  1. Rumors put it at the 28th, but that's a bit more than "a few days." And all the servers will take a hit at that point (assuming it's true), so it's hard to say how the populations will end up afterwards. As long as the 3 --> 1 transfer ends up with a decently sized population I think it'll be okay.
  2. If they opened up all the servers for transfer you could end up with one overfilled server and a couple dying servers. They're slowing it down, especially for the weekend, in order to make sure they don't screw up the populations on the consolidated servers. I'm not sure why this is hard to understand for some people. It's why some of the larger pop servers were transferred already -- it's much, much easier to use the "dead" servers of 50 (or less) people to fill in the gaps than it is to have a server of 150 have nowhere to go. And don't worry -- there are definitely a few larger light servers left (mine included) to make up the backbone of a new big server. As for the "give us info on what you're working on," I'm not sure what you mean. Didn't they already tell us we're getting a higher level cap, a new planet, a new warzone, and a new operation by the end of the year? What, exactly, are you looking for?
  3. It's common sense. Consolidate your larger populations as much as you can, use the smaller ones to fill in any gaps you may have left. Using the dead servers first means they might overfill a server when they get to the medium pop ones.
  4. It's on Joveth's twitter feed, not the main one. Or at least it was.
  5. They're not slacking. Server updates will be much slower today, as they're monitoring all the transfers/populations from the past two days. It sounds like they've gotten to the "tipping point" on some of the destination servers, and need to watch and see if they need to switch to other ones.
  6. Create a new character on the destination server, delete it, transfer last character over.
  7. If your 8 characters and his 7 are all on the same server, they would all be eligible for transfer (assuming your server was eligible for transfer). You don't have to pick or choose between what characters you want to transfer, unless you already have characters on the destination server -- at which point you would hit the 8 toon limit. Then you might have problems.
  8. It may have been a fix for Explosive Conflict (they changed how you looted one of the bosses, and this broke a trigger for a different chest later on). I can't think of anything else.
  9. Hey fellow Sorcerers, I've been playing around with some of the web-based combat log parsers after we finally downed Toth and Zorn hardmode last night. They seem to work pretty well, but so far none of them that I've used have taken consumption into account (looking at the logs they report, it seems like it says I "spend" some amount of health, instead of being "hit" by consumption, so it doesn't get counted). Is there any parser out there that does take consumption into consideration?
  10. All companion types (ranged dps, ranged tank, healer, melee tank, melee dps) give their respective stat buff. In your legacy screen where it shows who is completed, if you mouse over and read the description, what they give you is in the very beginning of the paragraph -- it's not highlighted or specifically pointed it out, it just says something like "raises your crit chance" in the middle of a sentence.
  11. Make a rank specifically for level 50 characters.
  12. You can just get the vaccine from pretty much any medical droid and it gives you 6 hours of immunity.
  13. I seem to be having a lot of trouble with healing in 1.2. Mostly I noticed it in the new op (storymode) with a mix of columi and rakata gear. My guild split into two 8-man groups, and we both downed the first boss around the same time. I was on Toth and we had a Merc healer on the Zorn group. We beat it, but just barely, and I was finding myself running out of force by the end of the fight (with not enough health to even think about consuming). When I asked the other group (two Sorc healers), they both ended the fight with 20-30% force -- one of them claimed he never even used consumption. Now, I'm sure the group composition/gear/skill effected the outcome, but I feel like I'm doing something very, very, very wrong for me to end up with basically no force while they end up with plenty. Unfortunately I forgot about the combat log, so I can't look back and see what I was doing wrong. Mostly I was using resurgence on innervate and DI (to keep the cost down) while throwing down reviv when I could (again, resurgence for revivification to keep the cost down.) I was using dark heal when I thought I could top someone off, but the damage in the fight was so much that I really felt it was a waste. Is this not right? Should I be focusing on dark heal on basically everyone but the tank? (Please don't turn this into "healing nerfs made us into a joke/reroll because you're bad" topic. I just want some advice on what I should be changing up for 1.2)
  14. CMs are not developers, or server admins, or management, or any of those things. They exist to relay information from the company to the community. Allison Berryman was told - by the people at Bioware - that waiting for the servers to update instead of downloading the game was an appropriate solution. It is not hers, nor any other CM's, fault for the incorrect information. Plus, the support lines are full because it is a major patch day; it is always expected on a major patch day that support will be patchy because there will be hundreds of thousands of CSR requests through all different mediums. This still isn't Allison or Stephen's fault. They have no control over it, and they are just as - if not more - frustrated as you about the situation.
  15. Guys and gals, I know we're all frustrated -- frankly I'm not going to resub after this month -- but it's not the CM's faults. They're just the filter between the developers/server crew/etc. and the community. They were told that waiting for the servers to update would be a solution, so they relayed that information. The CM's can do nothing but apologize because they don't have any other real power other than writing on the forums and relaying feedback. Until the devs/management/whoever comes up with a solution or compensation, their hands are tied. Trust me when I say Stephen Reid and the rest of the CM team have some very choice words, and possibly a chainsaw to the face, for the people responsible for this. (Remember, now they have to find some way to assuage us -- impossible without action from higher up -- and deal with all the 1.2 crap. And they get to look like the bad guys because of their jobs.)
  16. Set bonus transfers only from new gear (War Hero/Campaign).
  17. Pretty sure that there are two or three more mutli-gigabyte downloads after the initial 11 gigs (the full download is something like 25-30, if I remember correctly). This is ridiculous. Someone dropped the ball, then someone else picked it up and threw it as far as they could. You've made a bad problem worse, and the best you can say is "oops." I'm willing to bet there's no way to track who got the bad early patch, so there's no way to compensate us, either.
  18. I understand the intent behind the system (money sink, give different people some "uniqueness" to their crafting), however at the moment it seems entirely unfair. Think about it -- Joe Schmoe over there could RE ten pieces and get two blues and purple. Then Fred over here could RE 200 recipes and get just one blue (or nothing at all!). This means that Joe gets a far better result for far less time and money invested. Now some randomness is okay -- clearly not every mob should always drop the exact same thing every time. But if the mob doesn't drop that rare item you were looking for? It still drops credits, or gray/green items you can sell. You get something out of doing ops or flashpoints or hunting for rare items. But in this crafting system, you can RE all day and end up with nothing at all. In fact, you can (and will) end up with less than you had when you started! For absolutely no gain. Clearly there is something wrong here.
