  1. Sorry but if the 15 second change hurt your ability to tank then you were doing it wrong anyway.
  2. If you're having trouble holding aggro then I'd suspect you're not using taunt to build threat.
  3. All the tanks are viable in end game. We've done all of the content with all the tanks (working through the new Op right now) and the choice of tank doesn't affect the outcome. This game actually puts more emphasis on how good your DPS is than any MMO I've played in the past.
  4. Yes its true, but the other part of my post (that Soa is easily done with a Sin) is also true. Jugs also lose in the best to tank Soa contest to PTs though, because Soa never procs Retaliation we lose our 6% extra defense.
  5. Because the only mitigation that works against Soa's attacks are armor based reduction.
  6. I'm not forgetting anything, I just disagree emphatically. If you happen to be on HoG I'll be glad to show you how and why you're wrong.
  7. Hmm, after going through the logs fight by fight that extra threat from Ravage came from the trash and NOT the bosses. I don't know if that's a bug in the logging, the parser, or something odd to do with the trash. tldr; putting 2 points into Decimate over Ravager is probably a good idea
  8. /em shrug our experience was the opposite. PTs do/did have trouble with fights with high burst (Foreman Crusher) because they have fewer active click defenses and Sins have a hard time mitigating Soa, though he's so easy now with the lightning ball nerf that it doesn't matter. The hybrid build for Jugs I'd consider experimental right now because Huddle was removed. You should be able to make it work but IMO the exact mix is still to be determined. In any case we one shot EV and had no problems in KP till one of our healers got wife aggro ;P
  9. I was MT last night through EV and KP with ease, in fact much easier than prior to 1.2. What build was your Jug tank running? Right now a 31/8/2 or 31/7/3 build looks optimal for tanking. Also, Jugs were arguably the best tanks prior to 1.2 certainly for some fights they are/were clearly better and at least as good as Sins or PTs in all of the others.
  10. I was thinking the same thing but looking at our raids logs I found something interesting. Smash accounted for a small amount more damage (401,455) than Ravage (365,898) but Ravage generated MUCH more threat. 3,548,925 as compared to 632,293. Taunt provided 5,067,545 and Threatening Scream gave 4,467,263. Ravage looks much better from a threat perspective than any of the other attacks and I don't know why nor did I expect that. In comparison the "high threat" attacks Backhand and Crushing Blow were no where near as good. Crushing Blow 633,693 Backhand 245,258

  12. This is what I'm running right now and I'm still not sure about the last point but I have both Ravager and Dreadnaught and that feels pretty good. The one point in Decimate is the one I am undecided on.   13. You probably had the talent that added a stun to FC and that's now gone. Try using savage kick instead since its triggered by the root.
  14. 6% increase overall from Single Saber Mastery plus the buff to Ravage which is a really important part of your rotation now. Rage management was never a big issue but I can tell that Revenge is working correctly now because I get more reduced cost Screams.
  15. Someone else brought up FPs and I was simply correcting the false information. I just got done running HM EV/KP as a Jug main tank and my experience is that our net threat got a healthy buff. I could wait longer into the beginning of a fight before taunting and I seldom had to use my taunts to build threat (some fights I never did and most it was only once or twice). tldr; Jugs hold threat better in 1.2 than before.

  17. Just got done on HM run of EV and KP as a MT on my Jug and frankly HM is easier now than its ever been. Holding threat was easier and I think its because the bonus threat from Crushing Blow along with the DPS increase made it easier to hold threat.
  18. MT EV/KP tonight on HM and I have to say EV is MUCH easier and we one shot Soa without much sweat. We were actually concerned because we had 2 Sorc healers and they had their oh **** heal CD increased but it was really smooth. The balls hit for significantly less damage and I can say I didn't have any threat issues and though the added threat from Crushing Blow was very visible because I could wait a couple rotations more than before 1.2 before DPS started pulling ahead on the threat table. We ran out of time tonight in KP but we ran into problems with Bonecrusher, he seems to some kind of pull now and that caused us to lose some people unexpectedly. We took Jarg an Sorno easily but ran out of time for one of our healers so we didn't get to move on. All in all Jugs feel better (damage for tanks is definitely better) and our survivability is still good but I could see the difference in the healing reduction.
  19. UI customization is nice, though it takes some time to get it do everything you want. The legacy buffs are cool for soloing in PvE all of the Belsavis Heroics are soloable now because of the bosses are easier (mezzable) and they spawns have fewer golds and Legacy abilities give you some oh **** buttons (and buffs). Haven't queued yet so I can't talk about WZs but in general the game seems to run a lot smoother on my ATI card.
  20. In PvP (right now at least) you really want to be in DPS gear even if you're in a tanking build. If things change (shielding & heavy armor get better against force/tech attacks) then War Leader MIGHT be worth it but right now DPS gear is better in all cases.
  21. Try the PvP vendor, but IIRC you can only trade them for crafting goods and some lockboxes not WZ commendations.
  22. They removed the CD reduction skill so we're on par with the other tanking ACs in regards to the AoE taunt. Jug AoE was not bad prior to 1.2 (use Intercede more often if you're having threat issues) in fact played correctly Jug threat management is the best in the game. I'll be running as a MT tonight, probably a 31/8/2 build and I'll report how things go with all of the changes.

  24. Personally I focus on one character at a time. I do the space and WZ missions daily and I do the FPs. A couple of planets end up being only class quests. I try and keep the missions and enemies I am fighting at least one level higher than I am. I'm not a hardcore grinder and I only have 2 50s atm though I do have several alts in the 20-30 range as well.
