  1. yeah i read it again, specifies from players.
  2. Just quick question...is it supposed to function with your companions? I never really paid any attention to it before but now I notice that when I put it on my companion or another players companion, it doesn't actually absorb any damage. Is it not supposed to work with companions at all? I've tried it with both juggernaut and vanguard tanks so far and while guard will apply to a companion, it just doesn't absorb any damage they take.
  3. So I saw in patch notes for 1.2 they're finally removing the cooldown on giving companion gifts, which is great. My suggestion is that it would also be nice if they added the ability to drag and drop companion gifts onto your companion in the character page and give gifts that way. This is mainly so that I'm able to give gifts to my companions aboard my ship, which to my knowledge is currently not possible. Drag and drop seems to be a simple way but any feature that would allow this would be nice.
  4. just finished reading the pvp posting, didn't see this mentioned. I know they say they've improved the matchmaking but I want to know with the rated system, will we no longer get tossed into imbalanced matches? Like right now, it's very common that you'll get put in a match where you start off 8 v 4 or 8 v 5 and it's over quite quickly, usually with the under manned team losing obviously. Will that no longer happen? Another thing along those same lines but worse in my view, it will start 8 v 4 or whatever and after the team with 8 is already winning to the point where coming back is pretty much impossible, then the warzone fills, so now you have to sit through a sure fire loss for 10 min (in places like alderaan). Are these issues not going to occur in 1.2 WZ's? It's annoying now but if it happens and kills your rating, well that's just pathetic and infuriating.

    Resolve...

Is there any official word that this isn't working as it should? I'm just curious b/c this is one of the most infuriating things in PvP for me. I've heard several different opinions as to how resolve and CC breaks are supposed to work and it's plainly clear to me that none of the scenarios I've heard actually function. From what I understand, if your resolve bar is full and you pop your CC break, you're supposed to be immune to CC until the bar runs out. Well, that does actually work but it also doesn't work just as much. I can't even track the number of times I've had multiple people on my, so resolve just shot to full, I pop my break then get immediately CC'd 2 or 3 more times, it's ridiculous. When I say CC I'm not even talking about the roots which I know are not effected by resolve (which is also stupid) but actual CC's like grips and cryo nades, etc. I just want to know if they even acknowledge this is an issue and something they want to fix at some point or is this system working as intended in their view. I used to get pissed at the CC in WoW but in this game it is just silly and the mechanic that's supposed to help mitigate it doesn't even work right.
  6. I'd hardly say that'st he norm, with leveling my professions, doing all the trains and everything, I usually have about 300k when I hit 50. I have 2 50's and 3 more a few levels from 50 and they're all going to be in that same general area. That's just playing normal, doing all the quest and bonus missions, along with a good bit of PvP, etc. So, if you have 1mil when u hit 50 after all the training and buying crew skills patters from trainer, then you would be one of the few. Just the stuff at 400 crafting costs like 300k on it's own.i
  7. So far I have maxed 2 professions and am close with 2 more and I have come to the conclusion that the way they handle missions really needs to be re-worked, harvesting could also use a little work but missions especially. I have a few problems with the way missions are currently. I'll use my actual game-play experience; I play a lot of toons, currently I have 8, 2 50's, a 48, 2 42's and c couple in their late teens/early 20's. I also plan to max all the crafting professions eventually, so far I've maxed two. I do this b/c I like to be self sufficient as I don't like paying the silly prices people inevitably charge for things in MMO's. So, since I do have so many professions, I generally will craft items on my higher level toons that I can use when leveling my lower level ones. I prefer to use the "blue" quality items, so I always craft and the reverse engineer (RE) to get to that. Given how silly the RE system is (which is another gripe I have but won't go there) it can some times take quite a bit of materials to get the pattern you want. So then you're left to run missions to re-stock and continue, which would be fine except that the missions are random. When you get to professions like artifice where you can have 2 or 3 different kings of crystals of the same grade, it gets very hard to first, draw a mission for power crystals, as there are 2 or 3 other mission types you can get, then if you do get a power crystal mission, you have to hope you get the type of crystal you needed for your craft. Add to that if after all that hoping, the mission you got was only a "moderate" mission, you still might only end up with 2 or 3 crystals after a 15 min mission (for grade 5) for a craft that takes 6 crystals and you're trying to get RE schems so you will certainly need to make more than one. My basic complaint here is that the system is just too much randomness, everything is random. Random missions, random rewards, it makes it way more of a pain than it needs to be. This leads me to my next problem...one of the things I did love about WoW was that if you just got too lazy or too busy to do it yourself, you could always find the mats you needed on the auction house. Sometimes you might have to pay a premium but often the cost out-weighed the chore of doing it yourself. In SWTOR however, this is not the case, it is very rare that you will find the mats you're looking for in any significant quantity on the GTN. I attribute this again to the way the missions system functions. The missions themselves are money sinks, I wouldn't have too much issue with that except for two things. The first is b/c what I mentioned above, if I'm paying for this, I would like to be able to have the ability to take the specific missions I want to get the specific material rewards I'm looking for within reason. My second problem is that this method they currently use makes it very hard to determine the value of any materials you sell on the GTN. Since missions cost money, you're investing your own funds into getting said materials, no one is going to track how many missions they did to obtain 'X' amount of any given item and try to calculate their own investment. The way it is now, if you're a person that doesn't like to gouge but does want to make it a profit, it's very hard to know what to sell for, you could very well be selling at a loss since you have no clue how much you invested in mission costs to get the materials you're selling. I could go on with this but hopefully my gist is getting across, this is already longer than most people will read. Anyway, that's just my personal experiences with the current implementation of the missions system as it pertains to acquiring mats for use and sale. I think in its current form it henders both and could use some work.
  8. Jesus, do the art designers just hate Knights or something? Another set of hideous PvP knight armor, thank god they're making it so u can remove the mods now b/c I really do not want to wear that crap. I was hoping after the ridiculous current Knight gear our next tier would be decent, I see I was mistaken to think that.
  9. There's usually a link to it up at the top of the main forums page so I've never actually had to find it. I saw earlier this week there was a thread asking for people to submit questions...or so I thought I didn't actually read the thread just the title. So anyway, was there a Q&A today? Where can I find it.
  10. There was a time I was really looking forward to D3, they've delayed this crap so long now I don't even really care. Actually hoping Guild Wars 2 will be out, I'd much prefer that now.
  11. Sorry but this isn't really accurate, in 1v1 a skilled ranged is generally going to wreck a skilled melee. Probably the biggest exception to that is going to be Sentinels/Marauders simply b/c guarded by the force gives them a pretty nice edge, also the short stealth. If GBTF is on CD though, gonna be pretty screwed a lot of the time. As mentioned it's mostly all the CC and stuns, you simply can't survive through that if the person has any level of skill, with 1 CC break and resolve seemingly never working properly you're basically out of the fight before you can do anything. I'm just leveling a gunslinger right now, he's level 21 atm, even at 18 I was easily killing 40+ melee in 1v1 situations. If they actually got on me they could drop me pretty fast but it's fairly easy to keep them off, which is kind of the problem. The trooper/BH thing is honestly just stupid, 1 button, almost guaranteed 3k hits every time. I don't see this changing either simply b/c that entire tree is basically designed around the procs from grav round/tracer missile so they'd basically have to redesign that entire spec to change it. Not trying to suggest melee are helpless but if you play a ranged and a melee as I do (I play all classes) it is quite apparent very early on that there is a pretty significant difference in the dps you do and the ease at which you do it. On my Knight, who is 50, I have to actually work to get up beyond 300k damage done, on my trooper, who is 42 atm, that's a pretty trivial task, even my smuggler easily cracks 200k, at 21. Now I don't actually play to get damage, but I'm saying while playing in the same fashion I get much more damage a lot easier as ranged.
  12. 1. UI still will randomly go unresponsive on you 2. In PvP, if killed when capping an objective, there is a delay on being able to release 3. On Alderaan PvP map, there's a global cooldown on the speeders, so if you die and buff, then try to take the speeder, you have to wait 4. The huge divide in gear attractiveness between Republic and Empire. Knights Champion PvP gear makes me want to hurl, the helmet is ridiculous 5. Getting stuck on stuff that doesn't make any sense and /stuck not even working half the time. 6. When you get DC'd during a PvP match, then log back in, you have to relog again b/c it still shows you as in a WZ so you can't re queue. 7. Loading of planets seems to have gotten much slower since launch, very annoying for PvP which makes it annoying to quest in between PvP queue pops. 8. Companions constantly in the way when trying to loot or interact with things, their default follow distance needs to be increased slightly to avoid this. 9. The server has problems syncing where you see enemy npcs (mobs) and where they actually are. I have two accounts, I often run them together, on one screen I will see a mob at one location while on the other it will be further away. It's visually in one location but not actually there as when I run by, even though it looks like it's right next to me, it doesn't aggro. Or vice versa some times it looks like it's way away but then when I run by it aggros and then magically teleports to where I am. This problem also happens in PvP. I'll CC someone right in the middle of the fire trap, the trap will go off, they take no damage, then after they trap ends, the visuals will sync and I can see they were never actually in the middle of the trap but just outside of it and that's why they didn't take any damage. And my latency is always in the 50's or 60's which is about as good as it gets so I know it's not an issue on my end. That's about all I got off the top of my head but I know there's more, this game is a bug ridden mess. I'm actually dreading 1.2 b/c I already Know they're going to F that up so bad. They're going to be adding all those UI changes when the UI as it is now is a buggy PoS. How are you going to add more on top of something that isn't even stable in it's current form.
  13. 2 hours might as well be 24 hours if that 2 hour window comprises the bulk of your free time to play for the day. If you have 5 or 6 hours free to play then yeah maybe it's no biggie, but if you only manage 2 or 3 hours a day and they happen to shut the server down right in your play window, kinda kills it for you for the whole day. So, blowing off a little nerd-rage on the forum isn't too much IMO.
  14. Not for nothing but why do us PAYING customers have to suffer so you can patch in some crap for some free weekenders who may or may not ever subscribe to the game? Further more, why wasn't this all done properly during the standard weekly maintenance cycle? Bringing the servers down to provide free service for some promotional weekend is hardly what I would consider an "emergency" situation. I'm already paying for the service, let those people wait, push that weekend back or at the very least do this downtime in off-peak hours. Honestly, how do you justify bringing servers down in peak time to patch in some fix to improve the experience of people who are not even in the game yet and not paying customers, the hell...?
  15. Ilum is just very poorly implemented and is basically dead on every server and with the recent change so you can get credit in WZ, there's really no reason to go there except for the dailies there. It's a bit puzzling, with a Star Wars setting, open world PvP should be some of the most fun and easy to implement gameplay around, not quite sure how they managed to fail so hard at it.
  16. I'd have to agree, 5 hours a night is not casual gaming lol, hell that's more hours than a part time job.
  17. actually yes, that is hard to do if you have some type of life outside the game. Right now I'm more PvP focused and after I get my PvP daily done and maybe a few other dailies for cash, I don't have much time for anything else. Not everyone has 4 or 5 hours to spend in the game all the time. So yeah, if you're time limited or more casual, trying to keep up with 2 sets of gear, one for raiding and one for PvP, it is actually a pretty significant burden.
  18. Just quick checking, sure it's probably been asked but I admit it, I'm lazy...so, was there a Q&A today please?
  19. yes in voidstar, sorry. A random roll, that's just plain stupid.
  20. how is it supposed to work when you get the same point total/distance in, b/c however it should, it doesn't. We got to the same points/breach distance in as the Imps but we got there faster and had more medals at the end but we still lost, how exactly does that work, the team that was leading in every way loses the match, honestly...
  21. yes I know but they don't tell you his name, I did not know every single vendor on the fleet so took me a while to check them. I don't spend enough time looking at every vendor to know when they add a single one on the map.
  22. found him now, geologist guy next to lightside room
  23. Yeah, see in the notes they added a vendor, don't see it on map...wish they'd be more specific, riding around the fleet trying to find some random vendor is not my idea of time well spent. Anyone have location for this vendor?
