  1. I can already imagine this as an epic shot in a movie or something, especially in slow motion. The fire whirling epicly around you two, your enemy in extreme pain as the life is getting both burned and squeezed out of him/her as we can see in some close-ups on their face, then yours, then theirs again, etc. edit: Maybe with ME3's "An end once and for all" music underneath it. (The ending movie song, only satisfying thing about the end! >.<)
  2. Not sure if it's been mentioned already, but I did saw a "Larry McSwagger" once. Gave me quite the lols.
  3. Using my Shadow's Force Wave to push away three enemies into a firepitt from my ball-carrier in Huttball, killing them all in the process. I must admit that felt quite good. xD
  4. Seeing as you seemed to like PvP a lot and want to win a lot while moving around in fast-paced melee, I'd say stick to your Sentinel. Guardian just has a somewhat harder time if you try to fill a similar role as a Sentinel (namely DPS) in both the damage skilltrees, especially if you compare how much more ways a sentinel has to stay alive in that role. When you're playing a Tank in PvP you'll have a hard time taking down anyone 1-on-1 unless you really know what you're doing (and have some good gear). But this is just my two cents on the subject.
  5. I absolutely love Huttball, so no it shouldn't be removed if you ask me. That being said, I usually PuG Huttball. From what I can tell the key to making a PuG work in Huttball is good and positive communication. Politely point out before the match starts that getting lured into a fight-out is generally bad, unless you can distract like 2+ people. Also pointing out how positioning (of both yourself and the opponent) and passing is important. Last of all, I always ask if people have the "Pass Huttball" ability quick-slotted and have maximum camera distance enabled, no matter how long I've been playing. In the end it's just that this game is maybe even more dependent on teamwork then the other WZs. And ask yourself this; would you rather play with a positive or a grumpy person? Would you rather play with someone who communicates or someone who stays silent ? Regardless of the obvious answers, you cannot expect people to be like that without you yourself being like that, so being positive and communicating is a must. This way you'll lead or direct by example. Of course you can't always be cheerful, positive or willing to communicate all the time, we all have our lesser moments. Usually this is a good time to take a time-out from PvP though, and start doing something else (not necessarily SWTOR even. )
  6. Forgive me for being a bit confused after reading this, but basically you would like to quickly be able to put Guard on the teammate that your currently selected enemy is currently hitting, right? If this is the case, then using the 'Aquire target's target" in preferences should work.

    Stun Locking

Guys relax. Let's all get along or I will be forced to use this
  8. If a dev could provide exact numbers and the reason(s) why Defense Guardian is getting nerfed in damage while it already was the lowest among tank classes I would be very happy, and perhaps a but more understanding towards the changes.
  9. No, I think with 'class mission items' they are referring to items one needs for quests rather then regular drops.
  10. Lol, that made me think of when I heard someone say about knowing the difference between "your ****" and "you're ****". Edit: seems there is a censoring active here on the forums. The **** stands for something nasty we all drop in the bowl of our toilet. With apologies for using a censored word in a funny context. xD
  11. You indeed don't have to romance them to unlock the bonus.
  12. I believe I saw a "Larry McSwagger" once on the fleet. Lol'd there.
  13. I personally wouldn't re-roll servers with 1.3 and server transfers incoming somewhere in the rather near feature (my gut tells me in a few weeks max). Let's just wait and see how BW will be allowing said transfers. ^^
  14. Daily single player quests often give about 6-7k legacy exp per quest on lv 50. So doing all of them every day (Belsavis, Corellia and Ilum) works well and leveling alts also seems to help a lot. But since I've been doing that non-stop playing from launch, and seeing friends who are not so alt'oholic having legacy lv's way higher then me (because they focus on one char with daily quests) makes me believe the daily quests at 50 are a better way to get legacy exp. To give an indication, I'm legacy lv 30 atm. The friends I'm talking about lv 40'ish.
  15. I don't remember where or when I read this anymore, but I believe I read the average age of the SWTOR player is something like 28 or 32 years old! xD Also, not sure if it's been said before as I didn't feel like reading through 11 pages of replies, but I think the type of server one plays on determines a lot as well. For example, I play on Trask Ulgo which is a European RP server. Generally the 'leet speak' is less present in all chats on there. I was happily surprised I had to spend less time decrypting chat on SWTOR then I had in my last MMO Aion! xD The *ahum* problem I have when typing, is that I am terribly lazy. I can't really type blindfolded, which means I am looking at my keyboard half the time, and I also don't check if I've made any typo's before hitting the enter key. Combine this with an inborn ability to effortlessly (but mostly sub-consciously) fuse two possible ways of saying something into one sentence and needless to say, I've had my fair share of funny typo's. A good example was when I introduced myself to my gf's family for the first time as "Hi, I am her girlfriend! ... *facepalms* dammit... >.<". You can imagine what a good first impression I made that day. Luckily for me her parents like to crack jokes so they could laugh about it a lot back then. Sadly they will probably laugh about it for the rest of my life though. The sentences I "fused" btw were "Hi, I am her boyfriend" and "Hi, she's my girlfriend". p.s. In case you (the OP) are interested, I am from the Netherlands. p.p.s And no, I don't mind leet speak or lack of proper grammar and punctuation. Often I can have some laughs together with the people involved about it. Although...It may become a tad annoying when they use excessive amounts of abbreviation while in high-pressure situations like a warzone and I have to spend a lot of time figuring out what the heck someone said.
  16. First of all, get some recruit gear from the vendors on the fleet. While people in full augmented WH will still steamroll you one-on-one, you'll be able to contribute to your team. Getting full recruit gear on your char costs about 320k to 330k credits I believe. After that it is indeed, as previously mentioned in this thread, a case of communication. In warzones teamwork > gear in general. When I am playing PuGs (which I usually do), I always make sure I mention the importance of calling out incomings and to resist getting into a fight-out in the middle of nowhere, but I try to do so in a very light and friendly way. Use a well placed smiley here, make a light joke there and you'll see people are more likely to talk back and start communicating. Hell, they'll probably start enjoying warzones better and may want to team up with you after that. In the end, one of the important things is that you have fun in WZs. I can have fun even while loosing if I notice people start to open up and have fun as well. You'll see your overall capabilities improve a lot if you communicate well with others in a positive way. You can even win while being out-gunned if team play and general mood in a team is high, I know I have more times then I can count. You'll also notice you can have fun even in loosing if you managed to even the odds solely by good and fun communication. Of course you can't always be super cheerful. So if you start to notice that you become frustrated for whatever reason, take a time-out. Also, don't let other people's frustration get to you and just keep on playing as you would by ignoring them if they don't snap out of it. This is the sole reason you take a time-out as well if you notice yourself becoming cranky, because your crankiness will have a negative impact on your team play. It's pointless to argue in the middle of a WZ and the best thing you can just do is, as mentioned before as well, lead by example. You don't have to be the best player around (although I admit it does help ) to do this, just make sure communication stays up properly. After all, people are more likely to cooperate with someone friendly. Anyways, I hope this helps a bit. TL;DR Teamwork > Gear/Individual Skill. The best tool for being victorious is teamwork and feeling and being positive helps improve this a lot.
  17. Guiran I've been using that for a lot of years now for fictional characters and luckily I've yet to see anyone else use it. I was really surprised when I found out this game allowed surnames, something I hadn't come across in other games I played. I just really like the sound of the name without needing an over the top kind of spelling, no offense meant btw. It's short, simple, yet unique and strong (although I admit I might be a bit biased there ). Also, for some reason it seems to fit very well in SW lore.

    Love SWTOR PvP!

Jup, enjoying it very much here as well. Never was much of a PvP'er in other MMO's but this one's got me hooked.
  19. For me? Grand Moff Kilran, hands down.
  20. Sadly, you won't be able to buy BM gear until your character has a character lv (not valor lv) of 50. I was trying to buy it for my shadow earlier as well, but sadly couldn't back then because of this. xD
  21. I am having room left on my bars on my Powertech. On my Guardian I use more slots and on my Shadow it's the worst. xD
  22. Having some experience with tanking on all tank classes I'll try to answer/explain a bit concerning your second question. First of all you have to remember that 1 point of damage is considered 1 point of agro on a target. This will be multiplied by your tanking stance so that 1 point of damage will be 1,5 points of agro. Healing will give 0,5 points of agro per healed point, but this is spread across all mobs you're currently engaged in combat with. Secondly, you have to know when agro switches. When someone else is doing a lot of damage within melee range of the target that you're trying to keep agro of, then they need to get 10% more agro-points then you to pull agro from you. When the damager is not within melee range, then they need to have 30% more agro-points then you to pull agro. Now something from personal experience, is that I feel that the description of the single target taunts aren't correct. I think the single target taunts actually permanently increase your agro-points to be 10% more in case of you being in melee range of the mob you're taunting and 30% when you're out of melee range. Basically if you put in your taunt in your rotation while already having the agro of the target, then it will increase the agro-point you have by 10%. You could increase this more if you somehow move out of melee range (for example with the lv 50 Guardian Leap or Intercede ability) and taunt to increase this to 30%. What does happen though with the single target taunt, is that you'll be set on top of the agro-list of the mob, no matter what, but depending on your range to the target this is either +10% or +30% on top of that. The multi-target taunt is entirely different as in that it only sets you on top of the list temporary for it's duration. In that time you'll have to get your agro on the mobs up manually if you wish to continue holding it. All of this was originally tested by an outside forum, of which I sadly don't have the link anymore. I decided to keep a close eye on it and indeed it seemed to work like what I explained above. I'll try looking up the forum which tested agro so well and will add it to this post if I find it. If someone else knows what forum I am talking about, please don't hesitate to provide the link if I haven't. Anyways, I hope that helps you understand a bit how taunting and agro works.
  23. It is a Juggernaut/Guardian only skill. It wasn't like that in beta, but that is a long time ago.
  24. Quite an interesting read to see everyone's take on expertise and pvp gear in general. I know it's a bit off-topic, but what may be nice is if say the Combat Medic set Has a bit more specific boost to healing via expertise but has a bit less damage to make up for it. I'll give an example for say expertise 1100 on said Medic Set. Now I am not sure about the exact numbers expertise gives, but I am sure it's rather close and that you'll get the idea. As an alternative, maybe these bonuses can come as set-bonuses. offensive bonus: + 18% (down from 20%) defensive bonus: + 16% (same) healing bonus: + 15% (up from 12%)
  25. Hehe, this reminds me of someone called 'Inass' for her legacy name. Nothing wrong with that as I initially pronouned it like "Ee-nas". The thing that made me report her was her first name "Fist" and me suddenly seeing the connection. I felt so silly for not seeing that sooner. xD
