quest to go into a recording studio to perform "Juggernaut's Paradise" or "Straight Outta Korriban"? Give me a break! I think there should be more variations that are species-specific. I like that the facial tattoos for the Mirialan, Rattataki, and the Zabraks are different. But the general build of the characters are all the same. Here's an idea: try making original species that are unlike any of the others. Some species in the Star Wars galaxies would be awesome additions in a game like this. But, it seems too difficult to make anything actually "special". It's a shame when all the characters practically look the same.
  12. If for no other reason than to get a few crafting materials for the appropriate Crew Skill? I've found that a number if items that have some planetary prefix to them are not able to be reverse engineered, even if I have the appropriate Crew Skill. It's ridiculous to not be able to reverse engineer things with the names of: Adarian Aldaraanian Balmorran Cerean Corellian Dantooinian Duros Echani Gamorrean Hapani Huttese Ithorian Kuati Mabari Mantellian Tionese Trandoshan I understand we wouldn't be able to get any upgraded schematics out of them, but we should at least be able to get crafting materials. Other MMO's allowed ALL non-common items (green, blue, purple, etc) to be disenchanted for materials. If this cannot be accomodated, then stop having those items drop! Most folks aren't gonna waste their time equipping them when Planet Commendations and Quest chains will get you far better gear. Again, this is ridiculous.
  13. I go into a WZ at lvl 17 thinking it'll be fun to see how well others my level are fighting, and I notice 2 things: 1) I'm battling players that are at least 15 lvls above me 2) I'm battling players from my own faction (Sith) Why? Is it so hard to make the WZ a Sith vs Republic battle? And, how difficult is it to tier each WZ based on lvl? 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50. I don't see how this is such a difficult thing to come up with. Other MMORPGs have had that for years. Seems to me BioWare is seriously behind the powercurve in this game. As a side-note, it would be nice to actually come across (and be able to fight) members of the opposite faction within the real-world, outside of WZs. Is it so bad to allow Sith into the Republic areas of Nar Shadaa, or vice versa?
