  1. Can it be prohibitive to grind the RL cash required to purchase the item in the game store?
  2. They've talked about this huge quest a multiple times. They even launched a new trailer for it. And just because SWTOR has seen a drop in subscriptions... that was all just lies? I don't understand your train of thoughts here. And are you saying he was wrong in his statements? Well, feel free to clarify since I have a hard time following you.
  3. Sure. Now this is just one of the places it is mentioned: Link Edit: Linked the wrong source the first time. Better now. It has been mention quite a few times actually, but you'll have to find more for yourself.
  4. You mean like the huge quest, requiring characters on both Imp and Republic side, they have said will lead to getting HK?
  5. Alright, and you don't be shocked if it's included in the sub, like it says. Good, now we have spared two hearts from shock.
  6. Pure speculation and not supported at all by what has been officially stated.
  7. Why is this sensational? And what does this have to do with P2W? So for new content, the people playing for free will have to lay down the cash. What else is new?... If HK releases after they transform into F2P, of course you'll have to buy the content he comes with unless you pay your sub.
  8. I don't look at games like that. This is entertainment and I'm in it for me. I couldn't care less how someone reached higher levels and I wouldn't even know how they got there. As long as people can't buy their way to the top in a competitive setting, I couldn't really say they "pay to win". You don't care what I think is p2w and I don't care what you think is p2w, but I don't think it's fair to hold your view as the generally accepted one and ask people to leave the discussion if they don't conform.
  9. No, it doesn't need an official definition, but atleast give something that strengthens your view of what the general consensus is here. You ask a bloke to either adapt to your (and everyone else's apparently) definition or bow out of the discussion. Why would like buying levels be "pay to win"? Why would someone buyng the same weapon I just got from a loot drop be considered "pay to win"? What the hell do I care where he got it from? I have the same freakin' piece, why complain?
  10. Where is the term officially defined? You have a link? You seem so sure about everyone else's definition I can't imagine you can't back it up with atleast something.
  11. Uh, that's what you're doing right now, man...
  12. What do you mean "Buy 2 play"? You didn't buy SWTOR? If you're that sensitive towards micro-transactions, you can just keep your sub. I mean, don't go f2p if you don't want to then. The option is there. And how is GW2 gonna do it, just to take a recent, hyped example?
  13. What server are you on? 90-100 people max on the entire server during peak? Or fleet? Anyways, what server is it?
  14. Can't your old man just buy LucasArts for you and you can create your own Star Wars mmo?
  15. What does that have to do with anything?...
  16. If no one plays the game they purchased because it's a boring POS I guess you could deem it a failure, right?
  17. Two different things, yes. But I very much doubt that the two terms "F2P" and "B2P" are generally accepted as official terms. This is purely my guess, but I think a potential F2P scenario for TOR would be you buy the box and then it's free. It is free to play once you purchase the disc/download, just like GW2. Otherwise it can never be F2P for me. I've already bought the discs...
  18. We have GW2 launching in a month (?) without a monthly sub, a game that people hail as the savior of the mmorpg genre. Yet seeing TOR take the same route is considered a capital crime?
  19. You won't be around on this earth forever either, you know. Why live? Don't overthink it. If you're having fun, play!
  20. So... do you know anything about coding and engines or not? Why do you need an answer anyways? What good will that do you?
  21. Ah yes, this one again. This quote is from the same source as the quote in the OP I believe. So why not throw it into the mix, huh? "Hey guys i'm a bioware employee and I don't expect anyone here to believe me but I just wanted to let you know all this doomsaying is just a load of bull. The truth is there are no plans to go F2P anytime soon. Yes we have a contigincy plan if subs managed to drop well below 200k. But after looking at the trends there isn't any signs that will happen. Our plans our to keep rolling out content with 1.4 planning to come out in late September and 1.5 in December. We still have more then enough developers to keep this game alive and well. So fear not. " Enjoy!
  22. Did I suggest that I do? That bloke wanted proof. I don't think it's too much to ask that he provides the same.
  23. Do you have any evidence they haven't raised the population cap further, killing your queue? Do you have any evidence that the people "missing" on the fleet wasn't in fact elsewhere in game?
