  1. my problem with how the cartel market is run: my major problem is that most of the items on the cartel market are often times only there for about a week at most. examples include: * dyes * grand ___ packs * holiday / event items * discounts for items this is a problem for me personally, and likely many other people, because we have set dates that we get CC. i get my $20.00 pack of cartel coins on the first of every month as well as my $15.00 monthly subscription fee. then the remaining $5.00 of my $40.00 budget is put into the jar for later. i really don't have the resources to just buy some CC all of a sudden when bioware decides to shove a new CM into the market during the middle of the month. i guess it wouldn't be so bad if they announced something 6 weeks or so in advance so i could prepare. instead they just have a 90% sale with just a 2-day notice. if they press everyone to impulse-buy i think they would lose quite a bit of money from people who aren't ready. really i would like to see some kind of reward system for spending large amounts of money regularly instead of flash discounts only benefiting people who buy at a particular time. a new system: really, just have a bar from 1 to 75 that levels up over time. every 200 cartel coins purchased gives 1 point to the bar. every point gives %1 off everything on the CM. you must buy CC or get your 500 CC for subbing at least once every 10 weeks to keep your points. if you fail to meet the deadline all of your points will be lost. this way it rewards both the quantity and frequency of someone's buying habits without pressuring anyone to buy at the moment when they may or may not be able to. it also rewards people who may be major economic contributors to the game who don't want to pay a regular subscription. you could be buying $120 a month in CC and not be a subscriber and you probably wouldn't be recognized. anyway, that's my idea.
  2. i really don't care about the day/night thing, each stronghold has its own feel to it. the time of day is a major contributor to a stronghold's feel. it actually is not simple, asking to make day / night duplicates means creating an entirely new stronghold.
  3. what i expect for the future: i certainly think that GS will be able to be pumped out this year. however, i doubt they will have time to pump out a second expansion the size of RotHC within that time frame. GSF already took about 6 months to go from sub early access to "fully operational", as palpatine would put it. i would expect the same amount of time with GS regarding the perceived amount of work to be done. really i see GS finished up with a red bow on it by the month of december. how RotHC and GSF effected the game: RotHC involved the creation of a brand new planet as well as everything on it, advanced class abilities, items, gear, and endgame commendation system as well as the major balancing to be done with all of this. as with GSF, it really only involved creating the game engine for the flight simulation, ships and equipment, as well as handing out rewards (i believe they copied the WoT system for requisition). however, there are no major ties between GSF and the rest of the game. there was no economics or PvP / PvE balancing involved because GSF was really "self contained". how i expect GS will effect the rest of the game: i believe that the same thing is true with GS as was GSF. making GS its own "department" and minimizing how much it mingles with the rest of the game will drastically reduce the time and work involved with creating the new expansion in comparison with one that does, like RotHC. except for the economics planned for decorations, GS will not interfere with the rest of the game. for example, when GS is in place it will not influence aspects like combat or AC.
  4. really they should just get rid of it if it isn't used anymore. new players might be confused when they see a pile of archaic data. the holonet section has an entry about legacy, so it has been updated at least once.
  5. i really think that cybernetics should be a design choice like scars or tattoos. i also don't really think a cyborg eye and some stuff on the jaw really makes you a cyborg any more than someone with a hip implant. when people think "cyborg" they would probably imagine something with a bit more machine. like i was saying cyborgs should be able to have circuits running down their arms and legs and maybe a claw for a left hand. maybe they could have a few small tubes and whatnot.
  6. once i looked up wildstar just to see what everyone was talking about, and it looked like a sh%tty kid's cartoon game. i laughed so hard at the thought of that being one of swtor's main competitors.
  7. i really don't give a **** about operations and flashpoints! can't i just have story content without having it be group orientated?! operations and flashpoints are a sad excuse for "story", you play it over and over with multiple characters and you have to do it with other players, who may or may not be fun people. they are also incredibly short when compared with actual class story content. RotHC was a really nice epilogue, but i don't want to do it over again when i pump out a second 55er on the same faction.
  8. the F2P is what turns me towards swtor. i have been subbed for a long time, but i would never play at all if i was forced to. subs suffer no losses due to F2P, only non-subs, so they really shouldn't care. i like that it has a huge story with voices and multiple choices that effect the story. i think that is pretty amazing! i also like that you can buy permanent, account-wide unlocks from the cartel market. i also love that bioware recognizes that you don't have to be a sub to contribute to them, so they threw in the preferred status system!
  9. the cyborg race isn't convincing. it's pretty much just a human with a few things on the face, when it should be full body. you should see circuits going down the body and voice distortion.
  10. i guess bolster in a closed environment would be okay
  11. ADJUSTED SYSTEM | REGARDING STEALTH: sounds fun, but stealth can be an issue when a bounty hunter has to hunt a player throughout multiple planets. there is no way anyone can fight a stealther because everyone would have to get 4 meters close to him/her just to find one guy on a whole planet. then a stealther can also just hide the whole time they are stealthed. i think making time while stealthed not count as active time would be a much simpler answer ADJUSTED SYSTEM | MECHANICS: you must be 55 or higher to play removing the hideout thing would reduce hiding (kind of obvious) and maybe restrict this to one planet like the rakghoul resurgence. i kind of like the idea of a huge hide-and-seek game in swtor, but there needs to be a bit more than hiding. there should be no 'crimes', just give people money for hiding out on a planet, more money for longer times. then people hunt them and the BH gets money for killing them, but no loss the the bounty holder. being stealthed while not in combat means that they do not receive their credit-over-time (CoT), this way a stealther can cloak before a fight but won't just camp or traverse while invisible. ADJUSTED SYSTEM | REDARDING FLAGGING: players who are on tantooine, the planet of this new system (no longer an event) can flag themselves as either a criminal or a bounty hunter and do the roles of each. a player can only switch by going to the spaceport no one can switch sides once they spot someone. outposts and medical tents are no-fight zones. a player has a 1 minute limit to run as far as they can. they will be invisible for the 1 minute so no one can follow them. players are unable to flag themselves as BH or criminals while on the planet if they are in a group and cannot form one, this should be entirely solo. criminals cannot operate within 50 meters of each other to prevent huddling. a criminal can flag themselves as 'hiding' and any non-criminal cannot see their nameplate, while other criminals must be within 55 meters so they can't go to the spaceport, switch, and kill once they find someone. while they are flagged as hiding any criminal that walks within another's 50 meter space for more than 7 seconds will be unflagged. BH cannot attack a criminal another is fighting, and vice versa to keep it solo. ADJUSTED SYSTEM | REGARDING STORY CANON: you're right that it doesn't require story, i think huttball certainly doesn't count as a 'warzone' and definitely isn't something a jedi or trooper would be doing. a smuggler might do it for the money but a smuggler is just a civilian with some neat tricks. a spy would be out in the field undercover or infiltrating a base and would not be playing a huttese bloodsport for a slimy slug's viewing pleasure. sith definitely if they weren't busy doing their usual supervillian shenanigans. a bounty hunter would be the only class to really play huttball, but obviously would not be receiving commendations from the imperial military for doing so. i think having bounty boards and going out for fun is no problem at all. this is an MMO, not a movie or book and it will never be perfect. really liked your idea of an enclosed instance or phase, nice work!
  12. it would be fun once you reach level 16 if you could commit crimes like stealing from NPC shop vendors or pickpocketing random citizens and get stuff from them. here is my idea for an 8-week event: THE ROPES OF BOUNTY HUNTING: a player can gain a free 1-week hunting license from the BBA to hunt other players. once they do so they cannot commit any crimes. a double credit bonus is given to anyone who is part of the minority so the criminal/BH ratio evens out. a player cannot switch sides until their license expires. anyone can see which side receives the bonus by looking at a BBA terminal before choosing the path of the hunter. the BH can hunt anyone with a price on their heads if they are 5 levels above or below their level if you and are outside of a safe area like the fleet or an outpost. whatever amount of money the criminal gains from a crime is the amount you take from them after a kill, which is considered the bounty. bounty hunters and criminals cannot be in the same group together THE ROPES OF THE CRIMINAL: credits gained from committing crimes goes into a 'hazard escrow'. any credits in your hazard escrow may be taken by a bounty hunter until you have spent 12 hours online in a location that allows bounty hunting since the crime was committed. a licensed bounty hunter cannot commit crimes but a criminal may commit as many crimes as possible until he or she is caught. once they kill you your record and hazard escrow is cleaned out and you may not commit a crime for another 7 days. credits are transferred out of your hazard escrow after 12 hours have passed for each individual crime. for instance, if you got 20K , then 50K, then 30K each from an individual crime, you would get the credits from the 20K crime first, then the rest accordingly. any physical items gained from a large offense (felony) are not at risk. REGARDING CRIMES: crimes can only be committed on NPCs and offer large credit rewards. an NPC will attack a player that commits a crime against them, some crimes require a full group of criminals of a certain level but offer greater rewards. severe group orientated crimes, ironically labeled heroic missions, like bank robbing have a chance to give a random artifact implant/offhand/mod/earpiece and extreme credit rewards, but they keep you from using stealth in an area that permits bounty hunting for 9 hours since the crime was committed. bounty hunters can only hunt criminals of the same faction, once the event ends all criminals are pardoned by the dark council and galactic senate for bazaar, unknown reasons. certain planets have more crimes available to commit, but bounty hunters are more likely to find you there because of a large player underworld population and a lot of bounty hunters. criminals with too much to lose can hide out in backwater planets like tantooine or hoth together in hideouts, but there are few crimes to be done there due to the low population. there are many hideouts in each backwater planet to give criminals freedom, each can be given more defenses the longer it has been held. a swarm if bounty hunters may charge a hideout REGARDING STEALTH: using stealth in bounty hunting grounds if you are wanted means you will lose 2% of the credits in your hazard escrow every 15 seconds until you are bled dry. deactivating stealth before 15 seconds have passed will cause you to lose an additional 10% to keep people from stealthing and unstealthing to avoid the 2% loss. it is ideal for only small time criminals to stealth as people with more money in their hazard escrow are at a bigger risk. only stealth in an emergency like when a group of hunters are following you. badder criminals get better resistance to the sniper's or gunslinger's stealth detection bonus when in cover. each 50K in their hazard escrow means a stack the stealth detection does not count. for example, a criminal with 150K in their escrow means that the sniper's 'spotter' really only stacks to 27 times as far as the criminal is concerned.
  13. or the person just likes laughing every time they log in and see that character. it doesn't have to be for attention, it could be for their own viewing pleasure. everyone always says someone with a fancy chrome truck or a sports car has a small wang or wants to show off, but it could just be that they like fancy chrome trucks or sports cars.
  14. that is a baaaaad name that hurts other people, i don't think that should be allowed. even with immature vulgar stuff there is a limit, but if a name doesn't make a person want to die like that then why not? i am imagining something like "SUCKSVAGINALFLUID" or something along those lines. sure, it is quite unpleasant to see but it doesn't make someone with HIV or cancer feel horrible.
  15. what are you talking about what 'crap' women put up with? that is kind of a broad word. people put up with a certain level of crap based on their individual situation and is not limited to any particular group. not all women suffer sexism, and btw immature guys joking about body parts is not sexism if that happens to be what you might think. if you are referring to a bodily thing then that is their own little 'happening' that they go through with. why can't guys joke about that misfortune among themselves, it's their own conversation.
  16. yup, we just have to hope people would do the right thing and be polite. this is a two-way street, and we all have to be responsible when someone isn't polite just as much as they have a responsibility to be courteous. we can't just flip out and rant about things if we get upset. freedom of speech is a right, so it belongs everywhere. of course this is the dev's game and they can certainly control what is allowed, but i can definitely complain about it.
  17. having a vulgar name referring to a female body part is not harassment because it is not maliciously targeting women, it is just mentioning a part that they happen to have. i don't think it would have any effect on how many women players there are, talking about ***** all the time certainly wouldn't effect guys. really people should grow a thicker skin and ignore people who try to get attention. if it was someone degrading women on the chat that is a totally different story, but mentioning a "characteristic" is not harassment.
  18. most names are used because the user finds it funny or they want attention from others. nothing is wrong with just messin' with people, the word 'harassment' should really be reserved for people whispering horrible comments to someone.
  19. i'm not talking about people bombarding others with hurtful words, i'm talking about having character names like "p*n*s sucker 69" or something like that. if someone gets all touchy about that it isn't anyone's problem, they can just ignore it. there are also some really inappropriate fleet chats that i think are ok, so long as they aren't directed at any group. if people want to talk about gross sexual things that is there right. i think censorship is wrong because it blocks out freedom of speech.
  20. yeah, i think actively harassing someone and making a vulgar name you find hilarious are two very different things.
  21. can't we just let people have offensive names? as long as they aren't harassing people no one should care.
  22. http://www.swtor.com/holonet/classes/bounty-hunter/mercenary mentions the Pyrotech tree as "firebug" and has been that way since i first came here. does anyone update the holonet AC stats or is that the same as it was since launch?
  23. i like the idea of putting beasts in cages, it would help give the hutt palace look. when i get my nar shaddaa house with the 5 rooms unlocked i'm going to make it look like an imperial base disguised as a hutt palace. ill put huttese rugs and imperial computers and whatnot. i would have liked to see those anti-aircraft turrets in the first Galactic Living Video on Twitch. not interested in all of that hologram junk you spouted, but hologram models of speeders or animals could allow us to give it a museum look. i also like your idea of having off limit rooms, i'd like to make a VIP section for special friends or guildies. i can put all of the pretty stuff over there.
  24. with the dye it was your own fault, even if it was an accident, but i agree with you with the other things. i think CS just wants to minimize people trying to get free stuff and anyone who they aren't 100% sure about is too big of a risk for them. i am sure the actual people in CS might believe you but their employers might get upset if there was any chance you might have been trying to weasel out another hypercrate from them. you might have been account jacked if they said you opened your hypercrate when you were gone, or it was a "friend" who also plays the game and stole your stuff. you should change your password.
