  1. I'll go check but I know I didn't do it accidental or otherwise as I haven't logged into this site or the game for a few weeks at least. Edit: according to the log the last time I bought coins was back in mid July which sounds about right as that's around the last time I logged into the game and the balance for coins currently is aobut right for my monthly grants since then. I just can't figure what that charge would be for, guess I'll have to wait to call EA on Monday now.
  2. Okay so I resubbed to this game like a month ago and even though I didn't play too much I left my sub active b/c I knew I would come back to this when the expansion came and maybe for a little between now and then. My sub just renewed itself and I see where I've been charged 14.99 for the sub fee and then 39.99 for I don't even know what. Is that the expansion charge? I thought they said that was free to subscribers but even if it's not why the hell would they charge me w/o my consent! If it's not the expansion can someone please explain to me why EA just charged me 39.99 for no reason, anyone else get this charge?
  3. Mythic? What game are you guys talking about again?
  4. Yeah I understood that to be your point on your original statement. I simply don't quite see the logic though, I don't want to get into a long type fest to explain why. I will simply say though, do you think anyone is actually subscribing to this game longer b/c they called them achievements and not wastes of time? Again, by your logic, why don't they call jobs, "Something I only do b/c I have bills to pay." There's no sinister plot behind the name achievements, that's a logical thing to call them. I'm sensing you're a very cynical person.
  5. Voidstar is still my most hated WZ. Huttball is probably the only WZ I actually like, Alderaan is okay if you don't end up with idiot teams. Main reason I like Huttball though is b/c it's the one WZ where tactics have a chance to overcome any gear imbalances. The gear imbalance still hurts you but it is possible to win there if you're just better than the other team despite their gear. All the other warzones basically boil down to who has the heals and who has the better gear. Especially true with voidstar which is why I hate it so much.
  6. Well I'm not sure you suggestion is plausible but I do agree that it is very annoying when that happens. I play on a good population server so the que time isn't a problem for me but I don't understand why people PvP in quest/instance gear when the recruit gear can be purchased for a days worth of dailies basically. Like I think you can buy the entire set for less than 300k, which you can earn by doing all the dailies for one day, so I just don't see why you wouldn't get the set. The recruit gear isn't the greatest thing or anything but you will certainly have a much better chance than when you come in there with your quest items on from leveling.
  7. Well I would never be so rude as to complain about it but honestly, the damage output is hardly the reason most teams are going to lose a pvp match. Quite honestly if you're constantly the top dps it generally means you're contributing the least to the actual victory. Don't get me wrong having high dps'ers is great and certainly helptul but those are also generally the people that don't do anything but dps the entire time. So those will be the guys that sit there and chase a guy that's almost dead across the map to get that kill while his buddy caps the objective. I pvp the most on my tanks so my dps is genearly never over 200k but I also almost always have the most medals and the highest objectives score b/c I play to win, not to top the damage scores. Even if I don't have the tops in anything though, I know I always play to win I don't just blindly try to get kills like a lot of people. Like in the new WZ, how often do you see people capping those objectives while 4 or 5 of your team is alive right there. That's b/c they get so focused on the kill and getting damage they forget the objective is to hold the points. Pretty much every time I got there if I go south, first thing I do is go for the cap and even with 5 or 6 of the enemy right there b/c we just started the match, I usually get the cap b/c they're so busy trying to kill they don't even notice me until it's too late. So, just having high damage output doesn't mean you're actually contributing to a win. Your level basically means you're not going to have anywhere near the utility as someone higher level than you as that will come with your trained skills. The way the pvp system works, your damage and what not scales, so even at low levels you can still get decent dps numbers you can't however get utility that you lack b/c you don't have certain skills. Like prior to 1.2 when you didn't get sprint until 14, that alone would make people who came in prior to 14 a hinderance to the team. In my opinion though, for most classes, around 18 or 20 is a decent time to start PvP, you have enough utility with most classes to be useful by then.
  8. Well by that logic then why do you play games at all b/c that is essentially what all entertainment boils down to, an enjoyable way to waste your time. That's movies, theme parks, video games...for the most part it's all just about finding pleasant ways to waste time.
  9. Well to be honest, I'd say you're just a bit too wasteful. I currently have 4 50's and a stable of other characters of various ranges. On all of my 50's, by the time I hit 50 I was 400/400 in my chosen crafting with all skills trained and I had enough to buy all my ability trains and my level 50 piloting, after all that I generally had around 150-200k or so left over. It was the same on all of the toons I've leveled to 50 so far and is on course to being the same with the ones I'm still leveling. So if you're broke soon as you hit 50 that's honestly something you did, not bad game design. As far as post 50 gearing...take PvP gear, the recruit stuff, you can basically do dailies one day and you'll have enough to buy that entire set. So I'm not really seeing where your argument has much weight. I will agree that there is certainly a credit grind at the end game but it isn't really a difficult one.
  10. I think the issue would be more of how they prioritize this request over how much it is requested. Quite frankly I would imagine achievements is a very popular/high volume request. I myself would very much like to see a more robust and activity based achievement system. I have in fact also submitted requests for this via the suggestion box and I have had conversations with people in game that would also like to see this. That said, just b/c something is highly requested doesn't mean it has to be high priority as far as when it gets put in the game. As I said, I would love to see this but I would much prefer that they fix the resolve system first. So, while I actually don't doubt achievemtns are probably highly requested, I could wait on those for them to work on some other things that I personally consider more important. So I'd say the better question is really how they determine that priority more than how many people are asking for achievements.
  11. For my personal play style the problem with the current state of the game is the poorly balanced PvP and the terrible random, crap pile of a crafting system. This game has one of the best itemizationi systems ever in an MMO but the entire crafting system is fairly terrible and the economy is pathetic. You either have to have reliable friends that are crafters or multiple alts with all crafting professions if you ever want anything crafted in this game b/c the GTN is a barren wasteland for the most part. One thing I did always like about WoW, you could always find anything you were too lazy to get/make yourself on the AH. A lot of the problem with the system in SWTOR is the random crap they chose to go with. It's why you can rarely find simple things like low level resources on the AH. No one really wants to waste time and money getting those to sell, and then it's hard to price the b/c no one is going to keep track of how much they spent on the missions to get 'x' amount of this resource. It's just silly they way they chose to build the system. Far as PvP, I could go on about it for a while but right now I'd actually just be glad if they fixed resolve, that would actually cut out about 70% of my annoyance with PvP. It's a major mechanic of PvP and it has never worked right and I don't even know if they acknowledge that it is a problem. I honestly am starting to feel about this game the same way I felt about WoW before I quit, the only difference is I played WoW for a little over 5 years before I got to that point. I guess the other difference is that if I did quit SWTOR, I might come back when they dropped an expac, there's no chance of that with WoW.
  12. Well if we denied anyone from posting who never posted an original thought, the forums would be pretty dead. Your response to his post isn't original either, how many people do you think said something very similar in the previous iterations of this topic that you elude to. It's a cycle, if you're not new to the internet it shouldn't be new to you so complaining about it really says more about you than him. Though I suppose now the same can be said about me...curse this cycle!!
  13. The RE is still pretty stupid, I don't know if it's bugged or not but it's still horrible. Took my 400 Synthweaver exactly 27 RE's to get 1 blue learn on a pair of level 9 boots that supposedly had a 20% learn chance. Their system is just terrible and I don't know why they can't see that.
  14. Do schematics for might based augments exist in the 1st or 2nd tier of crew skill missions? I've been running nothing but schematics missions for the past two nights and have yet to see any might schematics for might based augments. I've gotten maybe 30 schematics so far, which took quite a good bit of missions, been doing them back to back for hours. I've gotten a wide range of different stat schems for different professions but no might ones. Would love to know if they even exist before I keep dumping more time and money into trying to get this schem. If you're thinking why bother for such a lower level...well b/c I want it for my alt heh, I spent time crafting him armor with an augment slot only to find now there seems to be no useful augments for him at this level. Yet another lacking area in Bioware's horrid crafting system.
  15. I really just don't like all the randomness at all. It's a bit too much to go into and it's been discussed to death so I suppose there's no real need to anyway but honestly it's just ridiculous. Even after the supposed buff to the chance to learn new schematics from RE, I'm on RE number 20 as I type this on a pair of level 9 boots, which supposedly have a 20% chance to discover new schematic and I have yet to learn a single thing. If this is their idea of "greatly increased chance to learn new schematics" then they need to scrap this system entirely. I mean honestly, these are level 9 boots that I will out level the same day I start using them I'm sure, it should not take this long to get a schematic for items at this level. The money sink system that the missions are add insult to injury as I have to waste money on missions I don't need to get materials I do need. The entire system is just annoying but the bottom line of it is that all the randomness of every aspect of their crafting system make it very frustrating. It's impossible to get a grip on how much of a material you need to achieve the results you want b/c of all the randomness. When I started I didn't think it would take anywhere near this long to get a new learn for a level 9 item that I could send to my alt, which as of yet I still haven't even got yet.
  16. Yeah I really don't understand the direction they have in mind with these changes. To me PvP actually got worse with 1.2 and since PvP is all I really like to do other than rolling new toons at this point, I'm not having much fun in the game right now. I pray they plan to revisit this b/c the current state is kind of depressing, I don't understand how some of this stuff makes it out of testing. One of the more mundane changes, doubling the cost of med pacs, on a good win you might get around 100 comms if you're lucky, assuming it was a hard fought win, you might have burned up 3 to 5 mepacs. Hard to keep those stocked if you have to use all your won comms to replace them. I don't get why they jacked up the price on some of the stuff. Why are the lowbie pvp weapons 900 comms now? I dunno, system just doesn't feel polished. Liek they thought it up, tossed it in and didn't really consider what they were doing. I don't play on test but the very first day 1.2 went live and I saw this stuff, I immediately had issues with things, so not sure how concerns don't come up in testing.
  17. This is one of my main gripes, they do all this changing and "class balancing" but they don't fix one of the biggest problems with PvP, the worthless resolve system. I spend more time cursing at my monitor b/c of this useless system than anything else. What is the purpose of a CC break if they can just CC, root and anything thing else to you right after you pop it. The way resolve and CC is handled is probably one of the biggest things wrong with pvp, I've never seen a game that allowed you to stack CC's, you can be force choked and just before that wears off you can be flash banged and it will hold the duration for that too. Then if you're lucky enough and resolve actually works for you, here come all the juggs leaping int to root you then the snipers with leg shots...it's a freaking joke.
  18. It is speed, it was in the patch notes, they want to encourage faster wins.
  19. So we can't even queue with 8 people now either? I don't so much care about ranked war zones as I do about not being able to queue with my friends, so sick of dealing with the complete morons that end up on my team in PvP. Why does that have to be some separate phase, add that now and just drop the ranked WZ stuff until it's right, how hard is it to allow 8 people to queue together.
  20. Is it the position of the devs that that the current state of resolve is "working as intended" or do you guys acknowledge that it currently does not function properly. If so when can we expect this to be addressed?
  21. Was just thinking it would be nice if there was some type of indicator of some kind that would let you know that if you finish the current portion of the main quest that a bonus mission is attached to, it will forfeit the bonus mission. Like there are some quests where you can complete the main quest a bonus mission is attached to and then still finish up the bonus mission objectives. However there are also quests where once you complete the main quest, you can no longer do the bonus mission things. I generally will do most of the bonus mission stuff but there are times where I get locked out of doing them b/c I complete the main mission, some times it's b/c the main mission is so simple and short I just figure there's no way that would be all to the quest and sure enough I do it and then can't do the bonus. Anyway, just a thought make things a bit simpler for people like me who like to do those but for various reasons some times get locked out of them.
  22. I don't generally agree with this. It is perfectly simple for a any dps class that can heal to cc/slow/root you and take 3 seconds to drop 2 heals on themselves, again, in a fight that is roughly even and therefore likely to go to the wire, this can mean the difference between a win and a loss. Also, to speak to your point about dps spec's healing, again, in a roughly even fight if one person has even a little heals, you're going to lose. Now if you just completely out class that person are you going to beat them anyway, most likely but a dps spec can certainly easily keep someone alive long enough to kill a guy they are comparable with, how you suggest other wise is a bit baffling to me.
  23. So I honestly never understand this, I cannot think of any game where this was ever a good thing and it always gives that class an edge. Commando is one of the better dps in this game when it comes to pvp and they can heal resonably well even as dps. Are they going to out heal your damage...generally no but they can spot heal themselves enough to make a fight that would otherwise be even, lopsided. You want dps specs to keep heals for pve purposes or off healing in general, make it so they're heals are vastly reduced after using any offensive ability and not the 30% that it is currently, that's fine for heal specs but for dps specs they should get basically no benefit from heals if they were actively doing offense within the last 20 to 30 seconds.
  24. Was reading the Q&A where they were talking about the usefulness of the different comms after 1.2, though they didn't mention mercenary comms, my understanding is they will be going away in 1.2...is that correct? If they are going away, will I be able to use the ones I have saved for anything? I generally stack up 1k of them before I hit 50 and I have 3 characters a few levels from 50 so they're all sitting on 1k of mercenary comms which I would've used for champ bags. It's not likely I will have them all to 50 before 1.2 (not sure when it's coming) so assuming I don't, will those 1k I have vanish, will I still be able to spend them on anything at all, is it possible they will be converted into warzone comms? It just seems really unfair if there will be no use for them, I put the work in getting them just to have them be useless would suck.
