  1. Yeah, agreed. These planets are alive again with actual players instead of just credit farmers and people are grouping up, which I've only really seen lately with that one Heroic on DK. I've also been motivated to actually grind for CXP because it hasn't felt like a grind when I can see the bar move more than a tiny fraction.

And I could be wrong, but if dailies are allowed to continue to be just as profitable a means of earning CXP as say, afk'ing through a WZ - I have never done that because I consider it rude but there are certainly enough videos of it on YouTube - then possibly that type of behaviour would be less of an issue going forward, which would be a blessing for all concerned.

  2. Hey all,

When I found out about the substantially increased CXP in the daily areas I had to go check if it was real. So, I tested it on my main characters, and validated it across a variety of other characters, and sure enough, it was true. I even used the CXP Perk, and the CXP 100% boost, just to see how much I could get on each quest.

Then, realizing we needed to stay indoors for the weekend, I decided to see how many Command Ranks I could gain on just one toon, by doing all the Daily Areas each day, along with daily FPs, and other normal activities. I managed to gain 200 levels and to echo a lot of your comments here, it was fun to see so many others on Yavin, in Black Hole, over on Iokath and Section X. I also did Oricon and had forgotten how fun those quests were to do, too.

There's a legitimate reason to lower the CXP values as they are out of whack with the rest of the game, but there's an even more compelling reason to not lower it all the way back to 75 and to review the values across the board. I like a lot of your suggestions about rotating it, finding a good compromised amount, giving you a reason to visit these areas, and substantially reducing the time it takes to level up your alts (catch-up mechanic).

So, thanks for all the ideas. We'll decide what to do next week, but in the meantime, take advantage of this massive CXP change. I'm confident that'll help guide us in our discussions and decision about what to do next.

    ---Keith

I came here specifically to beg y'all not to obliterate the CXP rewards for these dailies when you fix the bug because as others have said, not only has the GC grind felt rewarding for once, it has been cool to see people on these planets again. Real players instead of credit farmers on Yavin! Enough people on Iokath to maaaaaaybe finally get to do the Colossus Droid!

But now I don't have to beg :D

Thank you, Keith, for listening to us and for letting us know that you are. It really means a lot.

  3. The Furious Legacy gear was a Ranked PvP reward, exclusive to that season. As much as I'd like them to return (so I could get them...and those weapons' F*CKING AWESOME proto-Tuning!), I don't want them to bring them back, purely to avoid the precedent.

If we could get the Dark Reaver/Revanite sets back through some other means, though, I'd be all over it. There were some pretty sweet and unique pieces in there.

Yeah, I'm not a PvP'er but I wouldn't want to see ranked PvP rewards obtainable another way, either.

I would love to see the Dark Reaver sets as shells though, either in the GC crates or direct purchase in the CM or added to some rep vendors.

  4. The average dev is a dudebro kind of guy, so slave girl outfits are in the game and pretty easy to acquire too, but tatooine robes aren't.

If they wanted to it would be easy for people not to see the slave girl outfit, they could do the same thing they did with the old outfits that change with faction, but they don't.

The BW of SWTOR has nothing to do with the BW of ME sadly.

Yeah, that would be nice. Shae and Lana in the dancer outfits...all of my 'god why.'

Not exactly. It's more a question of everyone seeming to think that "female-only" and "slave girl" are synonyms, and they aren't. I actually think the Elegant set is a bit overfrilly myself, but I can see its application in RP.

Well, and there was the span of time (before 3.0) when my commandogirl went around with Elara with both of them wearing that set. It was a little ... surreal.

In truth I simply forgot that the frilly outfit with the ridiculous hat was female only, as I've only ever reached the Social rank necessary to acquire it on my very first toon years and years ago.

Oh you are despicable... Braze yourself for the hate responses of many for that comment lol

Ah, if only I cared! But alas, I do not.

  5. Personally I would put her into her old Green/Black SOR outfit. I really loved old Lana more.

Tomorrow that's what mine will be wearing. I hate her new outfit and her new hair

I wish they would make an actual customisation for her so we could have SoR Lana if we wanted. I also wish they'd somehow managed to code her so that she can't wear the Female Only clothing pieces...

  6. We got back Quinn, not Malavai Quinn. Even SWs who romanced him.

I really see no reason why his name was taken away.

Everyone who hates him gets to kill him so they're not going to care.

I'm just hoping it's an oversight that can be corrected.

Yeah, this is one of those little details that bugs me. Hopefully it is an easy fix and one they actually get around to, sooner rather than later.

  7. Bringing this back since I'm not really fan of necro'ing ancient threads.

Just as the title says, when I ignore a player I should not be subjected to their emote spam. They've done this in GW2 though it did take a while, so I know it's possible.

  8. Yeah, like others have said, I like the VIP area being somewhat exclusive. No crowds, no hyper children hopping up and down on their mounts or spamming emotes/attacks/etc when I just want to check the GTN without zoning to a SH.

I wish they'd add a Legacy Cargo Hold and an Appearance Designer Kiosk up there, as well as more convenience vendors.

  9. When I say forcing, I don't mean players should be pulled in from other parts of the game. Do consider the discussion I had with Caisarabbit earlier in this thread, where I suggested that players with the purple story mission get PvP-immunity, the Operation be given a separate entrance point from Odessen or the Gravestone, and the Iokath Dailies be marked as red missions like the Gree Event dailies. With all of that done, Iokath could be converted into a place like Outlaw's Den where Ops group sized PvP is allowed. This wouldn't be forcing players to PvP, as they came on the planet by choice to progress an explicitly red mission, and the ones who came for other missions would be given backups like I said earlier.

The only people who get the short end of the stick here would be crafters.... I've heard Iokath is the only place giving the highest tier mats right now. That'd need a change.

No, making ALL the dailies red would also ruin Iokath for anyone who avoids PvP because they don't like it, aren't geared for, don't want to be hassled when they just want to grind some mobs for rep, or what have you.

If the above "forcing" isn't an option you'd like to consider, there are other ways. The ADDITION of objectives that directly relate to PvP could be the first. Not just "kill a player to get loot, that you can only use to kill more players". Give dead players a chance of dropping UCs, Command Crates and Warzone Crafting Lockboxes. Add certain missions that can only be progressed in the PvP instance. Maybe this option works better the previous one? Let PvErs progress all currentl existing dailies on the PvE instance, and let crafters craft, and story-goers do their story. ADD red missions that are only progressed in the PvP instance. In my opinion red missions worked out really well in the Gree Event dailies. Just having two of those missions makes the planet so much more active in OWPvP, the only downside is that it forces small groups on you. Simply adding red missions to the existing Iokath lineup will encourage OWPvP, while still allowing players to stay as far away from PvP as possible if they'd so like it.

Finally, consider moving the regions and the NPC density a bit. The way it is right now, Imps and Pubs are in separate Imp controlled and Pub controlled regions, even when they're inside the "Contested" area. The west half of the map has really dense concentrations of base-defender level Pub NPCs, and the east half has a really dense concentration of Imp defenders. Lowering the density, as well as forcing players to cross paths more will increase the chances of individual players meeting each other while also not getting by mobs that require a group takedown. Increased chance of meeting + increased chance of not-insta-kill -> increased chance of killing -> increased chance of loot drops -> more players come back to the PvP instance for loot drops.

I really do hope the dev team implements some of what I said, or implements SOMETHING that does a good job encouraging OWPvP. I love OWPvP a lot more than I like doing Warzones and Arenas, and I would really like it to make a comeback.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I am aware that PvP already has rewards on Iokath. However:

    1. It comes through killing for the sake of killing. Objective based PvP such as base conquest and turret control and superweapon access and whatnot will make the killing be a struggle towards a proper, real objective, instead of just killing for the sake of it.

    2. It only rewards Iokath currency. Players want UCs, Command XP and crates, cosmetic gear, credits, and so much more.

But this strikes me as a great alternative. I don't want to be forced to choose between dealing with PvP or never setting foot on Iokath again, but I wholeheartedly support the folks who enjoy PvP being given greater incentives and more things to do, so I hope the devs listen to this part of your suggestions.

  10. Chiming in with the others who have asked for Lord Scourge, Arcann, or even Darth Ravage. Or hey, someone like them if it's too complicated to make them romanceable at this point in the game. Powerful, controlled and maybe even a bit snarky (Ravage) with a velvety voice.
  11. No I meant Mako, they break up no matter what because she doesn't quite get his lifestyle or something. Can't even remember where I read that.

They didn't break up in mine. In fact

when my Merc met him again on Darvannis, Torian said he and Mako had been together as a couple up until Mandalore summoned all the Mandos to fight

So possibly there are two possibilities based on which conversation choices you take but don't quote me on that :p

  12. I've yet to make a fully DS character because some of the DS choices are ridiculous imo and I don't have a character that's Stupid Evil, but that said I had a blast with DS Jedi Knight.

Is it cheesy? Yes, but no more so than the LS Jedi Knight imo.

DS Trooper I've enjoyed as well, much to Jorgan's chagrin.

  13. Heh, same. But I expect once we actually get an FTB from Bioware, hoping part 2 of Iokath's story, that the female Sith War will be quite sore. lol It has been 6 years, almost 7, from HIS perspective.

I've always seen Quinn as slightly submissive/a good officer in public, but once behind closed doors, wooooooooooo, he's about as aggressive as they come. ;)

But that's my head canon. :p

    Apparently we have the same head canon <_<;

I just got him on my new SW and have indeed been recording all the interactions like a nerd. I wonder if his VA has any idea how much we love him?

  14. Eh, I did not expect Quinn to inspect my mara's tonsils in the middle of that particular scene and at least for me there's something awfully appealing about his level of self control. Six years without seeing his wife and he can put up a hand so calmly like "Darling not now. We have people to kill." And they fall right back into the old paradigm of him strategising while she butchers Republic soldiers like there hasn't been those six intervening years and she was finally home. All was right in the world then.

And the changes to facial animation made the "romance" scene so much better. His VA was killing it and then that smirk at the end before he walked away was just ugh. So good. Be in his quarters yeah I think we all know what that means, Quinn.

Honestly to me the worst part was the fact that Lana's supposedly been looking for him all this time but when he's right in front of her, she can't put two and two together. I was also slightly annoyed that my mara couldn't snark at her about it tbh. Also annoyed that Acina didn't say a word about the fact that she'd pardoned him and made her an advisor, either. Like what is it with these two, keeping my mara from her man?
