  1. Yeah - I didn't resubscribe for a super-involved multiplayer experience. I came back for the solo play to go 1-75 and enjoy some different storylines and the new content, as well as a ton of content I never got into (5.0, 6.0, etc). So far its been a slog, and nothing like I remember; it looks like all the time I spent on buffing out my companions, legacy, and all this gear I crafted to use while leveling up has gone to waste. Nerfs never feel good, but to do this sort of thing to 10 year old content just feels straight-up bad. Again, I wont be asking for my money back, but I wont be resubscribing either, unless something changes.
  2. All I know is - I came back for this expansion, and things feel really crappy while I'm trying to level up. I don't know if it is the scaling, or companions not having as much presence as they used to, or what, but it feels bad. I even took the time to make all new gear for my character thinking it was a gear issue - I equipped everything, and it feels just as bad (scaling I guess....?). I dont want my money back, but unless this changes, I won't renew either.
  3. Thank you all very much for your responses - attempting to get this information from folks in-game was proving very difficult. I really appreciate the help!
  4. I've recently returned to the game after an extended break, and I was hoping some folks could clarify things for me: 1. I've heard that you lose all your companions at some point in the storyline, but get them back again later. Does this include the droid companions I've purchased from the auction? I purchased the unlocking items and then got the droids via a quest in the cartel market area. I've also maxed out reputation (via a LOT of gifts) for my HK-51, Treek and the smuggler companion I accidentally acquired when right-clicking an item I got in the mail. Will I lose all the reputation that I spent time/credits acquiring? 2. I've reached level 64 so far and I'm on a planet called "Risha" (sp?) The game seems to be scaling me downward in level; does it do this through max level content? 3. Can someone point me to a list of the flashpoints that I can do in solo mode? Also.... where do all the flashpoints start? I always seem to end up in the wrong area... >.> 4. I've done a couple flashpoints as part of the story process, but I've gotten no loot at all; I've upgraded my gear from a modification vendor. Did they get rid of loot, or is it the setting for the flashpoint? 5. I thought a million credits was a lot, but I've seen items on the auction that are 500 million credits each. Am I that far behind? The thing I'm looking at right now is an unlock for a neat looking probe droid companion. Is there a way to just get it from the cartel market? I'm not 100% sure if the things that look good to me are solo purchased items or from the random crates; is there a way to tell? I'd rather just buy some stuff with cartel coins that I've accumulated rather than trying to figure out how to get 500 million credits - I don't have that many hours in the day... >.> 6. What is the deal with the light side/dark side winning? Does it matter only at maximum level, or is there something that is fun that I can participate in while leveling up? I'll probably think of a few other things, but thank you in advance for any assistance!
  5. Hey all- I'm back after a very long hiatus, and I have a set on my Trooper that I honestly couldn't tell you how I picked up, called "Tionese Supercommando Gear". I was wondering if there was some way to unlock this appearance in my collections menu area so I can have the look on a new Trooper I was planning to create. Could someone give me instructions on how to do this? Thanks much!
  6. Whew - I didn't mean to start a firestorm here. Just a couple points I'd like to clarify - I canceled my subscription by deleting the payment method; I guess I didn't see any form I was supposed to fill out. I don't have any complaints about the game at all really; I just found it a bunch more fun when the 12x exp was running and I had character slots for new characters to level. I maxed out the number of slots I could have, and I'd like to get more, and enjoy the class story with those new characters. SWTOR is really very fun (for me) when I can focus on the 1-55 class story. Without the 12x experience and characters to level up, the game isn't offering me an experience I want to pay for. No harm, no foul; if they offer that experience again, I'll gladly be back.
  7. Bleah - I didn't see any form; I just hit the delete payment method button and that was it. I'll see if I can find it and copy/paste my original post there. My bad. Again, if a moderator wants to move or delete this thread, sorry for the trouble.
  8. I'm sure I'll resubscribe eventually, but I felt it was a good idea to provide my feedback on why I was - I do hope they'll re-implement the 12x xp bonus in some fashion and give us more character slots, because that was really, REALLY fun. I'm not angry or anything, but I guess a lot of people who leave are.
  9. Huh? I think most people would *eventually* cancel; I've given the reasons why I am. I found the game immensely enjoyable when I had characters to level and 12x xp bonus to do it with. I don't find other aspects of the game all that fun, so I'm not going to continue to pay to play. The drama you're looking for isn't here, I promise.
  10. Because I found the leveling process the most fun, particularly when I got to enjoy the storyline, rather than the 100000 side quests.
  11. Well, the end game is really level 60, and the 12xp was good up till 55, and the gameplay from 1-55 was really what I found interesting. I only have one level 55 character, and that was because I was 54 when I got to Ilum, so I just finished off that last level with the quests there.
  12. I didn't see a spot to give a reason why I canceled my subscription, so I'm writing it here; not sure where else to put it (if a moderator would move it to the appropriate place, I'd appreciate it). I had a wonderful time over the last couple months with the 12x experience bonus - I leveled up several characters and had a great time doing it. I don't really find the endgame all that interesting, but if the 12x experience bonus is ever reinstated - and we get more character slots - I'll resubscribe in a heartbeat. I'd also come back if we can have cross-server mailing/legacy - I'm not really tied to my current server other than that all my characters are on it. Anyway, I do enjoy the game for the parts I play, but until the 12x thing comes back and we get more character slots, I'm going to take a hiatus. The game is still good fun for me, but I'm kinda deadlocked until those things happen. Kapono
  13. Hey all- I'm thinking about purchasing the Legacy of Crafting perks for a character, but I needed to know if it affected the returns for gathering missions, like Scavenging, Slicing, Archaeology, Diplomacy, Investigation, etc. Is there a developer response somewhere, specifically saying it does or doesn't? The tooltip isn't very clear. Thanks!
  14. If you enjoy stabbing yourself in the eyeball with an icepick, I highly recommend upgrading to Windows 8.x. Translation: oh my god it's horrible.
  15. Being able to have 3+ members of Havoc Squad out at the same time would just totally make the Trooper experience for me. That truly would rock.
  16. I'd love to see circular-style lightsabers, like the Tron lightdiscs.... and as long as we're at it, lightbikes and lightjets would be totally rock and roll. I don't usually buy Cartel packs, but in the case of these items, I would. What would be really, REALLY cool would be if you could customize the lightbike with lightsaber crystals.... Something else I'd totally pay money for would be the ability to have: 1. A tradeskill interface where I could queue up missions (more than 1 at a time) 2. The ability to "reshuffle" the gathering tradeskill missons, or to eliminate from display certain types of missions (Underworld Trading cloth or gift missions, for example), or - even better- to display ALL mission at all times. 3. The ability to use more than one of the same mission discovery item at a time, and to queue up multiple item missions for one companion to do. 4. Have mission discovery items stack like consumables. 5. The ability to have discovery specific crafting - rather than have your bags/mail fill up with items you're going to reverse engineer, have the ability to check off a button to invest the materials into an automatic crafting discovery while consuming the same (or slightly more) materials than usual.
  17. Hey all, just a couple quick questions for long time players (I just resubscribed): 1. I have a Jedi warrior character, and would like to change his race to human. Is there a vendor, or somewhere else I can go, to change his race? What about hairstyles, etc? 2. Where can I go to get different dyes for my gear? I saw some on the auction, but they were very expensive. Are they crafted? Is there a space-age spraypaint option on my ship? 3. I equipped a new crystal in my lightsaber, and I got a message saying that the crystal was added to my collection. Does this mean I can use the crystal on any of my characters? 4. If I use a 110% speed mount on my level 10 character, does that mean all my mounts will go 110% speed? 5. A long while back I finished the HK51 quest. I saw someone on the Fleet that had a different appearance for him. Where can I get different customizations for him? Would they be available for a very low level character? 6. I acquired a new gaming machine when my old one fried. I noticed that there was some graphical stuttering in the same places I experienced it before - on my Trooper's ship, on my Consular's ship, and running around in the world. The machine I have is really pretty sweet, and I can't imagine it's the fault of my hardware, particularly when the issues are happening in the exact same places they did before with different hardware. Is there some setting I should change, or is it the fault of the graphic engine of the game? 7. Is there a monthly thing where you get double experience? 8. All the mods and gear on my HK companion are red; isn't there a way to make them scale down so he's appropriate for a low level character? Thanks for your help!
  18. Can you do higher level treasure finding missions with a low level character? I seem to remember reading that low level characters couldn't open the boxes for some reason.
  19. Hey all- I just resubscribed to SWTOR and I had a few questions for long time players: 1. I can't seem to find a macro interface; I was looking to make a couple mouseover taunt and mouseover forcechoke macros (where I could just mouseover a target and cast the spell rather than swapping targets). Is it right in front of me or am I just not seeing the menu? 2. Is there somewhere I can go for a list of color crystals with previews? Some of them look really cool. 3. What crew skills are useful these days? Is it worth sending my crew out on gathering missions? Are Slicing missions still worthwhile over the long term for the mission items you can get? Should I take the time to reverse engineer the max level stuff to get intro gear, or is that kind of a time sink? 4. Is there a site where I can go to see all the new outfits/armors? Thanks in advance!
  20. I vote to get rid of them. Artificial complexity and ability bloat don't make for interesting gameplay.
  21. If it's possible, could the developers make it so mission discovery items that you find via Slicing or buy off the auction stack the same way companion gifts do? I have a bunch of Investigation missions that I'm saving for my Armstech and they take up a TON of space; having them as a stack would make things a lot more convenient. It would also be very convenient if other trade goods for professions stacked to 999 (though I guess you'd need to make a restriction of 99 being the max size you could post at the auction). Thank you!
  22. I'm tired of re-grinding the generic planet quest content. I wish they'd add something to legacy to increase quest storyline xp by 1000% - that would make me happy as a pig in ****.
  23. I almost never post, but I will now. This makes me sad. Making grinds longer won't extend the viability of this game. I wish I had had the time last weekend to get some characters to 50 (like the advertisement said we could). I'm pretty tired of the playstyle where seeing another player kinda sucks.
  24. I hate reputation grinds. The thing I'd like to see most is to have tradeskill material turn-ins in exchange for the rep usually associated with daily quests. Like - turn in 100 340 level mats or something for the same amount of rep you'd get for a full day's quests. Mutually exclusive with the dailies, of course. I hate being packed like sardines along with the rest of the server into a small area trying to tag mobs. It's 2013 - how outdated it that crappy way of questing?
