  1. The problem is you're doing the wrong spec for what you want to do. Go Advanced Prototype, and simply use ion instead, Its simply better flat out then Shield line with DPS gear. That is the spec I ran before Pyro, and it was simply much better then Shield Tech. you're also beefier since every time you get stunned, you take a flat 20% less damage, and thats when most people use their nasty abilities.
  2. I have a Marauder, but I don't play my Marauder My mains are my powertech and sniper, both which have zero trouble killing a healer or multiple healers.
  3. They're most likely making it actually increase damage of Ion, I'm not even sure it worked before hand. Ion damage was just pitiful.
  4. Yea i misread the Flameburst part, they upped Flame Sweeps damage. Anyway Flame Shield - This is a reduction in Crit Chance and it is a damage reduction Flame Surge - This isn't dropping the crit damage down from Flame Surge, It's just changing the ability to a flat 12% damage Bonus to Flame Sweep vs a 30% crit damage bonus. It's also giving ya 2 Free Ones after a Charge. Which is pretty huge in the damage department in terms of AOE. This is a damage nerf on Rocketpunch, however it is a HUGE damage buff on Flame Sweep Ion is also receiving a 25% damage bonus (maybe it won't suck anymore) which is nice because it procs damn near on everything, and It can also be applied AOE by Railshot, So like I said, they're basically moving what damage a PT had over to other abilities (rocket punch accounted for 25% of the damage of a Pt). Just having the ability to apply 2 Free 4% damage Reductions on multiple targets is nice itself.
  5. They basically nerfed Rocket Punches damage, and instead moved it over to Flame Sweep/Flameburst/Ion. I prefer the new changes to be honest, because you weren't really going to kill anyone with just Rocket punch anyway.
  6. Clearly these people have never run in a 4 man Pyro powertech team. They'd see how laughable healers really are.
  7. I have never feared a team in my life that has brought 4 Healers into a Warfront. You're pretty much insuring you won't be taking any objectives with a moronic setup like that.
  8. Yes this must be it, Every healer on my entire server just sucks ***, and It's not you as a lone player who has trouble with healers. It must be the entire server... *grin*
  9. if it's taking 2 or 3 people to kill a single healer, then that's the fault of the 2 or 3 people. Esp 3, Which blows my mind...I mean If it's a Tank + Healer, it might slow me down a bit if it's just 1 of me, But if there is 2 other DPS with me, We'll explode that person even guarded and probably kill the tank at the same time. I mean really, If you have 2 DPS in this game, there is really nothing that should be giving you trouble.
  10. you might have to blow your cooldowns, but I certainly do not. By the way, Healer teams were never unkillable, only Bad DPS couldn't take on Healer teams.
  11. No one here is bringing up the most important change. "The amount absorbed by Shield Probe now scales properly based on character stats."
  12. It kind of reminds me of Mythic Nerfing Savages before TOA came out by reducing their Quad hit rate and increase Triple hits. At the time a lot of savages were mad, and then TOA came out and our best weapon went from 4.0 to 4.4 Delay, That is a HUGE amount of burst damage in DAOC. If it had come out and we kept the Quad Rate we had, the damage would of just been silly. This is just like that, They've reduced the active buffs because it allowed high burst, But more so probably because they're about to allow you to Augment basically every piece of your gear. That would be a huge increase in damage for a whole lot of classes, it will probably push my Sniper to over 2000 Cunning to be flat out honest, which would be silly with Adrenals and Relics working how they did.
  13. Personally I'm still amazed that every MMO released doesn't have Server Transfers available from the start. I mean, you have countless MMO's since WoW that prove you need this feature pretty soon after launch because of the way MMO's work now a days (Aka, WoW players dog pile it, then leave, causing massive empty servers) Honestly though, what makes it even worse though, is the fact Bioware didn't have Server Transfers available before Diablo 3 release, which is pretty stupid on any companies part.
  14. 1. Huttball Everything else is pretty much **** compared to every other MMO in terms of Gameplay. If huttball didn't exist, i simply wouldn't pvp in this game or play it.
  15. If you have 2-3 PT's in your Warfront, it's not Taunt that's killing your damage, it's the fact they're steam rolling over you. We run 4 Man PT Pyro tech groups in the guild I'm in.... lets just say you don't need healers when you have that.
  16. A. You'd die along with the healer you're guarding, because I can put out more DPS then your healer can heal you both for. B. Not only would you die, you'd not come close to doing any damage what so ever to actually be a threat to either the Healer or Me as the DPS. In fact your damage would be so piss poor, the Healer himself could DPS as well and we'd be fine.
  17. I like how people keep spreading the biggest load of BS i've seen on this forum, that Snipers counter Marauders/Sent's. I'm pretty sure Marauders/Sent's started that line of BS so they could trick people into believing they had a counter.. "Well the reason i'm doing so good is no one is playing my counter which is a Sniper" Which cracks me up, cause if you ever lose to a Sniper on a Marauder, you're bad... and I mean completely terrible should quit the game and break your computer bad.
  18. I have a full tank set for my Powertech, and i've tanked... everything he says is true... you're slightly harder to kill, But that's it... I'll use an example. Take a DPS/Healer, and take a Tank/healer.. and have them fight.. I bet you 100% of the time the DPS/Healer win.
  19. So what you're saying is, Only DPS classes should be able to use their utility (aka Marauder/Sniper) While Tanks/Healers cannot if they're not specced that way? Since i assume healers would no longer be able to heal unless they were in their "healing" stance. PS, no one is tired of this by the way...

  21. Rofl... A. a Tank Vanguard in DPS gear puts out no where near the DPS of a Commando who's specced DPS. Survivability will come down to what spec the Commando is using, if he's using a healing type spec, he will last longer in a fight then a Tank Vanguard in DPS gear. B. If a Tank Vanguard in dps gear/healer is holding a point against 5-6 people for any length of time greater then 10-15 seconds, That is 5-6 terribly geared players on your crap server. You realize that I could absolutely plow through you and your Guard bot vanguard in dps gear on my Pyro, let alone if you're unlucky to run across me and a second DPS. C. If your Vanguard is specced Tank Spec, and in DPS gear, in closing he's an idiot.. There is another spec that is VASTLY superior to it if you want to play the DPS tank. It's called Tactics, and that is what you play if you want to play that type of character, Simply load up on DPS gear, switch to the Tank Stance, and play Tactic Spec. You're not able to come close to the DPS of a real DPS, but you can off tank and provide guard and you do vastly more damage then the actual Tank Line with DPS gear.
  22. You understand no one is complaining about Guardians or Powertech's who run their Tank Stance Right? When someone says "Pyro Powertech is overpowered" They're not talking about someone running ion cell, they're talking about someone running CGC. A Pyro Tech is not tanky by any standard. The only class right now that is able to do someone decent damage and tank at same time, is the Assassin, and even then, They're winning long drawn out fights with moderate dps/good tanking/moderate healing. They're not out dpsing any actual DPSer, You will never see an assassin who's tank spec with DPS gear approach anywhere near the DPS of a Pyro, Marauder, Sniper. As for Powertech's in general, All Bioware has to do to make Pyro Less played is make Shield Tech actually viable in PvP, i mean it's alright...but its not really needed when you can just explode people guarded now cause of the DPS in the game.
  23. I actually dislike some of the comparisons to Rift End Game PvP, because lets face it, Rifts End Game PvP is superior to this games End game PvP. A. Rift has more maps then SWTOR, and other then Huttball, everyone of them is flat out better then SWTOR's Version. B. Rift actually has character advancement in PvP, not just gear Advancement. C. Rift actually had open world PvP, Not only that, it was actually functional and could actually be played. D. Rift is about to have 3 Faction PvP, 1.9 Patch includes a Massive reworked Stillmoor where 3 Factions go head to head over it. E. It has actual Cross Server War Fronts, It's also got a Merc system where if one side doesn't have enough players, it'll switch the people from the other faction over to fill up the map. F. None of the maps are limited to just 8v8 cause the game can only support 8v8 without it lagging out. So in regards to Rift, SWTOR wishes it could even begin to compete with Rift's PvP mistakes, let alone it's success.
  24. I liked Rift's LFG tool, when it was cross server, just like I liked it in every other game i've played. That is for PVE, for PvP I would prefer same server LFG tools, however when population drops, you simply have to go to Cross Server period.
  25. A. Star Wars is not a failure, in pretty much every realistic term it has done well. Has it done WoW well? No, however most MMO's don't do what WoW has done. B. Star Wars problem is the same as every other MMO released since WoW, and that is that WoW exists. Before WoW came out, you ended up having MMO's be released, have 12 or so servers and 200-300k population. This kept the game active. It doesn't work like this anymore, You look at any MMO released since then and you see that everyone of them has to have far far to many servers at launch because a bunch of bored WoW players are dog piling the servers. Then the leave after one month leaving those servers empty, which causes the whole "Game is dying post" when in reality, every MMO experience's this it just wasn't as pronounced before WoW came out. C. The solution to this problem is simple, Don't release your MMO without server transfers at the start. If you were to cut SWTOR's servers in half right now, the game would probably have a pretty healthy population, Right now that population is spread out on far to many servers. D. Warhammer suffered the same fate as SWTOR is now, however what remains to be seen is how much support SWTOR's gets from EA. they were working on a War expansion pack when it was canceled after EA decided that it wasn't going to have WoW population. That's he death kneel for these MMO's, What people forget is Expansions are not only for bringing new players in, They're for keeping old players and bring old players back. So if this game doesn't have an expansion announced within a year, You know that support for it has pretty much ceased.
