  1. You already get a free set of gear that's perfect for starting 60 PvP: the 162 reward set for finishing the SoR prelude. The problem is that people don't know and don't want to know. They think raid gear is appropriate. My favorite: "I'm just here for Conquest."
  2. Please read the thread. Imp side version has fewer than a third of the HP of the Republic version and is not at all comparable.
  3. Yes. Have everyone save his breaker for the choke after he hits 30%. He has a soft enrage then that can kill everyone from 100-0 if you let it full channel.
  4. Power/mainstat augments don't much matter. I use mostly Power. For healer I suggest 7/3 Alacrity/Surge for both sets and a bit of crit (2-3 full pieces or 2 pieces plus a half from belt or bracers). On the PvP set that's all Mystic except for the boots (use Stalker) and implants. If you plan ahead with distribution you don't need to swap bits. (And it's really costly anyway.)
  5. I haven't actually used Series of Snares because it looks so bad. Is it really three seconds overall, or 3 seconds stacking with each tick? Great post, in any case. Compare our list of utilities (only a few necessities and a lot of meh) with something like the Sage list...
  6. Yeah, unfortunately you can't ditch shield; you have to use augments to get the other two up instead. And if you want more Endurance, you can use the comm "B" mods, which cost give you 2 End for 1 Def/Abs+1 Mainstat, while keeping the ops enhancements.
  7. The bubble heal is one of those things that don't look all that strong when you glance at the description. But when you realize that after 8 seconds of barrier, you have 4 stacks of bastion and that will heal you at 8%/sec, you realize... it's crazy effective.
  8. 162 green gear from the Prelude bolsters really close to Exhumed.
  9. This may have been true before the SF/SB buff, but now... that's GG on all trash packs as soon as you get the skill.
  10. So learn to tank or heal. This "I can't rule the world as DPS" sentiment is silly.
  11. To be fair, I also notice when I'm solo and teaming with one that's bad. This almost guarantees a loss because there's probably a 4 on the other side that isn't.
  12. Then instead of getting a million-button mouse, get a 5-button and use the thumb ones for targeting. Also, as a healer, learn to use and love your self- and focus-target modifer keys. Note that the focus targets yourself if you don't actually have a focus target.
  13. In the legendary days of 8v8 ranked, Hypergate matches would stalemate forever because both teams would split and neither could ever cap. Not always, but way too often.
  14. I always wondered that myself, since I was unsubbed when the map debuted. A hangover from CW, I guess?
  15. I wonder what the Matrix Cube bolsters to now.
  16. Actually I'm guessing this is the answer to the "so, do we need to augment PvP gear still?" question. Bolster gives you free MK-10 augmentation for PvE stuff. Looks like this doesn't apply to full-expertise L60 PvP pieces.
  17. Bolster gives you near-full expertise as long as your gear isn't over the target bolster point (which is generally a touch below the current cheap PvP set, currently 168). So wearing 156/162 is actually pretty wise.
  18. The expertise penalty you're taking makes their gear better in the WZ than yours.
  19. I've noticed two things: (1) The ceiling on how good PvE stuff can be before you go below 2018 has gone up. Obviously, I think. (2) The bolster on Ilum no longer reflects the bolster in warzones. This is really bad, since there's now no place to check the effect of various gear bits at leisure.
  20. I've always done that, but implants and relics didn't need trade-in before so I never thought to take them off.
  21. Ah crap, do I actually just have to take the piece off? Derp.
  22. Many of you may not have noticed because you're already geared, but this looks like a ridiculous oversight/major gearnerf going forward: the regular PvP vendor only has Conqueror Field Tech pieces now, not Professional. This means future alts/ungeared characters will never be able to get Obroan Professional. I hope this is a bug that's squashed before week's end.
  23. This is sort of an insane bug. I can't seem to trade any of the Conqueror bits that I've already augslotted (relic, implants, ear) -- is the game somehow only checking for the pre-augmentation version of the piece? This seems to be the case whether or not I leave the actual augment in.
