  1. THIS WORKS! FIXED -- error in launcher config file After experiencing the same issue (characters not available for play after latest update), I've been able to resolve the matter by fixing - of all things - a spelling error in the SWTOR launcher configuration file. In my case, it had to do with the BitRaider app apparently not handling the update properly due to, as it seems, a simple spelling error in the 'launcher.settings' file. This file is located in the main game directory ('\Program Files (x86)\Star Wars-The Old Republic' for me). Close the game, then open the launcher.settings file in Notepad. Look for the following line: , "bitraider_disable": false and change this to , "bitraider_disable": "false" So yes, just add 2 parentheses like in the other lines. After this change, the following happened for me: - After starting the launcher, the game started to update again, re-downloading some 320 items, including most of the 'Asset' folder (around 25 GB?). - It reported an error with 66 of the files, and prompted me to press 'Repair'. Which I did. - Lengthy repair procedure - I pressed 'Play' again, and was greeted by a server selection screen, followed by the character selection screen with all chars available for play. Tested & worked. Yay!
  2. This was my first Foray into this Stronghold, and I really love it. I love the stained glass room and the windows. The views are amazing! I do have some critiques: 1. Please allow mounts everywhere. This is important for decorating as things go much faster. 2. Drawing room and Guest room need windows. If you can't do real windows, put stained glass windows in there. 3. There is a broken door in the mountain retreat. https://imgur.com/4Fbx4Oo 4. There are a lot of pre-hung chandeliers that I would prefer to be replaced with ceiling hooks. https://imgur.com/r3b8okI 5. Second Floor - Use the same elevator as the mountain retreat to get there. Knock out the bricks in the top area to create a balcony. https://imgur.com/kTtlZKe 6. Get rid of the exhaustion zones and death drops, please. 7. The entrance looks run down. https://imgur.com/i3q3tAe Add some cobblestones to the walk and clear out the rocks. Add deco hooks so we can put gardens in and make it look nice. Also, if there is grass on the ground, there shouldn't be so much snow buildup on the building.
  3. Why does every new story have to be in a new world? It would be great at this point to have new stories in existing places. We suffer a content drought for so long it seems because every new story seems to be built in a new world. Why is there no new content in old places?
  4. I agree with this. As long as the recipients subbed for as long as I did to get the chapter, I don't see why not. Make it retroactive as long as the recipients continue to sub. Make a cool Deco or a customization for the OG folks as a thanks.
  5. Please add small hooks inside Centerpiece and the 4-block large blocks. There are a lot of nice centerpiece decos, (spa, copero bar are a few examples) where they would be a lot better if we could place NPC's inside them.

  7. This is what I want: Green and Blue hooks INSIDE ALL Centerpiece and Large hooks. There are some great Centerpiece and large Decos that come up short because I can't place any NPC's, Companions, or small items inside them to make them more alive. Thoughts?
  8. I would love a "Training Mode" for Ops where you pick your role, and your companions automatically fill the other roles. NO rewards or achievements. Use only for enjoying the cutscenes and practicing your role.
  9. It is GREAT to see you utilizing public test to make the patch amazing! I hope you continue to do this in the future.
  10. Would it be possible to move the timeline? Even if us American players have to quit early - it's a weekday for us - we could maybe give our European friends a head start?
  11. Please either include Cartel Certificates in packs or remove them entirely. There are tons of reputation vendors in the basement of the fleet and a deco vendor who all require them.
  12. I received "Shroud of memory" because I was subbed. That being said, if Bioware wanted to offer it to people when they sign up for a 6-month sub, I would be okay with that. However, giving it out for free is NOT ok.
  13. Replace Theron and Lana with Lord Scourge and Kira and Bam! the story is so much better.
  14. My thoughts: I enjoyed a huge portion of all three expansions. Please take the criticisms as constructive; my stating them does not mean i didn't enjoy the stories; there are just some things that could have been done to make it more "wow." I agree that the Vitiate/Valkorion thing felt patched in. The extra backstory needed to be provided; it could have been done via Codex or via datapads strewn about that we could read in different places. Perhaps even a have a collection for them for a reward. This is something you could even add in now to help new players understand the stories better. I feel that Lord Scourge was the missed character in all three of these. I don't know if there were perhaps problems with the availability of the voice actor, but if he would have been woven into the storyline, it would have helped tie things together. Take out Lana, replace her with Lord Scourge, and weave his story into both Revan and KOTFE, and you would have had a more believable narrative. You could have used Scourge to tie Vitiate and Valkorion together story-wise and it would have made sooo much more sense. To me, Theron and Lana are nothing characters. There's no back story to them (other than Theron having famous parents; whoop tee do). Arcann was a more compelling and developed character as a reformed villain than as a villain. I want to know more about him because of this. However, I felt that Vaylin was too underdeveloped. The cutscene of her youth gave us a bit of background, but I found it odd that she was so compliant to be Arcann's underling during KOTFE and then out of control in KOTET. That was too much of a jump. I think the story should have diverged on Odessen between the force sensitive and non force sensitive characters. A lot of what happened with Satele Shan in the Odessen woods made little sense to my non force sensitive characters. Perhaps make the test more of cunning and strategy instead of making me a force sensitive gun. I haven't played all of Iokath yet, as I took a break to play Andromeda and a few other things, so I really don't have a comment on that yet.
  15. Take a serious look at how STO runs their servers. They have the look and feel of one megaserver, but it is actually divided into "zones" that automatically pop up depending on population. Also, the account name and the character name are not the same - so that would solve the naming issues. Also, look into IBM's "gameframe" product and see if that could be more cost effective than having all these servers.
  16. When the NGE first started, the "posters who play" guy (Chris Cao) was in charge (and he was so arrogant) and it really did suck. After a year, they fired him and brought back pets, along with more customization. In the end, the skill trees were a lot like TOR is today. The Heroic Instances were tons of fun (especially Hoth and Exar Kuhn). They added a GCW metric where you could control the major cities, which made the PVP purposeful and fun. Mustafar and Kashyyk turned out to be even more fun. The problem was, so many people left at the NGE onset that the awesome work those last Devs did (you could fly your ship in the atmosphere!) was unseen due to the reputation the game had at that point.
  17. I like the additional hooks - I used them to add more NPC's. A stronghold with that much area needs NPC's.
  18. Manaan! However, the fleet stronghold would be nice - make it a luxury ship worthy of the current occupant of the Eternal Throne!
  19. We already have the instancing in place to have a megaserver concept like STO. Really the only things that would need to be done involve chat and player names and guilds. I would happily give up some of my character names for the betterment of the game.
