  1. I always felt that imposing a fee to use Quick Travel, or any other feature that had previously been free, was a bad approach. Nobody likes feeling like they're getting LESS value for their buck than they did before. It would have been better if they had added new features to the game and charged players for using them. ... Kind of like having to spend several more hours farming boring Heroics in order to reach the same goals you were able to previously. (My subscription has been cancelled, too.)
  2. You know, the developers in this game sometimes remind me of those parents who argue with their children about what the kids like to eat. "But sweetheart, you like mashed potatoes ... Yes, you do ... Yes, you do ... Yes, you do ... " "Don't worry, you like doing Heroics ... Yes, you do ... Yes, you do ... Yes, you do ... "
  3. Really? Let's see ... 43,000 minus 8,000 is 35,000 ... multiplied by 100 ... Typing a forum post only takes a few minutes ... Hey, if there's a way in this game to earn 3,500,000 Conquest Points in just a few minutes, I'd love to know what it is! Show it to me, and I'll definitely stop complaining about the Advancement : Reputation nerf! Why do people keep saying this kind of nonsense? I also see posts sarcastically saying that people are mad that they now have to actually play the game for a little while in order to get those Conquest Points. You're just not getting it. In order to make up for the Conquest points lost in the Advancement : Reputation nerf, we would have to farm and grind a lot more of the same tiresome old stuff that we've been farming and grinding. That's why people are unhappy about the nerf. Because it increases the tedious stuff we have to do to get those points back. Personally, the only reason I resubscribed to the game was because I was interested in Galactic Season 6. Had I known that completing the Season would require two, three, or four times as much grinding as I was expecting, I absolutely would not have wasted that 16 bucks and change on it. I've already moved on. For the amount of time and effort I would have to put into playing this game now, I could gain a lot more enjoyment and satisfaction in other games and other activities. The only reason I'm still here is to voice my displeasure being going. Maybe it will help somehow to let the powers that be know why one more person is leaving. Probably not, but there's no harm in trying.
  4. I resubscribed just before Galactic Season 6 began. I absolutely wouldn't have, if I had had a complete and accurate Patch Notes for it. Sixteen bucks down the drain, with nothing to show for it. The only upside is that I can voice my displeasure and tell Broadsword why I am quitting the game before I do. The new Galactic Season was what drew me back to the game after a short break. But for a 200% to 300% increase in the amount of grinding required for it ... NO, THANK YOU. I agree with the posters who want the Reputation objective back to the way it was. Since the probability of the developers doing that is just about nil, I will be cancelling my subscription now. It's not even worth waiting out the month.
  5. Just a small correction, in case anybody didn't know : You can already create a Cyborg for any class. You don't need the Legacy Species Unlock : Cyborg for that. When the game first launched back in 2011, Cyborgs were restricted to certain classes. Now, it was a long time ago, so I'm not positive, but I think that Jedi Knights, for example, could not be Cyborgs. To this day, I still have no idea what the developers' reasoning for that was. At some point, though, that restriction was lifted, and Cyborgs became available for all classes, like Humans. So, then, what does the Legacy Species Unlock : Cyborg actually do now? I'm not sure, but I think it makes all, or almost all, Cybernetic options available to all origin stories on a Legacy. Without the unlock, only some Cybernetic options are available to each origin story. Whether or not that's worth the unlock's price in Credits, Cartel Coins, or the time required to level up a character to Level 50, only you can decide.
  6. I'm imagining the irony that a lot of players in the game now would have to learn a new way of the playing the game when they create characters on a "classic" server - new way to them, even though it's actually the old way in the game. Instead of just one prime statistic (Mastery) for all characters, players would be looking at four - Strength, Willpower, Aim, and Cunning. Social Points ... Remember those? You built them up by teaming up with other players, and gained Social Ranks to purchase special armor sets. Learning new abilities at Class Trainers, and paying for them. Nowadays, portable Class Trainers are pretty much worthless, but on a classic server, players would be going out of their way to get them and unlock them in Collections ... That is, if Collections is available as a feature on the classic server. It might not be. Turning in Heroic Missions at the questgivers, going to the Fleet to choose your Advanced Class, Skill Trees ... Those bring back memories. I don't suppose Amplifiers would be coming back. They were sort of in the middle of SW:TOR history, so they wouldn't qualify for a classic server feature. It could be interesting. The one really sticky question is, would character transfers be allowed to the classic server, and if so, what will happen to the characters when they're transferred?
  7. First of all, I want to thank everybody here for taking the time to help me out with this. I appreciate it. I wound up trying all three of the programs that were recommended on this thread ... You know, you wouldn't think that anyone could have such consistently bad luck with video recording software ... The graphics card in my computer didn't meet the requirements for the Windows 10 XBox Game Bar to record video (although I can still use it for image captures). My system doesn't seem to have the resources to support SW:TOR and OBS Studio simultaneously, except in low settings. The result was video quality that was a little blurred ... although I will say that after dealing with FRAPS's 1 GB per minute video files, I certainly didn't mind being able to record a one-minute video in 8 MB. For some reason, Bandicam's Game Recording mode doesn't recognize SW:TOR as a game on my computer. Somebody advised me to try starting up Bandicam first and then loading SW:TOR, but that didn't work. I've decided to compromise. I'm running SW:TOR in fullscreen Windowed mode and using Bandicam's Screen Recording mode to capture video for it. The video quality isn't quite as good as FRAPS, but for reducing file sizes from 1 GB per minute to 50 MB per minute, I can live with it. Again, thank you all very much. This is turning out to be useful for a lot more than SW:TOR. I'm now using OBS Studio and Bandicam for other video projects, and even if I can't use the XBox Game Bar's video recording feature, I'm finding it convenient to be able to take a screen capture with just a key press. When I installed it, I was surprised to find out how much Bandicam looks just like FRAPS, although Bandicam has a lot more features. Much like Bandicam, FRAPS had one major advantage when I first started recording video : It was very easy to use.
  8. Thank you all very much for the suggestions. I'll be sure to take a look at all of those. Hard drives were smaller back then, too. My computer has a 500 GB internal hard drive, which seemed big when I bought it, but it feels pretty cramped now. I've since supplemented it with about 8 TB of external hard drive space, which I really needed. 70 MB per minute. Oh, that sounds MUCH better than one GB per minute. Thanks.
  9. I just reactivated an SW:TOR account that I have not used in a while. I wanted to ask if anybody here can recommend a good screen capture and video recording tool for this game. The last time I played, I was using the FRAPS utility, which I always thought was good, but it took up a lot of hard drive space. I seem to recall that the guideline was that one minute of video would take up about a gigabyte of hard drive space. Does anybody have any suggestions for a good screen capture and video recording tool? Much appreciated.
