  1. This!! I logged on just to find one of these threads haha. I’ve complained a bit on the last few updates about the lack of story so this was amazing, I was so happy with the balance of combat and dialogue/cutscenes! The party banter between the characters was also really amusing, I love that they just started arguing haha. Even if the traitor storyline wasn’t exactly my favourite, I think they wrapped it up a lot better than the last two flash points. I also really enjoyed looking around Nathema. There were little green fireflies and dust particles and everything, super kudos to the art team! I felt very immersed just because I really enjoyed exploring the area. [spoilers ahead] I’m not going to lie, I laughed a lot when all the kotfe/et plot items just started blowing up. I mean if you’re going to retcon, why not do it with a bang
  2. I really like this idea ahh! Like you and other people have kind of said, I doubt it would happen, but it would be a lovely feature if it did I’m admittedly not too sure of the canon timings myself other than the 5 years in carbonite, but I always felt like they missed a kind of emotional trick with aging, story-wise? For me at least with my male SW main, the 1-50 story refers to him as a ‘kid’ or ‘brat’ or along those lines, so I always assumed he was at the younger age of the spectrum, although maybe a bit older than Vette or Jaesa, as they can both be immature in different ways I would have loved it if they made it canon that when you came out of the carbonite you found that your lover was now older and had matured without you, and the changes that could bring to your relationship? I can imagine a similar thing happening with Quinn and slightly maturer characters too, although perhaps it’s like a bittersweet nostalgia, because their love has literally not aged a day— I’m literally just headcanoning at this point LOL Maybe this kind of plot would be better in a single player game, or cheesy book Anyway yes!! I like to think that age-wise it’s like, a fresh out of college to adult progression for at least the player character, with older or younger age ranges for others? But I’m probably biased as a college student myself I like your line of thinking, though!
  3. I’d really love some clarity on how the upcoming story is being delivered: similar to pre-KOTFE questing, or through FPs again? It sounds like the latter and whilst I love the characters of this game, I probably would cancel my sub. I honestly wouldn’t mind even a fetch quest at this point, just for some new dialogue that resembles a conversation, not an explanation of events. I feel like even these small things helped so much with the world building in the 1-50 story. Like some other people have said, you don’t even need to create a whole new area, we can revisit an old planet, talk to npcs and have a bit of non-FP fighting in open areas (people fighting alongside one another!) in between? For me, I personally miss how in the old expansions it would start you off in your ship bantering with your crew. It really added to the ‘RP’ aspect of a Roleplaying Game in that it made the characters and their relationships feel real, and I think that’s what people look for with ‘Bioware Storytelling’, to feel a part of the story. I would argue this hasn’t been achieved with this Theron arc as, if you took away the player character’s ability to speak, would anything actually change at all? At least Makeb made me feel like I’d caused mass destruction by the end. Sorry for that ramble if anyone actually bothered with it but I do think the formatting here is a bit strange? You can create a story-heavy game and make it still open as a MMO, FFXIV comes to mind. Maybe a FP once in a while, like for a chapter/arc climax? But not as a replacement for actual story, I think.
  4. I’m quite interested to see where the class specifics go! Right now I only really play on my SW boy haha. I was thinking Jaesa might be a multi-class character, but a personal (and probably murder-y, they didn’t get along) encounter would work too! I like that our characters might get tied back down to their origin stories again, my boy hasn’t been called Sith in ages! I read some people speaking about the missed opportunity between Vette-Risha though for other classes, that is kind of sad. Maybe later, she might be a story npc? I’m really happy to hear that you’ve developed these new alliance alert quests into proper cinematics this time. I’d love it if in the future we could get closer to all our companions like this, even if it was just for silly missions! Curious to see how this story arc wraps up, and where you guys will go next! Good luck for this year.
  5. My tiny bit of casual feedback ahaha I will admit that with all the cool gearsets suddenly going up for sale and the 70s tokens it does feel a bit ominous ahh! I’ll be optimistic and just hope you guys are gunning for a bit more cash, or about to launch something weeps. One thing I would kind of suggest, if anyone reads this, but could there maybe be more of a balance (not one over the other) between story and flashpoints? I think the ‘Bioware Storytelling’ is what made this game so attractive, so having only tiny snippets of dialogue, usually said by the protagonist but not chosen by us, kind of hurts! Is this maybe because it costs so much to support all the different voice actors and dialogue options? Admittedly my only MMO comparison is another game I subscribe to, each of their patch updates tend to follow a pattern of cutscenes-> dungeon/flashpoints-> cutscenes (presented in that order). I’m not sure if they have more of a budget than the SWTOR team (I know EA has a reputation for pulling money/team members from projects!), but I think if we had a balance of a flashpoint, but a strong story moment (like a character building scene with the companion we’ll be working with, or something involving the protagonist’s feelings), it would make things a bit more memorable and satisfying? Admittedly I’m more of a casual player, but I still found the flashpoint battles a little bit too long and not eventful. I feel like the fights with Arcann or in KOTFE in general, where we had to interact with items or just fought in crazy arenas, felt a bit more empowering, to me this flashpoint in particular felt a bit repetitive. Maybe that’s because it’s designed to be taken on as a group and not really by a solo player, but I will be honest and say I did get quite bored, even if I did like the visuals for Copero a lot. Thank you for engaging with the playerbase! These are my personal feelings as a subscriber anyway. I have a lot of love for the characters and my Wrath protagonist, I kind of miss my character’s Sith/Imperial roots, I do hope we can return to these eventually, maybe after the final Theron story thing? Through passion we gain strength, I hope the love that the playerbase has for this game can hopefully help you guys drive it!
  6. (WARNING FOR SPOILERS EVERYWHERE) I completely agree I only play a Dark V Sith Warrior, so I assumed that Lana would be the traitor for Republic or light-side players? Pretty shocked to hear that nope, Theron just betrays everyone. I mean, maybe it'll turn around and he's aiding the masked figures "for your benefit" or whatever in the end, but that would be equally as cliche and disappointing. Honestly I wouldn't have even minded this 'revelation' if they just kind of scripted it a bit better? The confrontation on the train felt kind of bland. This! I feel really sorry for the other story-players that haven't had their romance options back yet, it seems really unfair. I knew it was unlikely, but I was kind of hoping the romance option or someone from your old crew would betray the main character? Like maybe becoming a tyrannical dictator pushed them over the edge. (For me, I kind of wish that Vette pointed out how her Sith turned from a nice-ish guy into a crazy megalomaniac with the KOTFE expansion, I know that's asking too much of the game though ) I guess that wouldn't make sense if you were playing a good guy though haha. ALSO THIS! XD Had this option with the sith warriors too. I laughed (in a bad way), like why. "I can kill you here" and then lets the guy go like a minute later? IMO this is the biggest symbol for this current story's shoddy writing. I could have even accepted it if Theron used some kind of Force blocker or a rock fell in between them or something but no, the main character just forgets they can use the Force and he skips away, ***. XD I don't even mind waiting a long time for tiny pieces of story, just please make it good. I know it's a small chance, but I'm hoping that they'll use this "hunting him down" plot to maybe let us explore some planets with the old crew again (or at least people who aren't Lana, I don't dislike her but I want to see some of the other characters), and find a few missing characters. I have a bad gut feeling they're going to focus on these masked figures instead though, and it's going to again drift away from the Republic vs. Empire feeling which we were only just getting back... Usually I'm pretty optimistic and don't complain much I swear, but I feel like these updates are starting to feel less and less well crafted. Kind of just hoping for a KOTOR3 at this point... unless it has this shoddy writing.
  7. Thank you for the road map! As a story-focused subscriber I'm mostly looking forward to the new story in August! (hopefully that isn't just a flashpoint!! weeps). It felt like the first part of the Iokath story seemed to be bringing back in those Sith vs Jedi traditions, and to be honest whilst I enjoyed KOTFE (kotet less so, sorry; ) I missed that a lot I hope maybe that over the course of this year the story can maybe start pushing back in that direction, because I think people missed that imp v. pub feeling a lot? I think doing the idea of feedback Wednesdays should be interesting, but there's also the whole "A camel is a horse made by committee" and all that; Star Wars alone is likely why the SWTOR community is extremely varied, from hardcore MMO'ers to casuals, RPers, and people who have never really had an interest in gaming (I'm always surprised at how many of my friend's dads play this ). To be honest, I think it will be hard to isolate what feedback and ideas to build on, when a lot of them likely contradict each other, but to be less of a pessimist I think it's good that someone is stepping forward for discussion, since I've read a lot of people saying about how Bioware seems pretty disengaged with its players; Hopefully relations can improve! In any case, to Keith and the team, good luck for the year ahead! I'm curious to see how things turn out, hopefully everyone will have something to be happy about. (Also, customisable Shae Vizla?? I didn't even know you could get her as a companion hahah;;;; )
  8. Haha! In honesty I already do 4 a lot, kind of? My head-canon whilst I'm running around doing the main story. My kind of idea is that he doesn't really have sympathy for how other aliens are treated by the Empire, because he doesn't really class himself as one, so hiding his face was a pretty good way to do it And aah! I really like your idea 3), I didn't think of that at all and it would work perfectly (really correlates with my idea of him struggling to relate to aliens too, maybe he was raised partially by the human/pureblood half?) Thank you! And I agree, I think anything can be made possible? I figured checking out what was and wasn't realistic/possible with others beforehand could help a lot with the "thoughtful" part though haha
  9. I don't think this falls under "If you change appearance while on Iokath it will not be updated in Iokath cutscenes until you leave the planet and return" (from the known issues thread), because it actually happens outside of cutscenes? The "show dark side corruption" button seems to turn itself off whenever you close the character menu, and clicking it does nothing, even though you see your character flicker/reload when you press the button. Tried logging out and in and it fixed it once, but as soon as I moved to a new zone on the map it had stopped working again/he had reverted back to no-corruption, so maybe something to do with that? I checked and it still works fine anywhere outside of Iokath. Playing on Progenitor, screenshot of menu not being obedient here: http://oi67.tinypic.com/5n6e7k.jpg Usually he's like, paper-pale so
  10. Lmao yes XD "Better not piss off the kid we just saw blow up a moon... And a bus... And a hospital..." I wonder if the racism will continue in the new story, simply because (hopefully not too many spoilers implied), I think the Empire have had other problems on their mind.
  11. Hi guys! I'm really sorry, I thought I pressed email subscribe to this but I got no notifications Thank you so much for all your contributions! Hey Grania! And yeah, Zabrak are one of the playable classes at the start: I picked it as a non-subscriber for my first ever character. I didn't specify warrior or inquisitor because watching my friend playing as a (human) inquisitor, he started off as a slave rather than a Lord? so as far as I know Lords are exclusive to the warrior class. As for the reference about being an alien in the story, actually there are a few here and there? But usually the response is like, if an imperial says something damning about aliens, and you call them out on it, they're like "Oh, but not your kind, my lord... I mean the savages". Which is why I got a bit confused about where Zabrak stand on the social ladder In hindsight, maybe it's because it's meant for Sith Purebloods? I'm not sure why zabrak are available as a starter race for warrior, maybe it's like Cuiwe said, because people really like Darth Maul. XD Yes it did XD but thank you, this makes for super interesting reading! Also, I remember ages ago reading about Iridonia in passing, but then I completely forgot about it. It would make a lot of sense as an origin planet but wah yeah, now I'm even questioning the meaning of what a Zabrak is I feel like this has both solved and created problems lmao. Thank you so much for the detailed answer though! Also I remember in-game it says something about the Rakata being responsible for creating the Zabrak amongst other races, or something like that? I guess that has something to do with their foundation on Rattatak maybe? Not sure. Thank you to everyone else for your blunt answers by the way! So now I have it in the clear that only Purebloods and Human are good in the Empire, in the traditional sense. I've worked out how to work my way around it haha, hopefully to make him an exception (time for adoption and constantly hiding race lmao). Reading up on Iridonians, they really seem to suit my character because he's a fury-built marauder? So... excessive violence, good fit... I have a lot more head-canon to roll with haha. This explains a lot. XD
  12. I finally saved up enough to get a jukebox, only to find this glitch too ahhh I only use my Nar Shaddaa stronghold so what a waste of credits;; Please try to fix the sound bugs, Bioware!
  13. Hi guys! I read the forum guidelines but am still a little unsure, so hopefully I am asking this in the right section! Basically I'm trying to round out my main character, I have his personality down but am struggling a bit on his backstory? Admittedly I'm not too familiar to the extended universe, I've only played SWTOR and watched the films. I made my character a Red Zabrak Sith Lord before I knew about the treatment of Near-Humans by the Imperials, so I've been trying to work out how I could make that make sense, since me and a friend are thinking of doing some fan-art/comics. He's actually orange-tanned rather than red-skinned, so I'm debating over whether he was born into a Red Zabrak Sith family, but kind of alienated because of his skin? Or, if Zabrak hold no power despite their red-ness (It seems like it's a respected Sith trait, at least with Pureblood Sith?), maybe he was a past servant or adopted by a human Lord? (TLDR) Questions: 1) Are red Zabrak respected by the Sith/Empire, if they have red skin? Would they be able to be Lords or sent to Korriban as respected students (Sith Warrior storyline) according to Empire values? 2) Does Darthomir exist in the Old Republic canon? If yes, would it make sense for Sith to find Zabrak servants/slaves from here? If no, can you recommend any other planets? Sorry for all the rambling, I hope someone can help! Also, if anyone out there is really into Star Wars Lore, could you recommend me anything else I can check out, that maybe has good examples of near-human characters? I like books and comics and everything haha Thank you so much!
  14. I just finished chapter X so I checked it out to read more about my companion's reactions, but I noticed for some of the characters it's added actions to their 'interactions' section that my character didn't actually do? Basically it says he saved The Spire (he definitely didn't), but also then says he blew up the Spire? I don't really mind if this is a text-only glitch (like if it's just the writing is a bit iffy), but I'm not sure if it could actually effect any quest conversations in the future, as in the game actually thinks that I did do that action, so I felt it was worth reporting just in case! (Can't have my Sith lord appearing like a good guy after all ) For screenshot evidence: (so to verify, it should be saying that my character did blow up the Spire) Conflicting writing for Koth: http://imgur.com/VRZTk2W Incorrect writing for Senya: http://imgur.com/Ml5weZR And for good measure, weird empty section with Lana that's been there since before chapter X: http://imgur.com/0TvSmYQ So that's it! Again, I'm more worried about if it will actually effect the plot of my game rather than just being a face-value (if that makes sense) x__x
  15. Oh, I have! I think that's what Shrinkies are/were made of (I used to get that a lot as a present when I was a kid XD). From the look of it I'm not sure how well water-based paints sit on it (a lot of the designs in Google Images are quite glassy/transparent-ish in colour), but I will definitely look out for it in craft shops for a test run + v + And aw, thank you very much! ; v ; I love the character customisation in SWTOR, so I would love the chance to draw other people's characters and see the characters they've created. If I can find a way to make charms that's less time-consuming than cutting into wood, I would love to undergo it as a project
