  1. I see you've recently come across Sabain on PoT5...
  2. Ok, I'm a pro at GETTING sabotaged (LOL - Thanks Zuchisen!)... you CAN boost while you are being sabotaged. I do it as a tactical measure to delay any incoming fire as long as possible. That should explain how people pull away as you're firing at them as you're most likely (although possible) not shooting as you're boosting. (I do that too, but it's really inaccurate.)
  3. OR... call it, "You're not actually flying INTO the asteroid field, are you?!?"
  4. What about Character Titles?? "Crater-Maker Cekis" - 10k Shield Damage inflicted in a single match "Rocksteady Cekis" - 10k Hull Damage inflicted in a single match "Cekis, The Glass Jaw" - Killed by asteroid 5 times in a single match "Rockon Cekis" - 100 Damage MVP's flying the Asteroid "Crusher Cekis" - 100 Kills made to Asteroids "Stonecold Cekis" - 500 Kills with the Asteroid "Collision Course Cekis" - 500 Assists with the Asteroid ... the list goes on! Ok, how about Legacy Titles! "The Rockstar" - 500 Kill MVP's with the Asteroid "The Rocky Horror" - 500 Damage MVP's with the Asteroid "The Pebble Maker" - 500 Assist MVP's with the Asteroid ... and that begs more Achievements! "I Just Wanna Rock!" - Purchase an Asteroid starship "Between an Asteroid and a Hard Spot" - Destroy opponent by crushing them between you and another friendly pilot or space object "People who live in glass houses..." - Obtain more than 10 Asteroid kills in a single match. "I feel the Earth move, under my feet" - Self destruct by flying into other objects 10 times in a single match "Rock-a-bye-baby" - Destroy 50 new pilots with a mastered Asteroid starship "I've got a rock in my shoe" - Get hit with an Ion blaster and survive a railgun blast from the same gunship in a given match without dying. And... finally... "I may not always fly an Asteroid, but when I do..." - Obtain a damage overcharge and destroy 5 enemies while it is active. Comes with the new legacy title, "The Obliterator"
  5. Is it more dumb to assume people know that it's a joke or more dumb to assume people are too dumb to figure it out?
  6. Kill streak of 10 ships (without dying ofc), "These aren't the 'roids you're looking for..."
  7. Look, I get what you're trying to say and fully support it. HOWEVER, it was CLEARLY said that he didn't think he was AS GOOD as the nominated player. My comment was saying, HE IS THAT GOOD AND, IN MY OPINION, BETTER. So crawl back in your little forum hole and go after somebody that CLEARLY indicates somebody should not be nominated. Enough of this "oh, don't hurt so and so's feelings... they're a sad panda!!!" crapola. EDIT: This is all I'm going to say... enough derailing.
  8. Ya, let's not twist this into "I'm quashing a nomination"... I didn't say anything to negate his nomination and gave him props for being good. Way to try to turn that into a negative thing.
  9. But you fly with him... honestly, as I fly against you both... Matu is decent, but you definitely rank higher on my kill-first list.
  10. Disagree - if you waste your time hunting red dots, you will get outscored. Balance wins in this mode. Fight for a bit and if you come across one while fighting - GO GET IT. Regardless of what you may think is the dominant strategy - I don't play that way and generally end up on the top of the list - check with our other guildies as I typically don't see you online. Because my strat is different... and I tend to hold my own... this mode can't possibly have a dominant strategy. Sorry, but that argument is not valid. Agreed, but I'm not finding boredom with GSF just yet... and it's holding my interest a lot longer than other games. I think the point here is that everybody gets bored with everything, eventually. Not sure who this Jesse guy is, but I'm not about to take one man's opinion and experience in game design as gospel... only guideline. Game design is not necessarily something that's "figured out"... if it was, we'd all be playing whatever game that was. And we're not... soo..... Powerups don't kill that. Adjust to the game and you'll find it gets better. If you can't adjust to TDM because of the powerups, I'm sure you're not alone, that inability to adjust should not be basis of the rallying call to change the game. GSF is moderately predictable, but that's not because of the powerups. For example, you get 2 or more of us in a match and it's pretty much a for sure thing that we're going to win. You know this. Same thing if I get Zuchi in a match, I know there's a high probability that he's going to out maneuver me and hit me with that lovely sab'd blaster combo, but powerups don't make us win - our ability to play does. You don't have to. But... if you don't, you're putting yourself and your team at a disadvantage. If you play the game as it's meant to be played (i.e. just what you described above), you have a 50/50 chance at winning if teams are balanced (and oh boy, queue team balance is a whole other argument). That's moderately a role-play argument. PvP is not roleplay (typically). I know you know this, but just trying to put some perspective on what's relevant and what isn't. To add dimension to the game. Huh? Where? Kuat? This is space... however, they may be chemically balanced in such a way that negates gravity... wait, why am I explaining this?!?! Meh... they're powerful, but short lived... I've had the scenario several times where I can't get a kill because I end up focusing on a single pilot too long (i.e. map running). I've also had the opposite scenario (yesterday) where 5 pilots line up in front of me and I pick each of them off in just a few shots. More RP. COMPLETELY DISAGREE.... I like it as it is... GSF is wonderful! No change necessary (from a gameplay standpoint)... that being said, each is entitled to their own opinion, but if things were changed, I would be equally discouraged to not keep playing as you may be now. Also, more depth in the game is always welcome. It's not like this is the first incarnation of Ilum all over again for God sakes. Uh... well... right... I think...
  11. Damage powerups are game changers... however... that's the point of them, isn't it? If you're savy enough to break off a pursuit in favor of getting one - good for you. If you're smart enough to shoot down the guy who has one instead of letting them run hog-wild shooting everything in the sky down - good for you. If you're not... adjust and play the game for what it's worth. Same thing as domination. Gameplay completely differs between the two styles. That's one of the things I truly love about GSF. Powerups (not just damage) need to stay. The damage powerup is a fun twist that magnifies skill. There's no possible way you can pit me up against a poor player (or even mediocre one) and tell me I'm going to lose simply because he got the red dot first. Give me a break. If you think this is true then you're mediocre as well. I'm not trying to offend, but if you've got skill, you can overcome - I do it everytime I get into a TDM and somebody else has the powerup. No sweat off my back to go up against them - more power to them.
  12. Ok... the frame rate fix must be it... I tested this with a guildie today and we turned at roughly the same rate. I didn't test it before, but as we turned the same today I would say I've been hampered all this time and didn't even know it. Ah well, we'll see how things balance out now that it's fixed. Should be interesting!
  13. I'll be honest... I LOVE THIS CHANGE!! Maneuvering is AWESOME now! So much control!
  14. Wow... was just leveling a new char and was wondering why my levels weren't increasing very fast (well, relatively fast I should say)... decided to come here and just read it doesn't start until 11AM PST... D'OH!!!! /facepalm Would have been nice to save that little 25% xp bonus token for post 11AM... but no... I burned it. Whatevs.
  15. So, you want it more like WoW's system then? Good enough, but it doesn't have to be like WoW. Making something better than that I'm sure is their goal. Unfortunately, perfection on the first try of anything is rare. Something to consider too... you want to reward skill players with gear that makes them better instead of award lesser skill players with gear to help them compensate for lack of skill? With that method, you're going to snuff out anybody who doesn't get there first and will be creating a HUGE rift between skill levels and ultimately any chance for the lower skill level compete. Which means, nobody will be PvP'ing and you'll kill off the game. I don't agree with your idea. Consider the HIGHLY skilled newb 50. They don't have gear. If the "upper tier" one-shots them because of their gear and their skill level combined, the newb 50 will say "f-that" and quit. That's the design flaw on your idea. I agree that the "randomness" does nothing but piss people off and it should go. But... I don't have a problem with this adjustment either as it's a guaranteed steady grind that doesn't inflict a, "Hey, my LUCK is better than your SKILL or TIME!" system. Also, it's a lot like WoW's battleground gear system and that implementation isn't bad.
  16. Ya, it sounds good actually. The patch note is totally misleading compared to what was said. I was gonna scream bloody murder too until I waited and read the rebuttal.
  17. FOR GOD'S SAKES MAN!!! Don't point out ways to improve it, just complain about how it's working currently and point out that it's currently the worst you can think of!!
  18. You don't like PvP, you don't like PvE... why do you even play this game? Crafting?
  19. If that's the only reason you're doing it... YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING IT. Get a group together, do an instance and get your PvE gear that you REALLY want.
  20. And welcome to the reason why we need a debuff. Look, you keep doing that and you really can't get better. Maybe you don't want to get better? Maybe you're just farming gear? If it takes somebody 3 hours just to get 3 wins, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG in the first place. Stick around, learn how to play the game better and get your 3 wins in 45 minutes or less.
  21. Huttball requires the most skill and strategy out of any of the warzones... It's designed very well for the classes. Yes, grapple, leap, push, etc. are all frustrating, but if you use them right you can get the advantage. No other warzone provides as much benefit from using your skills more than Huttball. Oh ya, and on top of that YOU CAN PASS THE BALL... WWHHHAAATTT?!?!?!! That's awesome in itself! It is my favorite as well. Well done! That being said... wow, I've played a ton of it and I would really like to see more of an even variety in the mix of zones.
  22. Haha... did I say it wasn't bugged? Nope, just explaining one part about how it CAN happen legitimately... the only bugs I've seen are the early plants (youtube it) and the stealthed door plants (which you probably can't do anymore unless you do the first thing I mentioned). By the way, you can't call PvP in this game competitive. Please.
