  1. Of the two benefits that this armor provided pre Onslaught (scaling armor and 50% xp boost) the scaling armor was the best, and IMO because of how easy xp is to come by, the most useful aspect of this armor. Even without mods or enhancements, you could easily level from 1-70 without ever having to craft or buy armor mods. You have now taken 50% of the benefit of this armor away with no added benefit. This was an event item we EARNED and to get the entire set was not necessarily easy and definitely not quick. Now you have taken away what arguably was the best aspect of this item. Really hoping that this is a bug and it will be fixed. If not that's pretty shady and I would like to know what the purpose of this change was because the only reasons I can think of for this change is padding metrics. Since it is from a 3yr old event and maybe your metrics tell you not enough people still play that have it and the uproar would be minimum so screw us, but for me, I will be waiting for a fix of some sort before I resub or put another $ into this game. IMO, the only acceptable response is it's a bug and we are going to fix it or, if you can't or won't fix it, a collections unlock so I can set up more than one armor set for quick and easy transfer between toons.
  2. In case anyone was wondering it was confirmed this was working as intended when I put in a bug report:
  3. This was highly disappointing to realize while running around on my nautolan and noticing that the armor wasn't increasing. You just reduced this armor from a great reward to a meh reward. If you can't give us the armor back then make this armor reclaimable in the collections so I can create milestone sets for each archetype that I can keep in my legacy storage as I did before the mastery/companion change way back when (with the legacy armor given at the release of starfighter). This was at worst a dirty change to keep people logged in longer or to make people not use the xp boost it provides due to frustration or at best... well, I can't think of a better reason this change was implemented. I leveled many an alt with just this armor and no enhancements or mods. It just wasn't necessary to level an alt to max. I want the DvL armor back that I earned during the event. You have now taken away one of the biggest benefits of a reward we earned. Pretty shady imo.
  4. Not that I expect anything to be added, but that statement isn't exactly true. In the original announcement, they said the store would have REGULAR updates which most who have access to the CE Vendor will probably agree that there haven't been regular updates. From the original announcement: Collector’s Edition Store. At launch the Collector’s Edition Store will be available to those who have the Collector’s Edition of The Old Republic, and will feature items found nowhere else in the game! The Collector’s Edition will be stocked with exclusive social items for yourself, and unique appearances for your companion. The store will also have regular updates to give players incentive to keep coming back. Link: http://www.swtor.com/info/news/news-article/20111021
  5. The way I headcannoned it... With my bounty hunter he snuggled up with Oggurobb and his underground contacts behind the scenes and we were creating a mercenary army to ensure that when it was over we could be the new Novablades/Black Sun. With my smuggler, I snuggled up to Hylo Visz behind the scenes and we used the conflict to build the largest smuggling ring in the galaxy.
  6. I think the changes they are making are positive, but for me personally they aren't enough. I love making and playing alts, I usually play solo, and occasionally do ops when I'm on and can/want to get into groups, and pvp. I like to do it all. In that order (of preference). IMO this did nothing/very little to help the alt lover play-style. They have done nothing but add grind since 4.0 (grindy alliance system & now galactic command) and for me this has pushed it over the top. Because of my preferred play style (alts and solo) I will have a hard time doing ops and pvp (which I also enjoy semi-regularly) because it takes too long to grind for the gear and not even just the gear, the levels to obtain the better gear too. I only got 3-4 of my 30ish toons to 65 in the last expansion because replaying the story more than a couple of times was boring and the thought of grinding alliance was painful. With an even increased grind just to get to the point where I can get decent gear from the crates, more than one (if that) geared toon is highly unlikely. Galactic Command (especially with 300 slow grindy levels that determine the level of gear you MIGHT receive) should not have even been considered as a character specific system. For a game that started so alt friendly and with the different stories almost making alts a must I am very disappointed with the grindy path that SWTOR is going down.
  7. Don't get your hopes up the radio control ship from last anniversary is still 400CC to unlock.
  8. I was under the impression from what Eric said in the live-stream that top item level gear would be able to be crafted (great for crafters, I think) it just won't have the set bonuses. Now, I may be stupid on this subject (as long as I have played I have never really gotten into the higher level nightmare raiding) but are set bonuses really necessary other than for min/maxing? Now if I am wrong in my interpretations this does kind of suck for F2P or Preferred players if: 1. You need the set bonuses to complete nightmare raids or 2. Crafters won't be able to craft the highest rating gear just without set bonuses. Why? They would basically be taking away their access to something they previously had access to.
  9. I updated to the new ones to test it and so far I haven't seen the issue pop up again. I think it is fixed.
  10. The issue started with NVIDIA update: 372.54 released on 8/25. Does anyone know if their most recent update 372.70 (released on 8/30) fixed this issue? I rolled back to 368.81 and don't want to update again if it isn't fixed.
  11. Granted, I didn't read everything but I have to disagree with the assumption that sub rewards are vital to keeping players. As others have stated new/interesting content is the way to keep your players... Subscriber rewards are how you keep people subscribing once those new/interesting things have started to run a little stale and before new content is added. What I would prefer to see is a token system. You get one token for every month you are subscribed and one premium token every three (or six) months. With the regular token you can pick up vet rewards like the HK helmet or HK weapon set but with the premium token you can pick up premium rewards like maybe Nico. All rewards should always be available so that subscribers can pick and choose the ones they want. This way newer subscribers could pick older rewards at the expense of newer rewards. Also, if there is something a subscriber doesn't want/like they can just hold onto their token in case they miss a month of subscription or after three (or six) regular tokens they could trade them for a premium token. Ideally this would be on a new tab in the CM for easy access.
  12. I leveled a Togruta Sith warrior and on Korriban I was referred to as a pure-blood Sith (I just head cannoned that because I chose the red Togruta skin that maybe they are just nearsighted and only see a red blur) but then in the rest of the game I was referred to as an alien.
  13. True, but you know it's gotta suck... EricMusco sit's down at his desk, "Let me check the forums and see what the playerbase is up to... Oh $h17 not again... D@*% it devs!" Thread 1: "Sorry guys." Thread 2: "My apologies" Thread 3: "Oops our bad." It has to be frustrating.
  14. I feel somewhat sorry for EricMusco... (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here.) http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=891500&page=3 Yet another stealth "fix" that he has to come by and say sorry for... Despite what someone has said earlier in this thread... There is a pattern of stealth nerf/fixes by Bioware. Whether it is intentional or not is irrelevant.
  15. Insignificant to you. Tell us Bruticis how many credits do you have across all of your characters? I would be willing to bet you are probably between 50-100 million (or more), if not I apologize for the assumption. Personally, I have plenty of credits (But a few more never hurts. Am I right?), I've been playing since beta, but not everyone who plays this game has plenty of credits. Most of the really cool stuff is really expensive on the GTN because some of that stuff is pretty darn old. Treasure hunting was a fairly painless way to create a little nest egg of credits on your way to level 65 and beyond. Maybe you get to pick up that set of armor you've been eyeing or that new lightsaber. Now they have taken that away all in the name of, what we all assume is, credit sellers. And it probably is the biggest reason for it, but the question you have to ask yourself is: Are the few million less credits a day a credit seller has to sell worth the new player who now quits or, god forbid, turns to said credit seller to feel as though they can compete or afford that nice shiny? Credit sellers aren't going anywhere. They've been around as long as MMOs have been around and they will be around long after SWTOR closes its doors. Turning off a new player who was making some decent credits through treasure hunting is the real issue here. Players like you and I who have been around a while, this won't effect anything but our opinion of Bioware for yet another stealth nerf and even more things that many view as underhanded. Now is keeping a few million credits out of a credit sellers hands (who isn't going anywhere) worth players quitting or becoming frustrated with the game? Personally, if one person stops subbing or playing because of this nerf, I would say no.
  16. You could only get rich by constantly farming the TH lock-boxes, but for low level characters it definitely helped get you to the point where you could buy a few nice things off the exchange. Very disappointed that they decided to nerf this, especially in such a sneaky way... Hello Bioware, you've let the exchange get out of hand with the super rare cartel packs items that people have a hard time getting their hands on... Don't screw up one of the few ways that people could actually afford to get some of those nice things off of it. You are NEVER going to get rid of gold farmers... It's been a problem in every MMO ever made... Stop cutting off your nose to spite your face... Heroics and TH lock-boxes helped your legitimate players. Stop screwing the people that play your game.
  17. So I logged in and with no warning treasure hunting lock boxes are no longer dropping credits. Since this wasn't in the patch notes I was just wondering if this was intended (I would lay money it was) or not. Either way if it was intended that was a pretty messed up thing to do with no warning.
  18. I think the fallen empire refers to Zakuul. The term knights... I have two theories: I base these on my own desires, how I would do it, and a few random lines through the chapters that lead me to believe a certain character is actually alive. 1. This refers to Arkaan and Thexan. Yes, I think Thexan is still alive. I think Thexan is actually Vaylin... In drag... I kid. I kid, but I do think he is still alive. I think he will come back to help you overthrow his brother. In the end you will have two choices. DS you give in to Valkorian and let him take over Thexan and take the throne. LS Thexan helps you purge him and you let him take the throne. 2. It refers to Vaylin and Thexan. Thexan comes in to help you kill his brother. Arcaan pisses off Vaylin who begrudgingly offers to help you. In the end you have two choices. DS let Valkorian take over Vaylin and take the throne. LS Thexan helps you purge him and he takes the throne. What do I base this on? Just my own crazy theory based on how I would like to see the story go and how I would personally write it. For some reason I really want Thexan to still be alive... And have since he died in the trailers. Anyway just my crazy thoughts...
  19. This makes me happy that since Treek was released I have almost solely played with her... I really have no emotional connection with any of my companions, even the rare ones I romanced. I have ran four of my toons through FE and the only reason I have stopped is because the mere thought of doing the alliance/influence grind on more than one character is physically painful.
  20. I'm not worried about the content being solo-able at all... I am sure it will be. It was before 4.0 and it was after. My concern is that the Heroic grind you have to do for your alliance and to get free companion gifts is going to take longer than it did... The Heroic grind was already slow enough. I was hoping for a quicker heroic grind not a slower one... Doing the same things over and over again is not my idea of fun and now that it will probably be slower than ever... Let's just say I will play it later today and see how much slower it is and make my decision then. I'm not saying I plan to quit, but I definitely won't play as much and keeping my subscription current will no longer be a priority... I may drop off for a month or two and then come back for a month where before I planned to play straight through the story releases. Maxing out all of my toons was never a priority anyway once this alliance grind was introduced. I'll probably max out a Imp and a Pub and be done with it. The only way I would do more is to make the heroic grind faster or introduce legacy alliance/companion influence instead of by character. I have heard many people complain that this doesn't make since but it does... If you go in your legacy window you can connect all of your toons together as spouses, children, allies, etc... Why is it so hard to believe that because a companion knew your wife, ally, child... that they don't also know you and whether they respect or detest you they still know who you are and are INFLUENCED by you. Anyway here is hoping the grind isn't more grindier after this patch and that the consider the legacy influence system sooner rather than later.
  21. You guys are looking at this all wrong... Senya is the cougar that teaches you a thing or two... Vailyn is the crazy girl you just can't quite seem to quit even though you know shes terrible for you... that is until you meet... Lana who you take home to mom and marry. Too bad you can't romance them like that... LOL
  22. No it actually says: In my opinion seems is the most important word in that sentence... I would be willing to wager he returns at some point.
  23. For those wanting a male forcewielding companion, I would almost bet money we get Cytharat back at some point (I say almost because some could have killed him and BW may not have the balls to introduce companions some people can't have). Also I am officially making this prediction: At some point we will find out Thexxan isn't actually dead and he joins us.
  24. Not to mention that once you have bought everything you can or want with basic comms (whatever the equivalent is now) that the only thing to really buy with them is companion gifts and by doing the Heroics you get a ton of basics.
