  1. Well my main is Biochem which is useful even if your using the first level item it still gives you a boost, thinking of stims mostly. Of course since I can make the higher level it makes sense to use those. I would rate those and Cybertech as the most useful with the moddable equipment system, but they both take some work and as someone else pointed out crafting sucks down the credits. Mostly on the other crew skills I use them to tweak my alts. Although I have found a couple of nice moddable schematics in Armsmech that I use, and that sell decently on the GTN.
  2. It would be cool though if each try added say a 1% to the next roll. I have not gotten to far into the affection system but does a maxed affection raise the chance above 20% or is that the best chance you will ever get?
  3. Yes lurkers are a problem. The way I look at is if I get one medal that is all I need, I can get that through direct pvp. If that is all I get it is still more fun to me to lemming constantly then stand around idle.
  4. Hmm so as a high level spending my time dropping down to run people through flashppoints and heroics isn't enough? Taking 4 hours of my time to make low level biochem consumables and sending them to the mail to anyone I thought could use them? As has been pointed out you can set the bank up with multiple pages with different access abilities. So it makes sense to do this for crafting material and consumables. Yes as a GM I could understand the worry of thieves, but if you make it clear that it is not a storage area that any item you put in is one that you don't want. I understand you really had no knowledge of the situation but decided that you could make judgement calls on my "guild hopping". My criteria is simple if there is drama I roll, if no one ever seems to be around in the guild I roll. So maybe I will make a guild, I even have a cool name in mind. If anyone wants to be a member of HEADBANGING WOOKIES on the ZB server let me know.
  5. So the third guild I have been in has gotten a guild bank. Once again the only way I can get anything from it is to find an officer or the gm and request permision to get the item I want. This makes no sense to me, I actually ended up leaving a good guild over issues regarding it. Mostly it was how the gm approached the issue when I raised it in guild chat but the gb was the catalyst. I have biochem as a crew skill so I spent 3 and half hours making lower leveled consumable that I put in the bank. Only to find that no one but the gm could pull them out. I guess I have a different idea of how to use the gb then the majority seems to.
  6. This is a good idea. I also disagree with the one use per fight for medkits, keep the cool downs but that limitation makes no sense to me.
  7. So in civil war I love healing from the balcany above the mid turret. I can use the pillars to block los from other caster/range opponents. If I get melees to focus on me I can fade back into the runway, if I am doing good I can drag them all the way down over the ledge. So once they kill me they have to run all the way back around to fight for mid or they see a turret hopefully guarded by a couple stealth team mates and will run for that. Eithier way he is removed from the fight and my path back is quicker. In huttball I prefer the opposing teams railing where I can use force wave to knock them of into the pit, of course it is 50-50 for the same thing to happen to me. I find that I can drag melee's down there pretty easy if I fall thus making them have to run out or find a los for their leap. It also puts me in good position for a pass if my teammates are paying attention. In void star I like the connexs sat at a slant above the doors. It gives me a good site line of the door that I can cast interupts and stuns from. It is good for both attack and defense as it pulls focus from the door as I am usually a favorite pin cushion. Sometimes it isn't obvious to people where the healing or damage is coming from. I have yet to find a good position in the coast, any advice?
  8. I have no idea where steam came from maybe I was thinking of the vent heat skill. I guess that is my problem I am going to have to overcome. On my vanguard I have to watch ammo in pvp but it hasn't been an issue in pve like heat is. I noticed it in a WZ earlier where my team was dominating with good heals. There came a point where I was literally out of the fight with full health and full heat. It kind of makes me feel worthless, which I never have on other classes.
  9. I bought a G700 and am really disapointed in it. The four thumb buttons are too hard for me to manipulate as my hand seems to big so I have to reposition. The three button on the left top can't seem to hold the binding. The two behind the mouse wheel I can't utlize at all. Basically I use the 3 position mousewheel which I can get on a standard. I am sure there are better designed ones, I would find a store that will let you try a model before you purchase.
  10. So I got my Merc to level 22 which is still a pretty low level. I noticed that in an elite or strong mob fight my steam built at a ridiculous rate so I was standing there with full health in no danger but unable to do anything until it clicked down. Does this get better at higher levels? Judging by playing as a level 38 Sage the fights at that level get longer, so will I be standing around waiting on my steam to release?
  11. I would have to go with snipers and operatives. Particularly if they know how to work the class. But I actaully try to get them raging/ focused on me using the theory that I am expendable. So while they are killing me someone else is hopefully completing an objective.
  12. So I was trying to run Maelstrom earlier with a group of 2 guardians and a sent with my sage. One of the guaridans was lvl 30 which is to low for that flashpoint, he honorably bowed out. A level 40 joins and we should be set to roll, but since he he hadn't completed the first flashpoint in the series we would of had to back track. Which I and the other guardian where willing to do but the hour and half of trying to get past the first champion plus trying to get a group together killed it for the sent. Who decided to call it quits. Why does it seem so hard to find a group for flashppoints and ops? I have begun describing this game as a single player game with a touch of mulitplayer. It was great on the first planet now the deeper I get the less chat and grouping I see, it seems to be by design, which I just don't understand.
  13. Some interesting strategies. I have only been playing the game for a month and some, my highest is lvl 38 sage with serveral lower-mid 20's. The sage is the easiest and quickest to solo with I have found so far, followed by my BH. I think that is just because your first companion is a healer. In general these are the strategies I use. If it is a group of standard/weak mobs I send the tank in with me about 25 meters back. Once he has used his AE I use force quake, before I had force quake I would target the one that always seemed to be standing outside the group and kill that one. Once that is done I target my tank and heal him to full health, usually the initial target is dead so we both target the last. If it was a strong with a few weaks I put my tank on the strong while I focus on the weak/standard target. Once they go down I target my tank and using force armor with my heal bring the tank to full health. Then target and finish of the strong. If it is two strongs, two elites, or a strong with an elite I again position myself 25 meters away. Set the tank to target the strongest mob while I target the other. In this case I want to draw aggro so I will cast before the tanks AE, once the mob focuses on me I cast force lift as they come towards me. Usually I can time it so it is lifted out of the tanks AE radius. I then bubble the tank and run close to his position but not so close I am in the AE of the enemy. I heal him up to full health then help with damage. Once the first one is done tank goes to the lifted target, I heal him to full then break the lift with 3 second dot. I find that I can move very quickly through groups of mobs this way. Where as with tanks I find I often have to stop and rest after every fight. With sage it is after every 4th or 5th fight.
  14. I always choose willpower on any item. After that I go with crit.
  15. I find a good number of orange schematics for synthwweaving, armtech and arsmec through both UT and slicing. Diplomacy has given me a couple but at a much lower rate. Most have been around the lvl 20 or lvl 115 skill level, which is fairly early to get modded gear.
