  1. How far have you actually gotten? Tatooine during beta sustained 400 empire in one instance alone. The smaller planets have smaller caps.
  2. Well I find it far more likely that SWTOR groups are far better at social activity than anything you get in WoW these days. See what I did there? Your opinion is just as worthless as mine. The community issue is hardly why Bioware is not implementing a flashpoint finder. It has to do with content consumption and subscription longevity. But they can't say that is their reason or it will rile up the masses.
  3. Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. In every flashpoint I've done people talk periodically throughout and I've never seen a person need stuff that isn't for their class. Guess you have bad luck or are on a server full of WoW's finest.
  4. So happy about this news. Automated dungeon finders ruin my fun.
  5. The bioware decsion making is more important than the voice acting to me. The voice acting is awesome too though. So I'd probably still play it, but I'd be going through it faster.
  6. I never played EQ however I know how big of a grind it was. Most of my friends played it at the time. I did play in classic WoW. And there were tons of places you had no quests and had to grind. I know what I'm talking about here. They substantially upped the xp after beta when people were able to level too quickly and that was one of the results. But it definitely paid off. Mid 40s and after 55 were awful due to lack of quests. At several points it was just 4-5 hours a night of grinding pirates or undead. Was it an EQ grind? Hell no, but it was far beyond anything we see today in MMOs. It was still months of time spent leveling unless you bought or torrented a speed leveling guide. Even when I tried that to compare it took 1 1/2 months instead of 3 1/2 at a 30-50 hour a week pace. Do I want SW:TOR to be that slow? No, but I'd like to see it actually take most 2-3 months.
  7. Rested xp cap is at least a level maybe 2. It speeds things up considerably. 2 hours a day is just enough to use up the daily cap and will put you 7-8 levels ahead of content instead of just 4-5. Sounds great
  8. You are so wrong about WoW I doubt you even played it before WOTLK. It was faster than EQ, and more solo friendly. But it was a very long grind after beta. And that is why the casuals continued to play. Especially since the end game content was awful for anyone who didn't raid in classic. The reason it succeeded is the same thing SW:TOR is trying to do. Consume time so you keep coming back, while still being fun. Its done differently in TOR, but with it being so dependent on cutscenes its even more at risk for content consumption acceleration and loss of subs as a result.
  9. So wrong. The less you play the more you'll outlevel content due to rested XP. I've been playing for just as long and am lower level than you and I still think it is way too fast. The game is great but the leveling speed is going to severely hurt it long term. If it was designed to skip half the quests, they'd have made the class quests not go right through every single quest hub. If I got overleveled because I did a bunch of quests from a mysterious quest hub I had to explore to find, I'd have no issue. That would be great and give incentives to explore to find more cotnent. But the way the game is designed, they want you to go along and pick up all the quests along the way.
  10. WoW. In classic hardcore players took months to hit 60 and many casuals spent 4-6 months leveling to 60 when it was first relased. It didn't begin to stagnate gaining subs until leveling speed began to be trivialized. Once it was completely overhauled and made into a joke it is now, it is hemorraging subscriptions. WoW got to where it was today because the worlds were always alive for many years because it was soloable yet took time so people kept coming back.
  11. I agree. I'd be more ok with skipping quests hubs here and there if the class story didn't take you right through each one. But they do so its obviously intended to tackle quests you come across.
  12. I find it fun and would rather spend 6 months leveling than less than 1. MMOs that were successful and gained subs had long leveling.
  13. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE ADVICE. If you take a break you'll come back with a massive amount of rested XP and outlevel planets even faster than before. The complaints aren't about the speed of the content.. Its about outleveling content that you are guided through without even completing all the content let alone participate in flashpoints, warzones, or space missions.
  14. I actually really loved Nar Shaddaa. Its a very big city instead of an expansive planet. Its a good change of pace. It is visually stunning too.
  15. Where are you questing. Up until Nar Shaddaa(20-25) zone you don't earn a ton of credits. And are you looting and selling everything? Maybe you'll actually answer, the last 2 people in this thread I tried to help don't even respond and just keep whining. Also you should avoid sending crew on missions for gathering. Just rely on the nodes as you quest.
  16. Rift's collectors edition was just the equivalent to the digital deluxe. You can already upgrade to the digital deluxe for $20.
  17. I have been crafting all along and had 70k at 25. You need to not be stupid and buy overpriced mats from the GTN. And gather most or all mats yourself. Missions professions on the other hand are a pretty big money sink, but I still did a pretty large chunk at that time and had little issue. Its all about looting everything, selling, and doing missions. And leaving Balmorra/Taris at 20 like you are supposed to. That is the most critical step.
  18. So you played the beta and didn't pay attention enough or completely ignored the price when the live game came out until after you hit 25? Loot and vendor everything. You don't even need to bother with the GTN. Or maybe you are way overleveld for your planet. If you spent any time on Nar Shaddaa looting and doing missions you'd have earned 30k an hour.
  19. Most gear isn't worth the price being asked. I keep myself outfitted from commendation vendors alone. I still run a ton of missions and had a ton of credits. Gathering missions are a waste though, because you can just get those nodes while leveling. My crafting is within 20-30 of my gathering so you can still do both if you farm yourself instead of buy. It seems smart money management is difficult to teach. Some people get it, and many others just don't.
  20. Nar Shaddaa. Went from 20k credits to like 70k in 3 levels.
  21. Yes, its a learn 2 play issue. A lot of people are used to autoattacking to victory in a certain other MMO.
  22. You mad bro? Go respec then. I did it twice a week for arena for 6 months or so.
  23. Not to mention 30k isn't all that much. It sounds like WoW where it eventually went up to 50gold if you respecced enough. which is around the equivalent of 150k credits in this game.
  24. It works good for me. I used the numlock keys and bound one of my quickslot bars to it.
  25. All I do is raid in WoW and its what I am going to be doing when I hit max level here. I am leveling as a tank and completely understand why people don't want dual spec. Dual spec encourages the tuning of content to require more specific roles and classes. Now instead of being tuned for multiple tanks or sub optimal classes they make some fights 1 tank fights and one tank is forced to dual spec into a dps spec. Or figths that require specific perfectly optimal specs. Part of the fun of classic WoW and TOR is trying different things. Using partial healing, partial dps specs to be able to heal and dps while leveling. Dual spec will eliminate that and basically force people into playing cookie cutter builds all the time and not just when min/maxing for nightmare content. That said, I am middle of the road on dual spec. I don't care if it gets implemented, but I won't be upset if it doesn't get implemented. Advanced class swapping is a complete other issue altogether that should never be allowed.
