  1. Precisely. As I've said before, if we enjoyed doing Heroics, we'd be doing them already. The latest changes are great for people who were already doing Heroics, but the rest of us are still facing a long, tedious grind to achieve the same goals we were able to before. For me, personally, the game is simply more boring now than it was before the "Advancement : Reputation" nerf. That's just not a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Well, my subscription runs out in a few days, and I've already found myself becoming enthused with a new activity, so this will be the end of the line for me.
  2. For me at least, this changes nothing. The reason that Advancement : Reputation was so valuable was that it allowed us to skip some of the boring, tedious farming of the same material that we've already done to death. If the game had newer, fresher material, it wouldn't be so bad. So they completely obliterate the value of Advancement : Reputation, so now we're faced with a long, tedious grind to meet our Conquest goals, and their solution is to ... ... have us do the long, tedious grind to meet our Conquest goals. See the problem? If we enjoyed doing Heroics, we'd be doing them already. Replacing Advancement : Reputation with Heroics doesn't make the game more fun, it makes it more boring. They want us to play the game more. I have a better idea ... I'll just find another game that I actually enjoy doing.
  3. Actually, that IS why people are upset about the nerf to this Conquest Objective. This has actually been stated a number of times on different threads here about this. The reason that "Advancement : Reputation" was so important to many players was because it gave them a way to skip past a significant amount of the tedious, repetitive grinding needed to reach Conquest point goals. Without the Objective, we now have to kill a lot more of the mobs that we've already killed thousands of times before, and farm the Heroics that we've already done ad nauseam. If we had newer, fresher content that we aren't already bored to death with to complete for Conquest Points, then people wouldn't be so upset. The reason that so many players are ready to unsubscribe over this is because they don't want to have to farm that tiresome old content even more to get the same results they had before.
  4. I can only speak for myself, but if that was the intent of the nerf, then it backfired about as badly as it could have. Since Tuesday, I have not been playing the game more. I have not been playing it at all. When progressing through the game becomes slower, more tedious, and more boring ... Why would that make me want to play the game more? I haven't even bothered to log in to earn Login Rewards, which is something I have done every day for a very long time, even during the months that I was taking a break from the game and no longer actively playing it. And I am not the only one who has. At least I am giving the developers a chance to make amends. Some players I know have already cancelled their subscriptions and uninstalled the game from their computers.
  5. I would be a great deal more disappointed at how little romance the "Date Night" cutscenes actually gave us ... if it wasn't for the fact that I had learned, from previous experience, not to expect much to begin with. I would be a great deal more disappointed at the lack of a Reputation track in Galactic Season 6 ... if it wasn't for the fact that those Reputation tokens have very little value now that they've obliterated the Conquest Objective for using them. Honestly ... I renewed my subscription on Monday, all set for the new Galactic Season, but if I had known that this Season was going to require about five or six times more grinding than I was expecting it to, I probably would have thought twice about resubscribing.
  6. I renewed my subscription on Monday, feeling eager to start the new Galactic Season. Had I known that this season was going to require five or six times as much grinding as I was expecting, I probably would have thought twice about resubscribing.
  7. A chess game? That's your idea of a date? You can't be serious. That certainly would have been nice. My expectations were not anywhere near that high, but I was still dismayed by how little they gave us for how much they hyped this up. Honestly, they could have just added these little cutscenes to a standard storyline expansion. It's about what they're worth.
  8. I think you kind of missed his point. You said that people can click off the snowball buff if it bothers them. He was just pointing out that that doesn't work, because they'll just get hit with more snowballs. Personally, I don't care about the snowballs at all, but I do understand why people might find it annoying. And since this is an entertainment activity, I don't think it's unreasonable for them to ask for something in the game that bothers them to be changed.
  9. When the game first came out, a lot of things didn't exist yet. Just off the top of my head - Collections, Legacy, Starfighter, Strongholds, Conquest, Level Sync, every planet after Corellia, every experience level after 50. I figure that every person asking for a classic server probably has a different idea of which time the classic server should be from.
  10. When I worked in customer service, I always did what I could for the customers, within the restrictions of my job. One thing that always bothered me was when customers acted like they were entitled to have the store or company make up for problems that the customers themselves caused. It would be one thing if the appliance you want to return actually was defective when you took it out of the box, but if the reason that it doesn't work is because you dropped it down the stairwell of your building while you were carrying it up to your apartment ... If I wanted to return an item to a store after the 14-day or 30-day return period has expired, I would understand that I am asking them to do me a favor by making an exception to their return policy. I would not act like I was entitled to have an exception made for me. When you purchase an item from the Cartel Market, all of the information is available to you. You are told the price and what you are getting for that price. If I'm not mistaken, there is a popup window telling you that you cannot get a refund for an item after you claim it from the "Unclaimed Items" section. Your Collections interface will tell you whether or not you already have it unlocked. None of this information is hidden. If you failed to look up the information before buying the item, that's your mistake. I simply don't agree that you are entitled to have the company compensate you for your own mistake. I don't know what they can or cannot do. If they can do it and are choosing not to, then the question for me becomes why aren't they doing it. Maybe they have limited resources and staff, and there simply aren't enough hours in the day to perform the refunds that players would want. Also, if they allow refunds for players who mistakenly buy items that they already have in Collections, should they also give refunds to players who buy an item and simply change their minds and decide they don't want it? There is no doubt in my mind that if they give a refund to a player who buys an item without realizing it was already unlocked in Collections, then other players will say, "Well, obviously they can refund coins since they did it for that person, so why can't they give me a refund for mine since I don't want it anymore?" What if a person bought an armor set for a character, set it up in Outfitter for the character's appearance, and then asked for a refund for the armor set? Should the company be expected to go through everything about a character or account to remove everything that the item was used for as part of the return? Because if they don't, I can guarantee you that some people will buy an item, use it for a specific purpose, and then ask to return it. Maybe it's just a cleaner, simpler solution not to allow any refunds on items once they're in the character's inventory.
  11. Everybody, thank you very much for your help. I appreciate it. It looks like I do not have "Shroud of Memory" unlocked on this account, so I'm glad I had the chance to pick it up while it was discounted to 50%. Thank you again.
  12. I am reactivating an account that I haven't logged in to for a while. I noticed that the HK-55 chapter "Shroud of Memory" is discounted to 1,900 CC for today. The thing is, I can't remember if I unlocked the chapter on my account the last time I played it. Is there any way to find out if the chapter is already unlocked on an account?
  13. I'm not sure I've ever heard of an issue like this before. Have you tried opening a ticket in-game and asking them for help? If it's just the one account that you're having problems with, and other Star Wars : The Old Republic accounts work fine, then the problem might be with the account itself. Although, if that was the case, you would think that you wouldn't be able to log in with the account at all. You did say that it gets stuck on the loading screen, so I assume that the launcher did accept your login information (username, password, and security key if you have one). That's the only advice I can think to give you. Try asking Customer Service for help. Good luck to you.
  14. Every time that World of Warcraft sold or gave out Character Boosts (which would automatically make a character Level 70, Level 80, Level 90, or whatever), it created a huge amount of frustration among veteran end-game players, because it meant that group content was going to be flooded with players who bought their high-level characters, and were going in with mediocre equipment and, more importantly, NO IDEA how to actually play the characters. What Star Wars : The Old Republic is doing here isn't much different. They're essentially bribing players to participate in group content that the players have no interest in. And because they have no interest in it, they also have never acquired any real knowledge or skill for it. I agree with the people who say that this ruins the content for the players who actually want to do it. My character might be Level 75 with solid gear, but believe me, you don't want me as an ally in PVP or in an Operation.
  15. I really like this idea. If you have any significant number of characters, it can be really difficult to keep track of what direction each character's storyline was going in. When you return to a character you haven't played in a while, it can be maddening trying to remember which of several paths the character was taking. I have a friend who was an avid player of World of Warcraft and Star Wars : The Old Republic. After taking a break from online gaming for a couple of years, she finally came back. But while it was easy for her to resume playing her old WoW characters, she hardly touched her SW:TOR characters because she couldn't remember their story decisions. Now, I wouldn't expect the game to tell you every single dialogue choice that a character has made, but a summary of the character's important storyline paths would be very helpful.
