  1. couple added considerations if you are interested: 1. Healers are always needed for flashpoints/heroics so that would benefit you if you go Sorc 2. Inqisitors start with a Tank companion which isn't that awesome for an Assassin but a good match for a Sorc with some healing. You don't get another companion (other than the ship droid) until Tatooine I think so you only have the Tank as a companion all the way through roughly level 25+ (or just buy HK) 3. assassins have sneak and a mezz to get around a LOT of content and complete quests quickly.
  2. the female voice actor is VERY good. plus, she delivers all the lines so deadpan it is a great experience. good lines and good acting. I've found I have been enjoying watching the class story movies just to hear what she is going to say next. some great lines.
  3. Hi, I killed Revan last night and the blinking HK item showed up on top of the shelf. It would not let me click it and grab the item. Is there a bug or was I doing something incorrectly? Heaven forbid you just GET the item automatically once Revan goes down ...
  4. double-agree. we "testers" bother to log into the test server and file reports on bugs. those same EXACT bugs still go to production as-is. It doesn't matter WHY they don't fix the reported bugs, the fact that they are not addressed until after everyone on LIVE complains about them being there is very frustratiing for those of us who thought to help BW actually FIX the bugs before they go to LIVE. So, we are left with .... "Why even bother?"
  5. Marvel Superhero Squad Online has an awesome holiday event/new-zones. I play with my 5-year-old son. It's pretty sweet for F2P with a simple/basic model for children.

  7. if his hitpoints are not at the same level as yours then gear him out in all orange gear and pop all +endurance and defense mods in to the gear. He has a dps stance, but you still should gear him in tank-type mods/gear. Once I got his HP up to at least close to mine and gave him better defensive mods the little guy can take a decent licking and keep on ticking.
  8. Vanguard SOH you can go anywhere on all 3 continents. If you have a flying mount you can land on top of any mountain, any island, any huge building or artifice. If no mount, you can walk/climb/ride anywhere. Any land you can see you can go to. Any island you can see you can go to. Even at level 11 you can land safely somewhere in a level 50 area.

  10. I don't get this games PvE gear progression AT ALL. What the heck? By just running Eternity Vault Hard-Mode (arguably the easiest Ops around) I can gear up full Rakata. So, where to go from there? No unique pieces that are better drop in: 1. Karagga (any mode) = nope 2. Eternity vault Nightmare = nope 3. Explosive Conflict (story mode) = nope (with maybe 1 Black Hole drop at the final boss that only 1 person gets) 4. Terror From Beyond (story mode) = drops Rakata (what? still Rakata?) with ~1 BH drop for the whole raid 5. Hard Mode EC/TFB = THE ONLY PROGRESSION AND YOU NEED BLACKHOLE GEAR to clear And I'm not talking about "is it POSSIBLE to clear EC HM with just Rakata?". I think it is safe to say that it would not be easy for most to clear EC HM with just Rakata and for most just not possible. personally, I don't care because I am in campaign but I care in the sense that basically only 2 Operations are even worth the time to log in to the game. What ever happened to unique items that make you think about how you want to allocate your stats? Basically, anyone playing my same class/spec chooses the exact same gear because that is all there is to choose from.

  12. if they ONLY did class voiceovers and all else normal then I agree there would have been much more time for innovation and management of other areas. Think about the manpower and management involved with implementing hundreds of hours of voiceovers and graphics and synching, etc. You need to involve so many groups. Also, this is time taken away from management who could otherwise be overseeing another part of the game. shoulda/woulda/coulda. doesn't matter now though ...
  13. DPS went up quite a bit once I got a campaign barrel with 68 aim for my mainhand. 2 million credits well worth the price! Anyways, I think I forgot to put on one of my PvE implants but still managed 1200-1300 dps across all of Denova HM (tanks onwards). here's a link if you are interested: http://www.torparse.com/a/15879 (as described in this thread - basically all black hole/campaign with about 99% accuracy, 35% crit buffed, rest in power)
  14. use your stuns. you have two. plus, you have a throw and a punch that can be used as interupts. heal your companion. heal yourself. use a medpack. grab all the buffs from all the classes.
  15. you are getting to the 80% mark just as the SECOND double-destruction is hitting. you need to do 1 of a few things: 1. wait out the second double destruction before passing 80% 2. break the 80% mark before the second double-destruction occurs (preferred method). for #2 - since it seems you are close to 80%, have a 3rd dps do about 15k damage to Stormcaller at the start of the fight then have them jump back to firebrand. If your ground guy is dps then just have them pew-pew Stormcaller a few times to help you get to that 80% mark. Once you get to the 80% mark before the second DD you should be fine the rest of the fight.
  16. Been trying to get to over 1100 dps on EC HM (let's say the first 2 fights). Looking at my parses it seems I have some lulls where do NO damage (maybe during the movement phases?) Can anyone provide any tricks or advice on how to dps properly during movement phases or leaping phases like the Zorn/Toth fight and the Tank fight? Zorn/Toth - I usually have to stay with the same mob the whole fight due to melee dps following Toth. Firebrand/Stormcaller - I am usually on stormcaller and try to have him throw me in to the bubbles (wherever they are). I probably have some issues doing DPS right after the bubble phase and getting back on Stormcaller. My current thinking is: Fight 1: - Time the leaps perfectly in order to use an AOE on both bosses - Time leaps perfectly in order to cast explosive dart and have it hit both bosses - Time circle-phase perfectly and fire off a Fusion Missile just before needing to move my last parse (you can see when not moving i can sustain ~1300-1500 dps, just not at all times): http://www.torparse.com/a/6176 thanks for the help.

  18. I did notice the heat issues initially. Then I concentrated on only refreshing Incend. Missile just before expiring and using rapid shots to proc the burning dot (if not already burning) before hitting rail shot. After doing that the heat seemed to be manageable. thanks for the rotation tips. Anyone have a parse with decent dps for pyro?
  19. I've been Arsenal since launch but decided to try out Pyro last night. Strictly PvE speaking, I couldn't get much over 1300 dps on the ops training dummy (fully buffed with stim). Arsenal I can get to ~1550-1600 dps on the dummy. So, is Pyro naturally lower in dps than Arsenal or am I missing a key rotation for Pyro that will up my dps by 2-300? Basic rotation was: 1. always keep incediary missile dot on target 2. always try to keep CGC dot on target 3. use railshot when available and burning is procced on target 4. use thermal detonator when available 5. utilize unload or powershot in order to refresh railshot. there definitely is a lot of management with pyro to make sure all dots are going all the time and try to make sure the target is burning before using rail shot. Am I missing something perchance? thanks in advance.

  21. 1. How do you think your Mercenary spec is perceived by other classes? ARSENAL PvE - middle dps. marauder/sniper/powertech-pyro can out dps us with less gear. I do enjoy the utility of: a. cleanse comes in handy for Ops b. can off-heal when healer is down or we need another person to keep the tank up while healer is occupied PvP - we suck. I feel like this "heavy armor" does NOTHING for me. I am dropped like a sack of potatoes within 10 seconds. before 1.2 I PvP'd every single day and loved it. Now I rarely PvP. I usually avoid it. It is just not fun and I have no way to escape. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? If we have to move our dps drops WAY down. we only have 1 dot and that is a 1.5 sec cast and on a long cooldown. If we could keep that dot active and somehow spec to lower the cost it would help. If we could spec to lower the cast time of tracer that might help our moving and low dps situations. I kind of like dots but enjoy arsenal so adding 1 more dot ability to the top of the tree would be nice and that could also help in increasing our dps while moving (apply dot, move around).
  22. wouldn't more crit help Unload proc more? or losing 5% and adding more power is more beneficial?
