  1. I agree. Blade barrage looks so much better than the current ravage's standing forward tuck compared to BB's full twisting layout
  2. Thanks that was helpful. So 230 with a set bonus is nothing to sneeze at. You can do HM Ops in it?
  3. So as someone who never really did ops in 4.0 and geared through crystals, crafting and spending a fortune on left side pieces to get my main and a few alts in *close* to BiS 220 without set bonuses, I'm wondering what the new tier ratings are now that there are half tiers and whatnot and what tier you actually need to complete what content. Let me know if I'm understanding this right: The old base tier 208 was craftable from the trainer and there was 112 gear that was poorly optimized that you could RE some stuff to obtain and others came straight from the trainer. This gear also dropped from TFPs (208). 216 gear dropped from SM OPs with set bonuses and was pretty much well optimized but needed a little tweaking in some cases. You could get poorly optimized 216 from the vendor for glowing crystals (no set bonus) and you needed this level of gear to complete HM OPs and it helped a lot with some of the harder HMFPs. 220 set bonus dropped from HM OPs and could be bought for radiant crystals with the same caveats as above and you needed it to attempt NiM OPs which dropped 224 BiS set bonus gear and then you were done. You could in theory craft your way to a well optimized 220 (no set bonus) armour and weapon set by buying the mods and enhancements off the GTN, putting them in gear, pulling them out and RE-ing them to learn the schematic. It was pretty expensive but I did it for the unlettered lethal mod and the adept, quick savant and initiative enhancements. For the armourings I just used the crystal gear because they were the same. The mats weren't cheap but because I had already foregone set bonus, I only needed one set for my DPS classes. The left side, I relied on crystal gear for my alts and just laid out the money for my two mains. I did all this in about six weeks and I was happy with it. I didn't really need that level for the content I was running HMFPs, PvP (seperate gear) and Heroics/SFs/EC/Other solo content but I wanted it and I got it. Now I'm a bit confused. I'm killing myself to get a full 230 set and this is what? The Equivalent of 208 or 212? Say I get lucky and gear out in BiS 230 gear with set bonus what is this good for? Is it just story mode OPs, Veteran FPs, SM Uprisings and PvP regs which already have bolster? Is 230 enough to complete vet chapters even though the devs said tier 2 with a level 20 comp? Are people doing HM OPs in 230 gear? Is 230 the new 216 or the new 208? Are people in ranked PVP already in tier 2 gear? I played some ranked matches and checked out some of my team and they were not but some matches we were just creamed like we didn't stand a chance so I have to wonder. What is the hardest content you are doing in your 230 gear? Is it worth even bothering with when it is only a fraction above 228 crafted. Is anyone just disintegrating everything in the hopes of getting to tier 2 more quickly? Feedback appreciated.
  4. This basically. Every Jedi/Sith with some training can deflect blaster fire with their sabre and as their arms don't move at the speed of sound, I assume they slow the bullets down before knocking them away. I'm doing the JK classic story right now and I've come up against at least three Imperial non-force-users who said something along the lies of "I've been trained to kill Jedi" and I think, "No, you've probably been trained to be cannon fodder to keep the Jedi busy while everyone else carries out the rest of the mission."
  5. It takes a bit of mental gymnastics but I make it work for most classes. The only one that really gets me is my scrapper scoundrel bringing fists to a force fight... as if you could just punch Vaylin or Valkorian to death. The mirror spec, concealment, at least uses knives.
  6. I can't find the gold post but they actually said exactly this. It originally dropped according to your AC but they changed it to the discipline you're in when you open the crate when players complained.
  7. You're right about one thing. I unsubbed and was preferred for a few hours but even with all the unlocks it was awful and I caved and resubbed for a month just to finish off some character stories and maybe make some headway into the GC grind so I'm not completely left behind if they change things but I feel sh-tty about it so when I've really had enough, I won't go preferred, I will just stop playing altogether. I've more that paid for the single player part of this game 10 times over just in cartel coins. I didn't expect something for nothing and purchased unlocks with real money and still the game makes me feel like the lowliest scrub for not subbing so when I'm done with all my characters it will probably be back to single player RPGs for me because this MMO game is a racket.
  8. Haha, these are my final hours and I'm a bit delirious about going preferred. This system will never work for me because the only options I have is playing one toon all the time and actually standing a chance at getting to tier 3 before 6.0 drops or saying f--k it and and make do with tier 1 gear and actually have fun playing my alts. Without that gear I can't do ranked PvP or veteran/master mode chapters and uprisings so I don't know what I'm working towards or paying for. And everything is so SLOW!!! unless I make myself miserable by grinding the same thing over and over again. If all my level 70s were contributing to to my GC rank, I would re-sub in a heartbeat
  9. Before my sub runs out in a few hours I just had to say that this doesn't help my main problem one bit because the game is still punishing me for playing alts. All the time I'm not playing my "main", I'm delaying myself from getting to tier 3. If I want to be competitive in ranked I have to play one character all day everyday and only do PVP or OPS to get the tokens or components in a timely fashion. I'm already getting creamed by guys in tier 2 gear. The best thing about PVP in 4.0 as far as group content went was that it was easy to gear for and didn't feel like a second job. I realise regs have bolster but I want to play ranked too. Just not all day every day on the same character. If I don't though, I'll be quickly out-geared and not stand a chance.I guess ranked will be for the hardcore no-lifers only now then? or the super rich? or the exploiters?
  10. Any Hennig's New SW game at Visceral is an action RPG not an MMO.
  11. This is BS to the extreme unless you are talking about mixing and matching bonuses from different tiers, which still might not get you a full set bonus. This is unlikely but not the near statistical impossibility you're making it out to be. As for getting a whole tier's worth of set bonus, I'm already very unlikely to do that before I hit 90 and tier 1 starts to become useless for the content I wish to tackle. Tier 2 could be the same way and I doubt I'll ever get to tier 3 with the rate of CXP being what it is now and how much time I have to play and then in a year there will be a new expansion and new levels of gear and the grind will start all over again. No thanks.
  12. That was the chapter 10 update right? And it was laggy as hell when it finally worked and a bazillion players logged on to battle Skytroopers from hundreds of miles away. I exaggerate of course
  13. I don't care if they do this because I am sick to DEATH of constant PVP to feel like I'm getting anywhere and I actually like PVP but I just cannot play one more match. I'm out. I unsubbed until they may make the whole system MUCH faster than even before the nerf (for all play styles) and legacy wide. Anything less and I'm basically paying them to be miserable. BTW, I'm level 20 and I got 2 purple 230 mainhands, 2 purple 230 bracers with set bonus and a purple 230 relic that you have to activate (as if I don't have enough buttons to press in combat. I keybind everything I can and it's getting ridiculous). So that's 5 epic drops but 2 are dupes and one is useless. The RNG is taunting me. So I have filled two of fourteen slots for tier one in 20 levels. At this rate, I *may* have filled 9 slots by the time I'm on to tier 2 and want to kill myself. The fact is the tier 1 stuff is more or less pointless because everything that is balanced for tier 1 gear has bolster and is super easy. I'm going to stick with 228 crafted and be done with it. I'm looking forward to going Preferred and freeing myself from the grind and just doing a few stories every now and then.
  14. I like this list. It's not everything but it's a good start.
  15. So I'm not super rich. I probably have less than 20 mil. I know to spread out 300K to everyone (only those I'm going to activate). I still haven't clicked a link so I can get 7 days again in a few month to rearrange my finances. How do people get by with the cap? I know you can't get any big ticket item and you can't transfer creds in the mail but you can list an item on the GTN and let them take a cut. Also alts. I'm almost at 25 which is my cap as a sub + extra slots. I think I have 23 and I always like to keep a slot open for a brand new character. How many slots will my max be reduced by? I have 2 or three I could delete, maybe more if I'm harsh about it. Any advice would be appreciated. P.S. I took every other unlock save the extra crew skill because I have a lot of overlappers.
  16. Also your force regen is crazy now so you don't need it for that.
  17. [quote=demotivator;9144499 Should we also talk about about the Manaan Research Data (you know, this currency used to buy stuffs on the vendor on Manaan) that no longer drop at all in the flashpoint? Should we also talk about the Recovered Relics (used to buy stuffs from another vendor on the fleet) no longer dropping at all in Korriban and Tython flashpoints?! I don't know about Recovered Relics as I have never seen them drop outside of the quest reward in SoR but I can confirm Manaan Research Data does drop in 5.0. I was running solo FPs to level from 65-70 and did DoM and the box at the end had a purple beam of light and lo and behold... Manaan Research Data. I was astounded because I've never gotten anything but vendor trash from solo FPs. This may be a super rare occurrence but it happened.
  18. No nerf. Slash the cap to half of what it was before and change half or more of the golds in areas like the one that was farmed to silvers. The majority of PvE and solo CXP available came from killing golds playing "normally" and it was already slow. Now it's PVP or go home. I like PVP but not ALL the time.
  19. Is there a picture anywhere? I want to see what I missed out on by not completing the legendary tier. If it really is as foul as you say, I'll feel much better
  20. Just unsubbed. 1cxp for golds is the final straw and I didn't even abuse it (although I'd be lying if I said I hadn't considered it due to the grind). I like PVP but only in small doses. In 4.0 I would have had BiS gear on my all my alts by now and I could have dropped in and out when I felt like it. This week I've been PVP-ing like a maniac only to reach level 10 and I'm done. I can't keep it up. I'll just stay preferred and play the stories and whatever group content the game still lets me do. And if that's too restrictive (even with all the unlocks) I will just uninstall and move on. MEA is out in a few months. I have a lot of unfinished mods for FO4 I'd like to get back to working on. This will probably be my last MMO. I've never spent so much money on one game. I see a nice looking weapon or piece of armour? Can't have it unless I commit to grinding the same cntent day in day out for credit or pay real money (like fifty quid) on hypercrates either to try my luck or resell on the GTN for ONE armour. That's the cost of a completely new game. It's ridiculous really and it needs to stop so I'm thankful for the wake-up call.
  21. This is a joke surely. The majority of the CXP you earn from Heroics is from gold mobs. The 20cxp for the mission is nothing. The chapters pay very little for the time invested and the handful of golds bumped that up. I'm out. All my characters will have to make do with crafted 228s, no-set bonus and be done with it. It will be story mode everything all the time and bolster will just have to do. I can forget about ranked PVP which I wanted to try this season. Unless you are committed to doing group content on your MAIN ONLY all day everyday, you have no chance of moving up the ranks in any sort of reasonable time period. May as well unsub and just play the class stories and chapters every now and then. Can you still go into FPs and WZs as part of a group through the normal entryways? I'm not committing my life to this. The credit cap will be brutal but I'll probably learn to cope. I have all the other unlocks.
  22. Yeah I don't think they changed Theron's face model or textures. When the patch notes said that they were upgrading facial animations, I thought we'd be in for a real treat but all we got were wrinkle maps so they look more expressive but it doesn't really look good on the shiny, plastic, pore-free faces of the player characters. Also they use the same map for both genders. Women have finer wrinkling when they make expressions because they have thinner skin but they use the same map as men and even for guys the wrinkles are too fat. There are 3 or 4 wrinkle lines on the SWTOR faces. Go and look in a mirror and raise your eyebrows in hock and count how many wrinkles there are in your forehead, and you will see what I mean. I wish they would let us do texture mods for this game. I do all sort of appearances mods for other games and I'd really love to get in there and make some realistic faces for the player character.
  23. WZ's were the bonus activity yeterday but the bonus wasn't applied per this post.So you would have got more for doing WZs yesterday but I don't know how much the bonus is. The DvL bonus when your side wins (so light 80% of the time) is a measly 10%. I know I sound stroppy and pessimistic but I doubt they'll apply that bonus retroactively either. So much this. I have ACs that I feel more comfortable playing in group settings and ones I only play for fun because I don't think I'm very good at them but I don't really have a "main". I like to play all my alts because I get bored with the same character all the time.
  24. I played unranked warzones all day yesterday and went from 1-10. I did the daily/weekly and kept going. I must have done around 20 (thanks for not actually applying the bonus Bioware). Now today if I do the same thing, I will not reach 20 because the lower level are so easy to achieve and the fact is I cannot do that every day due to time constraints and because it will drive me mad. Now I quite like PVP (I was really surprised by this as a mostly solo player when I started) and the odd flashpoint but for me group content is always exhausting. You always have to be on form, there is no taking it easy and relaxing because your performance affects other people's enjoyment. You get good matches, bad matches, sometimes people are d***s other times they're cool, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. It's an emotional rollercoaster and after a while I need to unplug. When I do though, I keep thinking "Do another Warzone, get that next GC level". And forget about playing alts or starting a new character. all the time I'm not grinding out CXP, I feel like I'm wasting my gaming time. Yesterday after 12 hours (no work yesterday) of warzone after warzone, I "allowed" myself two hours at the end of the day to start a new character that I will probably delete and go through the starter planet just to unwind. And I know what you're thinking "Just do story content and forget GC if that's what you like doing!". Well I do like it but I also like PVP and want to be competitive with decent gear and maybe try ranked for the rewards but even being one of the most CXP rewarding activities in the game, the CXP grind is too slow. I spent more time yesterday playing than I work on a typical work day and I would say only half of it felt like recreation and the other half felt like work. One of the good things about 4.0 is I could get my 204s and 208s in a couple of weeks guaranteed and then I could just drop in and out when I felt like it. Now if I don't keep up with the more hardcore players, I'll be severely under-geared in no time. BTW that guy who is lv. 30 probably got the first ten levels by spamming the planetary missions button before they disabled it to fix the exploit. Disabling it also means you can't get the planetary bonus for heroics now, so thanks for that too.
  25. OK so I went back and there were some grade 10 mats but they were few and far between and being snapped up really quickly. Farming them was a real nightmare. I guess I'll have to stay up really late one night and try again. It's also really annoying having to mouse over every node on the map to see if it's the grade you want . I wish there were dedicated grade 10 areas.
