  1. I'd just like to remind all you thirsty mfers that Vaylin was clearly shown to have been evil long before Valkorion did a single damn thing to her mind. Don't stick ya D in crazy.
  2. A) Final Fantasy 14 just became the most currently successful MMO. B) WoW vets say its hardest content is just as hard as WoW's ever was. Debunked.
  3. To this day I will never forgive them for removing channeled Flamethrower. Legit the biggest part of Powertech class fantasy and it's just goooone.
  4. Making their gap closer optional? Just another drop in the bucket proving that the devs don't have a damn clue what each class actually needs, huh. This guy is also exactly correct. This push to simplify things to bring in new players is ridiculous at best. It'll lose you as many players as it gains you, if not more. Bad, bad, bad.
  5. The problem with your math is that there won't be that many new players coming to the game, I assure you.
  6. I don't think light sided people electrocute people outside of fights, sir. =P
  7. It's really hard to say. The only reason Trooper and Agent use a generic pistol in their cutscenes is that they don't actually equip a pistol, whereas Smuggler and Bounty Hunter do. We'd need a closer look at how EXACTLY it's coded, but it is not out of the realm of possibility at all that if you're using a Pistol Combat Style, then the cutscene pistol will actually be a pistol you're using. I'll also note that Trooper and Agent have DIFFERENT generic pistol designs, so your post does make me super curious what Smuggler and Bounty Hunter's will be chosen to look like, as you say. Hmm!
  8. I'm extremely excited for it. The options it gives are really interesting. Someone else already mentioned being able to stealth through any class story if you pick the right style--but I'm also looking rather forward to Trooper and Agent presumably getting to use whatever pistol they have equipped, if using a Smuggle/BH style, instead of their generic cutscene pistol. Quite a few classes have way better animations on one mirror or another, as well.
  9. Yeah, and if you can find the time, money and manpower to figure out how to make the animations work for what the OP suggests, I'm sure Bioware'd love to get their hands on it, lol.
  10. And MOST of the veterans who are giving feedback over it, here in this forum, are saying it is a bad idea, for numerous reasons. Mine being that there's no way in actual hell they're going to rebalance the game to compensate for the changes in anything resembling a timely manner. Not that they're going to renege on this--that's also never going to happen--but I think all of the people telling them this idea was bad have an absolute right to go on doing that, and when it inevitably is bad (and I do mean inevitably, based on 10 years of experience with this game), they will get to go 'ah, see, I knew it' and be correct in that, as it will be the only solace they have from Bioware doing their damnedest to make the game for babies.
  11. Plus several of the expacs have a tutorial function that spoonfed you abilities over the first several chapters to teach you how to use them...it's really not that hard.
  12. Conveniently ignoring that nothing he said actually had anything to do with any of the points I made, I see!
  13. As a fervent FFXIV player myself, I will say one of the best things about it is that there is a class for just about every level of complexity. People who want to take a nap while they play can play Red Mage, Dancer, maybe Bard. People who are enjoy playing the piano can play Monk. People who are really good at recognizing patterns play Black Mage well. Etc.
  14. Four more months of expansion development, and then two more years of them scrambling to rebalance all the content they'll unbalance with these changes, lel
  15. It really depends on severity. There have been periods of the game being wildly unbalanced I've been able to persevere through. Keep strawmanning me as a tool if it helps you, though.
  16. I will be back for you, when the update drops in entirety and the content is wildly unbalanced around it. Rest assured.
  17. He's literally right tho lmao You're free to your assertion about how nobody should say this will kill the game, but saying that there is no reason whatsoever to assume they will do a bad job of balancing the game when we have a literal decade of evidence to it is another matter entirely.
  18. That's not true, though. I, and many other people giving feedback--which is the INTENT OF THE PTS, I will remind you--are coming forth with the completely valid request that they not reduce the number of abilities each class uses. You're being massively disingenuous by acting like nobody is giving any legitimately valid feedback. You seem more like the one who just plans to keep repeating BS until people are convinced it's true. Whether or not the game is going to 'die' from this is irrelevant; many veterans are planning to leave if they oversimplify the classes, and they, and I, would rather not have a game that they love so much become much worse to play. If you think that's just proclaiming doom aimlessly, then you need to get your brain checked. I suggest you use some introspection and ask yourself why you seem to believe that everyone asking for them not to make the game more braindead is simply doomsaying. Though, far more likely, everything I just typed here will go in one ear and out the other as you continue to condemn me as someone who is just yelling doom, doom, doom, when that was never the case. As you say, and as I said you said, yes, it's astronomically unlikely they will veer from this course, true. However, I will be damned if I will just accept their bad decision because they refuse to renege on it...especially since they have listened to the playerbase and massively altered their plans before, to NEGATIVE effect, when they cut out half of KOTET due to backlash over KOTFE, a real thing that actually happened and that one of the head devs outright said happened. God forbid we try to get them to listen to us to any positive effect. God FORBID. Failing any of that, though, please be quiet. I don't go around telling the people who want these changes that they're a bunch of fools, and I would respect the same in return.
  19. I know exactly what you mean. It is insane to me that anyone out there thinks this is too many buttons; if it gets culled down much more I'll fall asleep trying to play the game.
  20. This is apologetic nonsense. You're right! We don't know what they're going to do to all the classes yet. But you know what we do know? That Bioware, as it has shown itself in literally a decade of running this game, have neither the time, nor the manpower, nor the skill to rebalance all of the existing content in the game to fit this new mold, much less do it in anything resembling a timely fashion. Also, you seem to be missing the entire point of the PTS, which is that you give feedback on the systems as they are made so they can hopefully not make bad systems? You're right that they're probably going to go ahead with these changes no matter how many people dislike them, but that is still the explicit purpose of the PTS, don't tell people to reserve judgment until it's too late...
  21. This is a bold series of claims considering that changes of this caliber are exactly, and I do mean exactly, what killed Star Wars Galaxies.
  22. Sure can't wait for soloing Star Fortress Heroics to be impossible due to the downsizing of DCDs!
  23. This, this, a million times this. Anyone who truly believes, deep down, that they'll really rebalance everything in the game to compensate for these changes...much less do it in anything resembling a timely manner... Well, I know some Nigerian Princes that would like to sell them a bridge, you know what I'm sayin'? I wonder how many people don't remember the period of TWO YEARS where all Silver mobs had DOUBLED DAMAGE from what was intended, able to melt anyone in seconds if they weren't properly CC'd.
  24. To be fair, I also have no post history prior to these changes and I am against them. I got into the forums purely because the change is so ridiculously, horrendously bad I had to say something.
  25. This literally isn't even true. Individual Ops are the only times you do this, and usually you just have a set for the entire Op, not individual pulls. PVP and non-Ops PVE have almost completely uniform optimal utility builds for every class.
