  1. Do you also demand refunds from movie theaters if you didn't like the movie you just watched? Seriously...
  2. Yeah, I had a problem with my G35 playing out of only one ear (the right ear) in stereo mode for most of the game's sounds, the alternative was switching on the godawful fake surround sound that makes everything sound like I'm in a giant cave, so I just use a cheap headset to play this game now. I wasn't sure if it was something on SWTOR's end, or Logitech's end, but regardless, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with these issues.
  3. ...seems to be completely borked. I've had this problem since launch, and I know a few others that I game with have the problem as well. Sound cuts in and out. This includes things like music, speeder sounds, background noises, etc. Sometimes the game will be fine. I'll be on Balmorra, hearing the sounds of war in the background, along with the music, and it's perfect. Then suddenly it all stops, and the only thing I can hear while traveling the planet are sound effects (specifically: footsteps, voice-overs, and abilities play fine). It seems to be any looping sounds that have the problem. For example, a lot of times when I ride the rocket trams on Corellia, it will start off with sound, and about 1/4 into the journey the sound stops, and I watch the rocket tram zoom down the track in complete silence. It can be a real immersion breaker. Anybody else having this problem, and is this a known issue?
  4. LOL, I can't believe we're debating on whether or not to turn swtor into a police state.
  5. I agree. I haven't done this, but honestly, it sounds like fun. Sounds like an Indiana Jones-like thrill of getting the treasure in an area that is incredibly dangerous to your level. Shame to know that you can get in trouble for playing the game the way the developers designed it. Bioware, if this sort of thing is something you really want to restrict, then you should just restrict travel to planets based on level altogether. I don't support this, but I'm just saying... if you let the player travel to the planet and loot what they want, and then they do so, how are they breaking any rules?
  6. Hah, we just did the false emperor and it took us 3 hours somehow. (we died a lot).
  7. I am so happy that this game doesn't have macros. I hope Bioware never gives in. It's legalized cheating, is what macros are.
  8. At first it is. Then you run out of things to do. Didn't have that problem in SWG, for the most part. And that's why I'm such a strong supporter of sandbox elements, and I pray that Bioware goes in that direction.
  9. Bleh. A lot of stubborn vets will never admit it, but the game was better after the NGE. Not immediately. The NGE itself was godawful terrible. But years later, the game was finally better. A good example is the post-NGE bio-engineer. Way more complex and interesting than the former version. The storyteller system. Quest building (while it wasn't done right, but still, it's better than nothing). New content for space. New places to explore and adventures to be had.
  10. -A meta GCW system in which players fight for control of territories on each planet (not just Illum) for control of each planet, and the galaxy. Perhaps the pvp could be centered around fighting for control of some kind of outposts in each zone. SWG added something similar to this way late into its lifespan, when it was way too late, but it was AWESOME. -A revamped space system. What we have now is unacceptable, it's a cheap gimmick, pure filler content. It needs to be completely scrapped and redone from scratch. I would love a space combat system more similar to the Rogue Squadron games. This, of course, would be an open space flight game, not the rail shooter we have now. SWG had the right idea, but it was too focused on dogfighting, and had a lack of large scale Star Wars space battle action. Also, space needs to be multiplayer, as this is an MMO. Currently, it is not. SWG hit the nail on the head with their approach to space multiplayer. -Player cities. The best thing about Galaxies, bar none. But don't make SWG's mistake by mucking up the landscape with random structures all over the place. Bioware made a beautiful galaxy, let's not destroy it. Instead, guilds should be able to purchase a plot of land on whatever planet they want. The amount of player cities on each planet is capped. Cities start at rank 1, and as they get more players to live in them, they rank up. Ranking up grants the mayor access to more civic structures (things like mail terminals,, a starport markets, military buildings, etc). Add a new crafting crew skill to create structures and furniture to support this system. On PvP servers, Republic players can launch attacks on Imperial cities, and vise versa. Anyway, I'm getting into too much detail, here. Obviously this is a very complicated system and deserves its own thread.
  11. It's gotten to the point where I no longer care. I know that I'm being punished for playing "in the moment", whereas someone who picks only dark side or only light side options is being rewarded, which I think is a flawed game mechanic. But still, I want to play this like every other Bioware game is designed, to make the hard decisions instead of mindlessly mashing the same button every time. If I have to be punished for it, then so be it. At least I am enjoying the game more.
  12. I'm level 45 and I hate it when I get accused of "rushing through the game", or "power leveling" These people fail to take into account two things. First, I've been playing since the first day of early access. Second, I've been playing a LOT, that doesn't entail power grinding or any way of cheating the system. I just am really in love with this game, and because I'm on winter break from school, I have extra time to play. I agree that freeform space combat should be the number one priority, and that minigame should be dumped completely. To be fair to the developers who worked on it, I would have no problem if there was something you can click in your captain's quarters for your character to "look back and remember", which allows you to play the old (current) space system missions for people who still want to do them. But the main space game needs to be scrapped and redone completely. You just can't give space the short end of the stick in a STAR WARS game.
  13. A sell-back features that gives you 5 minutes to sell the item back at full price would be nice. I've done this plenty of times, and was thinking about it last night.
  14. You are underestimating how important something like that is. To call it "fluff" shows that.
  15. First of all, it's called "Star Wars Galaxies". Second of all, nobody misses SWG for its combat or its leveling. What do we miss are the sandbox features the game had, things like: -player housing -player cities -the extremely deep crafting system -the multiplayer component to space (a pilot, a copilot, gunners, a maintenance guy, etc.) -being able to set up your own player events (create your own swoop racing tracks, lotteries, etc.) -the ability to create your own quests for your friends to do -the meta GCW system -the free-form space flight SWTOR is a great game, there's no denying that, but right now it is missing the massive multiplayer component. If you make an MMO and don't take advantage of the MMO features, there's something wrong with you. SWTOR in its current state, could work with a lobby system. Level your character with a drop in and out feature similar to borderlands, and use a server browser to choose which warzone or flashpoint you want to play. That's bad. If you create an MMO, why not take advantage of the fact that it's an MMO and add features that you could only add with an MMO, like some of the things I listed above.
  16. If anything the game's too easy. The only truly difficult challenge I get are the higher level space missions, PvP (of course), and the occasional class quest boss fights.
  17. That's a huge waste of Bioware's development time IMO.
  18. At first I was disappointed, and got worried that you guys plan on keeping this game going by adding in a flashpoint, warzone, and operation in every update, but then I realized that the amount of content you have planned for the first patch is quite small, considering that I assume a pretty big team is working on this game. I'm assuming you guys have something big in the works.
  19. I want more sandbox and social gameplay features. Things like: -Those teased guild capital ships -The ability to dock with a friend's ship in space and walk between your ships -Player housing (it could be player cities, or apartments) -Player cities like in Galaxies, only instead, guilds can purchase instanced plots of land on whatever planet they want, so the planets aren't uglied up -A complete overhaul of the space system so it's more like the Rogue Squadron games -a GCW meta game where you fight for control of planets, like SWG implemented late into its lifespan -Remove the chat restrictions between Republic and Empire players
  20. Actually most people can play it. And I am level 43, and I have barely encountered any bugs, none of them game breaking. This is the most smooth MMO launch I've ever played. Maybe your computer sucks.
