  1. Marksmanship is good for taking out Light Targets, and its burst is pretty much better then Engineer. However I find my Engineer to be a bit more fun then Marksmanship, Mainly because by the time the burst starts happening on ya from the spec, you can't escape to LoS it usually. IP/PP on top of ya, followed by EP and SoS is pretty much death for most classes in this game.....
  2. Actually how is this not surprising in the least? What is your average group setup for Rated WZ's 4 DPS/2 Healers/2 Tanks. You get to many tanks, you don't kill anything, you get to many Healers again... you don't kill anything.. Which DPS classes are you going to stack in this game the most? The Melee DPS ones basically.. Which consists of Marauders/PT's Operatives make better healers, and Assassins are better for tanking and ball running then Powertech's Bout the only class that is under-represented is probably the Sniper, but realistically you probably only want 1 of those anyway. I'd be willing to be most Rank Warzone teams are running 4 Marauders or 4 PT's, or a combination of the two... Tank Wise, you want a Juggy/Assassin probably as your tanks, Healer Wise, Operative is probably wanted with either a Merc or Sorc as your secondary healer..probably a Sorc..
  3. This is true, it is much easier to LoS my Sniper then my Powertech. But my sniper puts out more burst, Uptime i'd probably say my Powertech has more "durability" but i'd say my sniper is more annoying till i die... Mainly because if I catch you out solo on my Sniper, and I want to be a dick...I don't actually have to kill ya, I can basically perma keep you in the area with CC alone.
  4. Playing my Sniper and PT, I honestly think I do more burst with my Sniper then PT now, my PT's just is a bit easier and more mobile. I end up doing less damage then my PT, but I think that has more to do with the fact that my PT has a Dot on his main attack which makes up a lot of damage in the fight. But My PT still doesn't approach the Burst of a sniper on some classes, I mean I've hit for over 5k on Ambush and 4k on FT almost instantly....
  5. The spec is fun if ya have healers and a group, as Plasma Probe and Cannon ontop of yourself will quickly kill large groups.. solo, i think Marksman might be a bit better though...
  6. I'm going to guess because Juggernauts can do AOE Clump Burst similar to a PT while having Charge and a knockback and better defensive cooldowns?
  7. Another possible way to fix this is to make Tanks actual tanks in this game.. When playing my Sniper i notice it some what.. However on my Marauder/PT i just blow through tanks just the same as any other class. When ya had a Blackguard in Warhammer Online, you had an extremely annoying extremely hard to kill class harassing you it was not amusing as a DPS or a healer. Tanks in this game are basically Guard/Taunt bots with no real utility over any other class.. and even then, Guard often ends up just getting ya killed if its two competent DPS on the target you're on.. make actual tanks annoying and a hindrance to DPS classes, like Burst ones.. and you might have balance if ya don't want to touch healers...
  8. Not to mention you can't guard as a Pyro Powertech, nor would you want to.
  9. I think Big damage hits like that are probably 2 hits going off at the same time when the target dies, so I bet it registers it as a single hit. Most likely Railshot/TD and Ambush/FT or Takedown or FT/Takedown at the same time. A Single PT isn't that bad, when i play my Sniper I can take out a single PT rather easily, it's when ya start stacking the class it gets nasty. But then again most Burst classes are that way, Simply put...Healing in this game cannot keep up with Burst after say 2 DPS classes like Snipers/Marauders/PT's get on the target. You basically have to run a Tank/2 Healers just to try and combat damage in this game because its gotten out of hand. But that's mainly Biowares fault for nerfing Healing in the first place.

  11. I'm curious when back peddling became something nubs would talk about.. Cause honestly, during DAOC's time, if you weren't back peddling as a melee class in a 1v1, you were doing it wrong.. Must be something bad WoW players thought up.

  13. Yea, I got the full tree, i actually started dropping snipe from my build, instead just using Grenades since they're the same cost, instant cast, and get the benefits of Engineering Tree, oh and AOE. EP, with IP/PP on the target with SoS is actually really good burst.

  16. Not sure why, when I tried it before the patch, I did not like it. But I think the change to Cluster Bombs just makes the spec a bit better at bursting people which help. My only problem is it you're basically forced into doing Snipe/Ambush while EP and Series of Shot are on cooldown. I'd actually like it if Overload shot would be more of Engineers go to nuke in that case, Maybe a way to add a Dot attack to it or something, that'd fit nicely with the spec.
  17. I think I might of ran into that, I was force lifted on the Fire pit, and took the full duration of the force lift (fire didn't kill me because I think force lift applies a damage reduction or something) but still, I was surprised it dind't break.
  18. No, it's not just lag.. When you do it 3 times in a single match, at the exact same spot, and ONLY you are doing it, then it's not just lag. It's like saying Window Dragging Bards in DAOC was "Just lag"
  19. It blows, and actually makes me not want to play the spec anymore.
  20. Its not lag from height change, its called cable pulling or screen dragging, take your pick. Seen quite a few people start doing it now a days, They get to the firepit, then all of a sudden they "lag" past it, even if they were just walking across it from level ground. Phix on Fatman is real bad about doing it.
  21. Yea you keep saying this, but everyone who isn't bad at DPS doesn't have this trouble, I didn't have this trouble on Belgoth's Beacon, and i don't have this trouble on Fatman, we roll over your multiple heal BS quite easily.
  22. Yea i don't know who you're kidding, But when I group with my guild, we just mow through any healers who are crossing healing if there is at least 2 of us on the target. Honestly to stand up against good dps, you need 2 healers and a tank guarding the person getting beat on.

Oh no doubt, I mean I've been reading these posts for a while by bads on this forum who are like "Well you just don't have any good healers on your server" which is hilarious, because its basically saying "i'm not bad, your entire servers healers are bad!!" So I get my server transferred to Fatman, and sure enough, still just taking a crap on Healers left and Right with them having little recourse. Oh I want to also cover another topic, The whines I see about the 5 healer groups, I'm sure i'm not the only one who absolutely loves seeing 5 healer groups? They're such a push over, you basically take a dump on the 3 dps and then you have 5 people healing one another not able to do squat to anyone.
  24. If it requires 2 DPS for you to take on a single healer in this game, then you're one of those bads that I see running around in crap PvE gear.
  25. He didn't play a Pyro powertech in beta.. Second, you didn't follow the rules of MMO's is why you didn't roll a powertech. Rules of MMO's for noobies 1. Roll a Stealther 2. If a Stealther is not available, or you don't want to, Roll something with Fire.
