  1. The whole deal with the Eternal Throne is that it is the sole point of control for the Eternal Fleet. Arcann and Thexan weren't going anywhere without Valkorion providing the ships. You might be able to take some Republic worlds but Korriban has a Dreadnought fleet in orbit. You'd be dead before you hit the ground if you tried to invade without the Eternal Fleet. Valkorion didn't want Arcann going to Korriban. Maybe V felt he wasn't ready to fight Sith Lords or maybe V foresaw that the Sith would happily drop an airstrike on him. Valk absolutely did approve the general operation though, and to obvious purpose. It really wrecked the Sith before they knew they had a new enemy. Valk does know that once they start a war with the Sith, they had better win The Republic wouldn't glass Zakuul.
  2. Before there was Lana Beniko, Marr was the only Sith Lord most players interacted with who was sane and prgamatic. He also plays against type because he's in faceless Juggernaut armor but is thoughtful with a bit of dry humor. That he's aware that he is dying also puts the crazy Sith ambition on ice. He has power over the Empire but has concluded that he should try to make it run as best he can before he succumbs. He doesn't deny that he is succumbing or seek to do anything about that. He's also something of a bro to the SI and SW, again being the only superior who doesn't mess with them. That he could work with Satele is plausible.
  3. Trusting Valkorion is...not bright. He's straight-face betrayed people on a massive scale too many times. If he doesn't like it, tough. Being immortal means you have to live with your mistakes. It's not like he's the least bit sorry he vape'd Ziost either. At very best he views it as a curiosity that altered his life.
  4. And she has godlike powers even the Knights have never seen before. The Knights are Force-sensitive but not particularly strong/skilled and they only view it as a tool. Vaylin can seemingly do whatever she wants and no one taught her much of this. So take that plus that she'll arbitrarily kill anyone - including Knights - and the Knights aren't going to say a dang thing or allow anyone else to say something that could have even possibly originated with them. - And Senya does believe that Valkorion wasn't who she thought he was. You can talk to her about the children and she's extremely upset by how he acted and continuously disappeared, and she is very traumatized by how Vaylin has turned out.
  5. Having played around with it, Khem mostly cares you don't suck. He hates corrupt/cowardly Dark Side actions as much or more than minor compassion. In the old system you could net out 50+ affection on general quests by being hard-line or aggressive to your questgiver, then absorbing a -1 or -2 for not murdering something. Khem could coexist nicely with a Light III or even IV Inquisitor so long as the Dark points came from killing Force users. He's not like Dark Jaesa or Scourge who hit you with -200 for touching the Light dial.
  6. She's the one that's going somewhere between her and Arcann. Valkorion says it himself, Arcann can't conceive of his own ambition, all he has is jealousy. Vaylin revels in what she can do with the Force. Her ambition seems to be nothing beyond power... But her dad did say she was his favourite and we know what his attitude on power was. Oh he does if you are Sith. Chapter 2 is explicit in at least three ways on that point.
  7. Gotta have Thana. Good for both those building a little Sith Order inside the Alliance and for everyone who wants to kill her (again). Lord Praven was quite an interesting character and canonically should be alive (its major Dark Side for the JK to kill him). He also fits the Odessen ethic. The trollish JK on Belsavis the Sith Warrior works with.
  8. If you have a hard crowd control and good enough gear you can solo Heroic Star Fortress with a16 Lana. This was sloppy but also done with a squishy class and a 11/12 Lana:
  9. There are lots of those on Korriban and Dromund Kass. Thana Vesh, a former star pupil of the Academy, is Vaylin without the skill/power.
  10. The whole issue is that what it takes for a cranky Force User to kill a normal person is arbitrary. Malgus kills an entire squad of the Jedi Temple troops in Coruscant because he wants to, and later uses human- lethal amounts of direct Force on Jedi just as easily. Scourge does the same thing in the Jedi Knight story, choking out a dozen elite Imperials without raising a hand or using his saber. [shock him] is a running gag with the Inquisitor and it goes to lethal levels, as does the Force nukes Inquisitor and Thanaton throw at each other. If killing people is that easy, there's nothing you can do.
  11. What I mean is, Dark Inquisitor is Space Joker, while Light Inquisitor mostly makes the same pro-Empire, anti-teamkilling decisions Marr does/would. Dark Sith options are often the equivalent of giving Marr a decision wheel of "Thank Satele for her help" (Light)/ "Kill Satele" (Dark).
  12. If you think Lana is Light, you're not giving her a chance to be Dark. Now, the Jedi will take anyone (they have a Pureblood Sith and a former Dark Council member) but you have to mean it.
  13. Confirmation? I thought it was Imps - Mostly Dark, Pubs - Mostly Light. A Light Inquisitor makes more sense than a Dark Councilor, but that's mostly because of Marr also being honorable and not a moron.
  14. Old Republic era is tilted far more morally gray than anything that has been or looks like it will be in the movies. Star Wars films are some of the least complicated good/bad you will ever find. KOTOR I & II, SWTOR and especially KoTFE are litered with deconstructions and more human behavior. It would be difficult to tackle Old Republic without trashing it.
  15. The only thing that will ever challenge WoWs relative size will be the first decent VR MMO. Age of Conan, Warhammer, SWTOR, TESO - none of these came close. But the people that made WoW a world unto its own are in their late 20s and 30s now. Apart from independently wealthy folks and stay at home parents, no one has time for that anymore. WoW started bleeding subs left and right at the end of Wrath and has just kept going from there. Warlords is widely considered a garbage expansion and it all but crippled the game. It's a different world now.
  16. V himself claims the Valkorion identity as his primary focus, making Vitiate as we knew him the sideshow.
  17. Not to mention sexism. Vaylin is a particularly psychotic Darth Vader. But of course she would be a cool sex partner for the protagonist, because evil chick. As opposed to, you know, her actual and obvious behavior. Maybe BioWare can put in an easter egg like the lethal Asari in ME.
  18. I see the "Alliance" as those individuals with a particular problem with Zakuul. The Imps hate them of course (Korriban, killed Marr, general principle etc.) but Republic government is stated to be incompetent. So all malcontent Republic troops...join up with the Imperials. Your Alliance is clearly scranbling for resources. The Jedi look like they got flattened; we've yet to see one we know besides Satele and she is in exile. The most visible Jedi in the enclave is a young teenage girl who seems to be training with a human Sith friend/boyfriend. [Cue fanfic] So you might well be a small minority viewpoint. Zakuul itself is a post-Singularity utopia where 99%+ of people live in luxury. Their work and wars are done with droids. It is a higher standard of living than Coruscant ever obtained, let alone how uniform it is. If that is what Valkorion actually wants galaxy wide, it is silly to be fighting them, let alone siding with Sith to do so. However...Arcann and Vaylin have respectively lost their mind and never had one. The Star Fortresses are occasionally used for Sith-like behavior; this is entirely at Arcann and Vaylin's discretion. There is reason to believe there will be a second stage here and no one will like it.
  19. Old no. New, yes, Theran, Koth and Lana are all bi.
  20. She would be right. The SI and Marr were doing whatever they wanted and getting Council assent afterwards. The SI is also menacingly powerfu in duels and, well, Sith. Possibly crazy as well and known to have killed two superiors. Doesnt that sound like fun...
  21. The issue with the Knights is that Valkorion designed their gear to hard-counter lightsabers. Pike and shield is very difficult to beat with a sword and pikes don't have death-touch sides like lightsaber pikes do. The ONLY reason the Knights would use this gear is to kill Jedi/Sith. As police their Force sensitivity and a dull stave are more than enough (especially with what seems an aversion to killing in Zakuul culture). The Knights don't know this, but it is obvious.
  22. On date of death of Darth Karrid, Acina is junior to the Inquisitor as a Councilor.
  23. Which is actually a moderately Light or Dark Inquisitor, not the full Dark one. They get what they want without burning every relationship ever. Ultraviolence doesn't work well in KoTFE either. You only have one real Sith around you so being oppressive and vicious is unhelpful more than anything. And Lana doesn't like Stupid Evil either.
  24. Zakuul also has a weird attitude on control. This might be because the general population are some Culture type post-Singularity, post-scarcity existence. They have no clue what is going on and next-to-no involvement in the war. 99% of their troops are AI. Punishing Zakuul's population for the war is wrong, in case the game hasn't made that clear to you yet. The whole "Outlander" thing implies they never got visitors prior to attacking the galaxy, and the Knights view the Outlander as a law enforcement issue (because they don't understand anything else). They actually do expect you to surrender during your escape despite what you've done. Most criminals they get do surrender, since most can't scratch a Knight??? It's an odd society and not ready to be the center of the galaxy the PCs are from. And even there, keeping Sith off Coruscant is a pain and the underworld is just a fact.
