  1. Most of the upper tier PvP Guilds built around 8v8 RWZs will splinter and part ways. The playerbase will become even more fragmented and less invested in the game, coming and going as they please and eventually losing interest in the tedium of non-stop TDM with nothing to break up the monotony. The type of player who will stick around for Arenas will probably be quite different to the type currently sticking with the game and playing in RWZ Guilds; anecdotally I see a lot of people in my Guild spending a lot of money on Cartel Coins and also items from the Market on the GTN. I also see these people spending less and less and eventually becoming tired of the whole thing. I expect BioWare will probably break even in terms of revenue; gaining a few more subscribers in total but losing a lot of the more loyal subscribers who supported them with their wallets all this time. In addition their attempts to break up the existing PvP community has left an intensely sour taste in the mouths of those who will stay on to try Arenas; and likely BioWare will no longer see any revenue from those poeple apart from the bare minimum for them to continue playing from time to time.
  2. Would be awesome to be able to organise 8v8s or 4v4s in such a way. However it would be even better to pick map and modify other parameters too; similar to the way you can change server settings for an FPS or even how GW2 handles structured PvP.
  3. I think fundamentally what the original poster is trying to say is: BioWare, please tell us what you're trying to fit into 2.4 and give us an idea what we have to look forward to; and use our feedback to guide your planning and prioritization process. Since right now what's happening is that everyone is building it up in their minds what to expect; and if BioWare don't deliver there will be a lot of people leaving the game or simply losing interest. Maybe they don't care, I don't know.... I've posted a few times both here and on Reddit on this topic and there's zero official response apart from a few comments by Bruce which did little to help instill confidence in their PvP team.
  4. Kinda sick of posting about the lack of PvP content... I was quietly optimistic about this announcement today but another 4 months before we see anything of any substance is just too much for many people I suspect. Very very disappointed.
  5. I don't normally post in these kind of threads... ... but really; no new PvP content until 2.4? And we still have no idea what it is... for all we know it could be a single new Warzone and Season 1 of RWZ with absolutely zero added features, just a new name. I really hope Server Transfers somehow liven up the PvP communities on PvP servers because otherwise I foresee a very bleak year for PvP in SWToR... and there's so much goddamn potential.

    Where Is It?

Well; RWZ Guild number 2 disbanded tonight on ToFN. The bleed of PvPers continues.

    Where Is It?

You can never "fix" PvP. Bug fixing is something that should always be done, but in parallel with feature development. If all they've been doing the past two months is working on an incredibly buggy Bolster system and failing to roll out bug fixes with any kind of urgency then... I don't really know what to say. And in terms of stun bubble, it's good they finally adjusted it... but the concerning thing for a lot of people is how damn long it took them to do it. Anyway; in my mind this thread is more about the kind of content that isn't centered around class balance and gear balance and all that kind of stuff... I'm talking about featyures to spice up PvP, new Warzones and game types, cross-server queues, in-game tournaments, duelling areas on the fleet... the kind of QoL PvP updates that we sorely need, Season 1 of RWZs.... and whatever else they may have in mind.

    Where Is It?

I also work in Software Development; and I'm quietly hoping the reason Bolster was so unfinished was due to other project dates they were trying to hit for some of the other upcoming PvP features and content. I mean they clearly have some resources working hard on things for the game... but the problem is it's all based around PvE and Cartel Market content from what I can see. There's literally zero effort visible in terms of PvP related content or even communication.... I mean there have been more posts from Eric on the Double Hood issue with Revan's robes than on anything PvP related, other than a couple of posts early on about the Bolster saga. If it's a case that they just don't care about PvP and they expect to just release generic features and Cartel Market fluff then I would appreciate some kind of acknowledgement that that is indeed the case. I'm still waiting for any kind of acknowledgement that we haven't been forgotten; and this post was kinda my last gasp attempt at bringing some attention to the issue and trying to get some kind of response. I'm close to giving up.

    Where Is It?

I think maybe they underestimate just how many people enjoy PvP; and they're not grasping the opportunity to keep a thriving PvP community playing the game... I really don't think it would take a lot of effort on their part. I think possibly they also underestimate how much they get from PvP in pure revenue terms, too. I suspect since there's very little PvP-centric items on the Cartel Market that they don't have a good handle on how many people actually spend real money and exclusively PvP in this game. I know a lot of people who subscribe and buy a substantial amount of coins, and those people also almost exclusively PvP.

    Where Is It?

The fact it ever went live in the state it was in kinda hints at how important PvP is to the developers. I guess I'm hoping it was just a release date they struggled to hit because they were working on other things that are coming down the line, too.... And I think the majority of PvPers accept that Open World PvP is something of a pipe dream right now; but Warzones and any other kind of structured PvP should really be added to, in my opinion.

    Where Is It?

It would be nice to keep the Bolster argument out of this thread and keep it kinda more general. I guess really I'd like to see some acknowledgement that PvP will be getting some attention soon; now that we hear plenty of things about how well the game is doing etc. I'm secretly hoping that 2.2 will be a mega PvP patch.... and that this post will seem silly once they release more information about it.... but my challenge to BioWare is to release that information sooner rather than later so as to potentially keep people from leaving the game and maybe even entice those that left recently to come back.
  12. You better be back, or I'll come find you. On a related note and inspired in part by Impulse taking a break, I made a whiney post about the rate of PvP content releases and the general lack of support or quality from BioWare. Might be nice if people could post a short message, rate it some stars, whatever... just to get some more attention. The post is http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=636041 Have fun with your Asian grindfest

    Where Is It?

It doesn't even HAVE to be a new Warzone.... but that to me seems to be the obvious thing for them to add. But even if they would at least communicate some of their plans for the near future for PvP, let people make suggestions based on what they hear... just give us some idea what's happening. Of course it's entirely possible they're not planning to add anything to PvP at all... the cynic in me will believe that's why they've been so quiet about PvP content, the optimist in me hopes they have a load of features and content incoming over the next few months but they've been unwilling to talk about it for one reason or another.

    Where Is It?

They announced that? Do you have a link? I seem to recall that they confirmed they weren't working on a new Warzone when they released Hypergates... but that's it. The whole point of my post is to identify the lack of PvP content delivered, to highlight the general dissatisfaction of a significant number of PvPers, and also highlight the lack of information about any upcoming PvP updates. I didn't even mention the queueing issue they brought in with 2.0 with they somehow can't pin down; which forces groups of players to sit in the same Warzone 5/6/7 times in a row with regularity... nor the significant issues with Bolster when it was first implemented and pushed in with 2.0 when it wasn't close to being ready.... some of those issues which still remain today. I'm not saying I don't like Bolster either; what I'm saying is that to me it shows a clear lack of resources and/or desire to actually do anything meaningful with PvP that the only PvP feature released is riddles with bugs and still not finished nearly a month later.

    Where Is It?

Well the obvious thing to me would be another Huttball map; but the fundamental point I'm making is that they've given us.... nothing. And they haven't told us about anything that's on the horizon either; so we could be getting Season 1 and a new Warzone in 2.2; or it could be slated for 2.5.

    Where Is It?

12th April 2012 - Novare Coast Warzone 26th June 2012 - Ranked Warzones Pre-Season 1 11th December 2012 - Ancient Hypergates Warzone 9th April 2012 - Improved Bolster So correct me if I'm wrong; but is the list I've given above an accurate reflection of the major PvP features/content introduced since release? (NB: I'm specifically excluding World PvP and the Ilum debacle and focusing on Warzones/structured PvP) We now also have enough information about 2.1 to conclude there are no PvP features of any significance coming soon. So I have a simple question: Where is the PvP content? What reason is there for PvP centric players to continue paying and playing? I'm aware of two well-known and respected PvP Guilds on two different servers who have folded and/or disbanded this week. This is not a new thing either; I've watched PvPers bleeding from this game since the initial failure to introduce RWZs in 1.2. And then BioWare asked the PvPers to shell out money just to let them reach the level cap and continue participating in RWZs; and incredibly managed to not include any PvP content in the expansion with the exception of a poorly implemented, poorly tested, and still broken Bolster system. I don't think PvPers are asking for anything extraordinary. Personally all I'm looking for is a single new warzone every once and a while, some actual information and a road map for Season 1, any kind of information on the PvP roadmap for this game. I'm sure your metrics tell you that only 2% of the population play RWZs regularly.... but at the rate you're releasing PvP content it will be .1% and you'll lose whatever "hardcore" PvP element still play this game. And I don't think a lot of those people are truly "hardcore" either; many just play for a couple of hours every couple of days but like to play something competitive while they do so. Anyway; I suspect this isn't likely to get much notice, but it's the first time I've ever bothered posting here in the main forums... and for anyone who knows me they'll appreciate this is a pretty big deal to me. I may be only one customer; but I'm sure there are others out there who agree with me. TL;DR: Where is the PvP content? Where is the information on PvP content? I'm seeing this game bleeding "good" PvPers and I don't think it would take much to keep at least some of them around... put some more damned effort into it please.
  17. Yes; unlocking Cathar account wide will cost a little more than your monthly allotment of Cartel Coins if you're a subscriber. Grab your pitchforks.
  18. I don't believe I was ever in a game with BRO I'M NASTY in which I did anything other than tell them to shut the **** up when they were behaving like childish walking egoists. If you want to take some screenshots and produce them; be my guest. Maybe I tried to say something to somehow lighten the mood; but that would have been the extent of any comments I would have made. If you're going to whine about the ******s in SWTOR and who play on ToFN then at least direct your ire towards those who deserve it; and not people like Mannovai who I'm sure never said a *********** word to you. In fact he probably would have tried to help you guys play better if given half the chance. On a slightly more on-topic note; don't you people know not to feed the trolls? /ignore is your friend.
  19. It doesn't really matter if it means it will never happen or if it's not a high priority; the end result is that it's probably not getting the attention it deserves and may not be introduced quickly enough to keep PvPers interested. I'd much rather see posts like this which try and show BioWare they're missing an opportunity; rather than people just quietly accept the fact they're not very worried about introducing it.
  20. Speaking as a PvP Officer from one of the few remaining PvP guilds on ToFN who actually queue for RWZs; I believe this is the single biggest issue facing PvP in this game going forward. Whilst it's probably true that it's the minority of people who want to play RWZs; I can honestly say that it's an incredibly active and profitable minority. Plenty of people in my Guild are splashing out lots of money on Cartel Coins for sparkly things and doing everything they can to support the game... but the feeling within the Guild is increasingly one of resentment towards BioWare for their treatment of PvPers. In my mind and in the mind of others in my Guild; the biggest single feature that BioWare could implement to breathe new life into PvP and keep the current PvPers subscribing for some time to come is to implement a simple cross-server queueing system. Once they actually have that cross-server queueing system it them becomes almost trivial to allow 4-man and solo queueing for RWZs, and allow competitive games to become the rule rather than the exception. I really hope BioWare are listening and still working on this feature; because I for one am not sure how much longer I'll continue supporting the game if they can't deliver on the promise of RWZs and/or competitive PvP. TL;DR: Some of the bigger and better PvP Guilds are losing interest in the game due to lack of competitive RWZs... and many of the people in those Guilds play more and generate more revenue than the average player.
  21. Maybe Whasp needs to play more Ranked Warzones!! We know you enjoy being marked with flame....
  22. We try and play most nights from 7 London time... but no Banezzas allowed. Following him on twitch.tv is the easiest way; it'll send you a mail when he starts broadcasting.
  23. Here are mine... I probably play the game too much: http://i.imgur.com/BVSLU.jpg
  24. Are there any plans to allow the transfer of commendations between characters within the same Legacy? Specifically for those who prefer a single "main" character and don't really like rolling alts; it may be enough incentive for them to level alts as they can easily gain the same rewards for the same effort/time but dish it out from their main to their alts for example.
