Character limits go up, basically every account class will see it's base limit doubles, so F2P - will go to 4 (from 2) Pref - goes up to 12 (from 6) Sub - raised to 24 (from 12) Source: Message from Eric Musco

From what I gathered, subscribers can activate and play as many characters as they have created before the merge, but not make any new characters beyond the (current single-server) limit. So they could play their 260 characters, but not create any new. Preferred can only activate and play upto their current limit.
-
Got the answer through reddit, in short, for preferred accounts the active character cap remains the same, so if the total amount of characters from merged servers exceeds the current cap you'll be stuck with some inactive characters.

BW Does not care about solo/story players?!?!
nimmerstil replied to psandak's topic in General Discussion
We wont, they had their chance with KotFE but failed. Even with the same plot, each character's personality could have been preserved in the dialogues for little extra cost, but they didn't even manage to do that. -

It is almost zero story, not exactly zero, but almost zero. -
Why are all new European servers to bear sith names?
nimmerstil replied to Johrun's topic in General Discussion
I don't like a server named after him either, probably none of the characters appearing in the class game should be used. Malgus is for the empire what Satele is to the republic, the one you frequently interact with for flashpoints and operations. He is a to the point, rational and not a lunatic kind of Sith. There is no other empire then the empire as it's depicted in the game -
Yeah, that's in the FAQ, but it doesn't answer the question of how many toons you can have activated once your account becomes preferred.

What will be the (active) character limit for accounts in preferred (previous subscription) status? FAQ only mentions subscriber and free-to-play

Why is Bioware so much more willing to kill Imperial characters?
nimmerstil replied to -Marauder-'s topic in Story and Lore
Well, problem is that the republic poster guys are, with a few exceptions, not as likable as their empire counterparts. Nobody gives a damn about Sareesh dying, but Malgus and Marr ... We care about these characters so we're more moved by their misfortune. If anything, more empire characters dying then republic is an indication that the empire has 'better' characters ... -
Nope, there is no canon Inquisitor outlander. The instant 60's are not canon, they are defaults, they are the result of one particular set of choices, just as any other character you (can) make. There's only 'need' for a canon outlander when the story continues, or is referenced, in other stories. Until then, and until that particular author makes the choice, there is no canon outlander.

Trailer was good because it focused on the two brothers and the dynamic of their love in contrast with their cold father, adding the sister would have diluted and weakened it.

Should I invest in this game or just go play kotor

That was your mistake, right there: "reading the forums". Don't. Read. The. Forums. Go away, leave this place and enjoy the game. -

If it's dark environment I might not even notice other players when I have nametags disabled. -

They'll probably ninja-loot the diner table and be back in the game in no time. -

It's the behavior you just claimed people should get used to that is destructive to MMO's. -
No strawman, your deception. Your OP stated companions had become too strong after the last update, which is false since they haven't changed in the last update and they could solo H2's on the starter planets before the update..
-
Strawman. It's about companions being able to solo H2's on Makeb, not PC+Companion soloing them.

No, the Inquisitor story make it clear one Sith (Lord) can not just kill another just because they wanted to, or even because it fit their career planning. High ranking Sith like Thanaton can supposedly get away with killing young Lords like the Inquisitor. It's probably more a matter of who has enough influential allies to make a fuss about a killing. The Darth that killed your apprentices? You hit Thanaton harder by bribing him Anyway, Thanaton is trying to kill you, for no valid reason, he and is allies are fair game.

Your posts show you haven't the slightest notion of what continuity means or why it is important. If the story (chosen by and) presented to him has Baras's live being spared then any other source claiming otherwise is breaking the continuity of the story. A major sin in storytelling. The 'encyclopedia' can not represent the multitude of possible outcomes of the events that play in the game, compared to the actual game the encyclopedia is an inferior work.

Guild numbers prove interesting in the wake of 4.0/4.01/4.02

A note, subscriber rewards. Subscribing from the end July through mid October requires 2 x 2 month subscribtion, because one is not enough, add a week referral and you'd end up end november, begin december. -
They are part of a character's story If, for instance, Khem Val is behind Pierce then any Inquisitor wouldn't have to do Khem's recruitment task, but they do have to do Pierce's Warzones. Every companion that is locked behind Pierce is part of some character story, and would normally not require that character to do any recruitment missions. The PvP requirement for companions, is a stupid, silly and cheap form of manipulation, and the obviousness of the manipulation makes it disrespectful, almost insulting. I wouldn't mind doing the PvP so much, but I refuse to because of this. I totally agree, you shouldn't have to do any PvE to be able to play PvP.

Not only the similarities between the humanoid species, but especially the possibility of interbreeding can not be a coincidence, there must be a common origin, or genetic engineering somewhere in the galactic history.

The Empire under Palpatine was actually The Republic not long before. The Empire under Vitiate during TOR had been an empire for a millenium - though the more recent additions would have been Republic once.

Let both groups please stop claiming GF for themselves, Group Finder is for everyone, it's not just for leveling and it's not just for people who've finished leveling.
