  1. im not delusional at all its possible to outdps a Pyro because I have done and I have seen others do it. And I'm not outright saying "sorcs are fine" either because yes we need defenses and such but some of the things being posted (I might've confused you with OP yeah) are like "let's bump our overall dps by 30% and lowers our cast to .5sec." You know what I give I'm not a Lightning Spec like ive said before but cutting your casting in half? you might as well not have a cast at all cause thats what it'll seem like. If im going to level with you then on both specs (Madness and Lightning) then for Lightning boost "Conduction"damage bonus from 1% to 3% (even 5%) which stacks 3-times, raise "Convections" damage boost from 6% to 10%, and on the madness tree increase either "Calcify" or "Disintergrates" damage or crit chance boost (respectively) from 6% to 10%. This was for Lightning Sorcs you now have 10%+10%+9%(15%)=29%(35%) damage boost which doesnt include "Reverberating Force." For a Madness sorc, increase "Calcify" from 6% to 10% damage boost, "Parasitism" and "DeathField" boost health regen to at least 5%, boost "Creeping Dreams" from 30% to 45% crit damage boost, and either boost the duration or damage boost of "Lingering Nightmare" or "Force Horrors." What I do give you is that Snipers of any spec are semi-Burst because of their abilities no inclusive to their tree. Series of Shots, Ambush, and Takedown can each hit for massive damage without the target being nailed by the Sniper's tree skills. Still I have been able to outdps Pyros and Snipers before. I'm not saying its every match but its happened and is possible
  2. You are a burst class to begin with. I know what cutting cast time will do but all im seeing is people who want a new version of Wrath->Chain Lightning. And again Lightning tree has abilities that work with cutting casting, and again you have an issue put PvP mods into PvE gear and you'll have even faster dps because the alacrity boost. Yes its a worthless stat in general but its what deals with cast time. So the increase of your alacrity after an Affliction crit makes for easier casting of moves and more of a Glass Turret onslaught
  3. Yes I can say that because my Madness sorc is my main and ive outdpsd both of my other classes before in pvp and pve. Am I saying "im a high and mighty sorc!" No but its not impossible to outdps those other two classes. At the same time Pyrotech is all burst melee now in pvp you have the advantage of range and easily being able to run your abilities while moving (minus casting FL to proc wrath). Moreover, drop affliction to a group and hit them with deathfield your get some crowd control dps and then you can single out targets. Snipers, specifically Lethality ones like I run, are admit much better at their dot trees than Sorcs. They have longer dots and an aoe dot so yes they can sit back and pick ppl off. Anyways what you are complaining about is Lightning spec which outside casting time there is no problem. Further more Lighting tree is full of abilities that raise your crit chance, lower the casting and cool down of abilities (Lightning Strikw and Chain Lightning), and increase the damage of moves by various percentages! Its the Pyrotech for Sorcs but you're complaining of what im saying? If casting is such a problem go back and do what I said. If you dont have a second Rakata set buy Tionese Force Master, put in pvp mods, and see that you will have quicker casting to get your moves off faster. The PvP ForceMaster only helps Madness and Hybrids anyways. You want better defenses for your Lightning, fine I agree 100%. But more damage? For what you have an insta-crit TB, CL that can crit, hit up to 5 targets, AND can created a second Arc to blast for my dps. You have an ability that lowers the cast of your Lightning Strikes, another that lowers CL cast and cooldown, and you have increased range on your abilities. Really everything is right there...you just want more for no reason. So please continue to say that Pyros are better and blah blah blah. Realize its not impossible to beat them and find ways to do it instead of complaining about something you can fix.
  4. Ive never ran MM or Eng but i am full Lethality and if youve played another dot class you should be fine. If you still have the BM pvp gear then use the 2-set bonus of PvP and PvE to get a longer Orbital Strike and energy regen from Target Acquired. My basic rotation in operations is: CorrosiveDart-CGrenade-WB-Cull-TargetAcquired-Series of Shots-Ambush-Cull....in the middle of this is my energy is dropping a bit for a sec ill use my rifle shot but ive never found myself needing to use my energy probe. Also i sometimes start my rotation with Orbital Strike or use it at the end because either way it helps my dps. Rifleshot is essential to use in btwn your rotation because it wont lower your dps but allow for a slight enegery regen so you dont go from 0 to 60 at once. Outside of this in full Lethality both corrosives dots leave a smaller poison that last just a bit longer so you dont have to keep dropping dots as much as you have to like in Madness spec. Thats why IMO this is the best dot spec in the game. Now i have played with and against MM snipers and they are very good as well. From what ive seem its the basic difference btwn you wanting Burst or Dot
  5. If you already have a toon with Bio then go either Cybertech or Armormech. I believe Cybertech lets you create and use nades (which in pvp or pve im sure is nice in any way. This could help with extra dps or halting your target(s) to continue your rotation. Armormech allows you to make rakata belt/wrists and the augment kits and augmemts themselves. This saves you money if you are trying to get the kits and augments without help from guildies or other toons. For example these are the scrafts and my toons: Sorc- 400 synth Powertech- 400 bio Sniper- 400 armormech Jugg- artifice
  6. Sorry this just looks like qq to me. Yes sorcs/sages (no matter what spec or hybrid) would appreciate more defensive help in PvP in that we need a way to reduce of damage taken. IMO our shields are the best in the game and a well geared sorc wont have it drop so quick to a Shadowstrike, hybrid or not. I do think our new healing we got should be boosted to hit as high our Dark infusions regularly. That i think we can agree would help in general and (not that mny do this) but it be better than running away and usingyour cast heals. Also a slight boost to parasitism (for madness specs) would better survivability with a boosted self heal. Now if you are complaining of your casttime for Lightning and think it should get decreased let me give you a tissue to your issue. Buy full tionese (and this is for lightning), put all your PvP modes in their and add a regular WH armoring that does give the set bonus to the tionese. In this you can get the bonus that lower your force cost of FL and LS and the crits from Affliction give the 4-set to increase your alacrity making your cast-times faster. If you are a hybrid you can do this or just use the 2-set bonus of both pvp and pve. All anyone had to do is look and you can solve your problems. We dont need a dmg increase cause all dps specs can still do crazy damage in pvp
  7. Lol not to shoot down some of what you guys are saying for ThunderSithGod trees but did someone say Lightning has burst!? Or they want a better burst!? ThunderingBlast is already an insta-crit when target has Affliction and ChainLightning is a burst that hits multiple targets correct? Also you want a lowered cast bar? The PvE set bonus can already give you increased alacrity after an Affliction crit. Sorry not trying to counteract your statements but these "new abilities" you want are already ingame if you look for them. Now for madness (as I am one) Id love the AoE dot, especially for PvP. The paraticism for a raidgroup would be similar to Mara Bloodlust so thats fine. I would like if the paraticism got boosted a bit cause the "pocket health" is not really all that much coming from Affliction or CT.
  8. But since you are houndig their asses anyways with FB,RP, and RS there defenses will already be on cooldown. ED does nothing to support Pyro after a full tree because it does not proc anything or leave a dot/debuff. It because an extra heat cost is all
  9. I can honestly say ive played with an AP powertech or tried it out but im sure it can keep up with single target dps of a Pyrotech in Operations. Im not pretending to know of AP but Pyrotech is definitely one if the strongest dps in the game. Proof is the constant aggro-stealing that happens and general high dps numbers. I have always been interested in AP however
  10. You said level 14? Alternate between Rapid Shot and your other abilities to give your heat a bit of time to cool. Even at 50 you should be incorporating RS in your rotations
  11. ED is fully a waste once you have TD are you kidding me? The AoE dmg is barely anything at all. That damage could be easily surpassed by FB, RP, even Flamethrower if you really want AoE damage. Idk about AC spec but definitely in Pyro ED is useless when you get TD and MB just becomes a heat waste. I would advise against it in pvp since youd be at close range anyways if you use it so you are better of using your other abilities anyways. Why is this even being discussed if it is referenced to Pyrotech? Please if someone has info on how it would compare with AC I would be interested in learning since I have never tried it
  12. This If you are lvl50 or at least have the full Pyro tree (if you are pyroing) you shouldnt have to use missiles anymore. TD replaces Explosive Missile and Missible blast is just a waste of heat
  13. Lol thatd just prove all of the BW team are Maras then. Im not whinning but I do recognize them as being overly powered and should be evened out with the other melee.
  14. I would assume Balance is less than for leveling. While im leveling a Shadow now in Infil I wouldnt see the point of leveling in Balance if you dont get your FiB for quite some time. Now i know of the obvious differences bu my Main is a Madness Sorc and I leveled hybrid as full madness wouldve been a big waste until Deathfield oraybe even Deathmark. I would like to try Balance on my Shadow eventually and having a main Madness I figure I know the basica on how to play it but leveling im got Infil all the way

This is all I got from what you said (not trying to troll); -Maras/Sents want to complain about everyone else but themselves which is why everyone but them have gotten nerfed -Smash being reduced may hurt Rage Juggs like the ability changes hurt Hybrid Sorcs -PT are still great it just sucks a bit our range was cut -AC is fun..........i never tried that so i wouldnt know lol
  16. I havent played with hybrids in sometime so I wouldnt know hoe they compare though i figured itd be at least even with full specs. The crit with DF would be nice but I like how Sniper Lethality is and if Madness got a similar ability i think id help the spec (lessened extra dot of Affliction for example)
  17. -did not see a previous one like this. If there is one already then ok- So I just wanted to here what everyone was thinking for new abilities with the expansion. You can talk about any of the 3 specs and what you'd like to see or general expect will happen to any spec and in any scenario (PvP or PvE). Okay so im a full Madness 3/7/31 and while I love my dps in PvE and PvP (though I havent PvPd since like September) I feel the spec would appreciate a burst ability that plays off our DoTs (similar to Thundering Blast) , a change in Crushing Darkness that allows it to proc another ability or hence another when resolved, or an AoE DoT like the Sniper's "corrosive grenade." -the burst while is a dumb idea considering this is a DoT specc would work well in single-targeting in PvP or PvE. In PvE i have yet to see a Madness outdps a Lightning though we can match it. The reason is because we have neither an insta-crit burst nor a set bonus that properly helps us. In PvP its easy to outdps a lightning even with their chains simply because our dots -CD proc ~> think of what Affliction does Thundering Blast; or how corrosive dart ticks twice. CD could tick twice which could allow for DF incorporation or more FL and then you can go about your rotation -AoE dot.....if you've seen Lethality snipers in PvP enough said I have no knowledge of Lightning or Corruption playstyles as I never tried either in their full spec so I leave the rest to you all
  18. Just play the usual spec 3/7/31 and all is good. I was hybrid up until the nerf and I seitch to the classic madness and its still great. PvP set bonus is the best for the spec. If you are doing PvE and you are a lucky mofo who still has the BM pvp set use 2 Battlemaster and 2 Rakata (or higher) pieces and those 2 set bonuses make Madness slightly better than the full PvE set bonus. IMO if you are PvE though just use the 2-set bonus as the 4-set is more for Lightning spec
  19. 1) I laugh at equalled geared Mercs who I easily out DPS despite the range loss 2) range loss was a ***** for PvE and PvP but at least we have Grapple in PvP (for at least all by Snipers) 3) what more could they honestly do to "nerf" Pyrotech in any way? Make our Railshots not refresh our CGC? Really they took out the RS-spam and cut our range and we may not be as strong as before but if your DPS is low the reason is the the one behind the keyboard. Now I stopped doing PvP after I a time on my PT to make it more PvE oriented but simply watching others on my team and seeing the numbers....things could be a lot worse. But I do slightly believe that Pyrotech needs something in the tree with Makeb expansion. Idk what because I know no direct issues with playing in PvE except we are the only Melee DPS class that cannot close in on an Op boss quickly enough (assasins/shadow-forcespeed, warriors/knights-jumps and lunges; this is what our range made up for). None-the-less some other ability is needed though its not like how I feel Madness/Balance Sorcs need a burst (lets me for real whether PvE or PvP a full madness sorc would at least appreciate a burst move)
  20. So I've been pyrotech for a long time and all but I'm confused on if stat priorities really make a difference in PvE. My accuracy is 108%, crit 31% (36% with agent buff), and surge is 75%. I know where each stat should be and such but I'm finding it hard to get each to where they should. Im geared in BH/Camp with a few rakata mods in their that beat out other mods in Aim. Should I just stack Aim for the crit and get rid of crit mods to fix my accuracy/surge problem (and then stack Power more) OR should I stay as I am since stats don't make so much a difference

So i just have a few general questions on Jugg (the usual) -how does Rage compare to Vengence because from the tree it seems fairly amusing to play if done properly. -does the jugg set bonus help only a specific spec or can work well for both? Or would a mara set bonus be better? -as a PT DPS I have out-dps'd equally geared (and sometimes higher) Mercs. Can Juggs normally match their Sith Warrior counterparts? For the most part I've been able to answer these myself through observations of raids and pvp but its better to get my answers from players who are Jugg DPS and have played it.

Note- DPS Pyrotech Powertech Stats- should be as follows: Accuracy 110%, Surge 75%, Crit 30% So ive been trying to get my stats to where thye should be using swtor.askmrrobot.com to simulate when im in full campaign but even with mix and matching mods from BH and campaign I can't seem to get my Accuracy to110% while keeping Surge 75%. there was another DPS powertech I saw a few days ago in my server with his perfect stats but we were doing NMP and I forgot to ask him. Anyways have tips or anything???
  24. I used to use a similar 0/9/32 spec for PvP and PvE and going back to the simple 3/7/31 spec is still much much better.
