  1. Well - I'm sitting at 32/12 (yes, 32). I went around to various servers when I first got the game and reserved names in the off chance I'd transfer characters, so I'd be able to keep the names I want (this is the result of having played WoW too long). So... yeah - they could implement at least 32 character creation slots on a server, if they wanted to. Something I'll never understand is why they don't.
  2. Thanks for your responses guys - very much appreciated. Maybe I'll see you all on my new server!
  3. So - will they just delete all my mail if I wait until the forced transfers? That would suck quite a lot.
  4. I'm on an older server with a very small population, and I think I'm allowed to transfer for free to a more populated server. Just a couple quick questions for people who have already transferred: Can I transfer one character at a time, or do I have to do them all at once? What will happen if I have mail in my inbox? Will that transfer too, or do I have to claim all the items in my inbox? What happens if I have characters already on the newer server? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.
  5. I've spent a lot of time reverse engineering the level 49 stuff on my Cybertech and my Armormech, so as to get the purple schematics. Is that what you mean by Columi? I didn't see any other schematics on the vendor past the ones I've purchased.
  6. Perhaps he meant all of the perks in one category - like I -> IV, rather than all categories? *shrugs*
  7. Is there another set identical to the Jedi Battlelord set, but with the hood down? The second set you mentioned has no hood, but lacks the shoulder guards. Thanks again!
  8. Hey - I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I haven't had luck with my search. I'm looking for the armor that the Jedi Knights are dressed in on the character creation page - it looks heavy, kinda trooper-ish, like a techno-knight or something. Does anyone have a line on these pieces? Thanks very much in advance!
  9. Both you and the rest of the party were sorta kinda wrong. The best thing for everyone to have done would have been to take a minute before the instance and have a quick discussion that would look like this: You: "This is my first instance tanking; how would you like to handle loot and conversations?" Them: "You have first right on all tank loot, of course; we prefer skipping conversations though as we're in a hurry." DPS War: "I'm looking for the lightsaber at the end, would you mind if I took it if it drops?" You: "For the sake of the group, I'd be glad to breeze over the conversations. Wish me luck for some tanking gear! If I don't get anything at all, I'd still be interested in the saber at the end, but if I do get some things, I wouldn't want to be greedy, so of course I'll pass for the dps War." Them: "Sweet, thanks dude. Shall we start?" It takes about a minute, and all the bases are covered. No hard feelings, and everyone communicates like adults. I tanked for 7 years in WoW. Trust me when I say a little bit of consideration goes a long way.
  10. I wouldn't have signed up for an MMO if I didn't want to play one. I didn't sign up for a high population server forced merge. Bear in mind this is also not just an MMO, but an MMORPG. I picked my names, I played my characters, I built them from scratch. To lose those names is to lose the character I built from day one. To lose the environment I chose (RP server, low-mid pop) is to lose the MMO that I wished to play. They might as well just ask me if I wanted a bunch of random 50s. I'd say no - because they aren't *my* characters. I have no idea why people need to have forced name changes anyway - isn't there a reason we picked Legacy names? Or would that be too much stress on the gerbils running the servers?
  11. If I get forcibly moved off my server to an overcrowded unplayable crap server, surrounded by idiots ninja'ing resources and quest items, where I have lost the names of my characters I've played since release, I'm going to unsubscribe my game account. Not sure if the developers read or care about the forums, but I'm putting that out there.
  12. Well - if worse comes to worse, I'll just rename my SWTOR shortcut to "MARLA". >.> <.<
  13. Hey all- I'm looking for the vendor where I can acquire different looks/customizations for the companion SCORPIO. Does anyone know where I can find them? I tried the vendor on Ilum, but I saw nothing there. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
  14. Personally, I think we should have 24 character slots per server. 8 is the minimum, but not at all ideal, particularly when we REALLY LIKE THE GAME AND WANT TO PLAY MORE ALTS.
  15. I have a difficult time equating "earning" with "mindless boring repetition". I don't feel like I've earned anything by engaging in repetitious behavior, only that I've grinded something out. Meh.
  16. If I had a choice between grinding the same quests over and over and over and over and over and over to get gear and just dishing out another $10 for my characters to have a top-notch set of gear when I hit 50 with them, I think I'd go with the $10. I hate dailies. Blizzard's tendency to characterize dailies as "meaningful and interesting content" was one of the things that led me to unsubscribe from WoW.
  17. If I lose my character names, I'm unsubscribing. Being forced onto a server where I'll be surrounded every second by people stealing kills and ninja'ing resources would suck enough, but the lack of my chosen character names would cross the line completely. I've used them for years, and I'm not giving them up.
  18. Then be sure to send me the cash you would have paid when BioWare releases the next tier of raid instances, new races, and rated warzones for free.
  19. I think we should get an additional 16 character slots per server, and I'll keep paying my $15/month to get them.
  20. WTB: Multi-server GTN Paying: $15/month
  21. I actually did find a purple (epic/artifact) level 22 lightsaber once. I think it's fully modable too; I have it sitting in my bank on my jedi. They are out there.
  22. Actually you can - the level 20 (?) cusom built lightsaber. The schematic is obtained via treasure hunting (and also investigation, I think).
  23. I hope they don't nerf damage. I had rolled a tank and a healer when the game was released thinking I'd have fun with them, and I didn't. So blowing things up has kept me subscribed.
  24. Apology accepted (I hate being called a cheater). I guess "major" is relative though - for crafters it still sucks.
  25. Actually, from patch notes in 1.2: "Players can now send multiple companion characters on a mission granted by a Mission Discovery if the player had more than one of that Mission Discovery." http://www.swtor.com/patchnotes/1.2.0/legacy I was checking to see if a feature that was supposed to be implemented (yet not working) was fixed. Not an exploit. Nimrod.
