  1. Reminder: Events are scheduled into the game via patches. We might not even be getting Life Day/Anniversary this year if BioWare has lumped it in with the 7.0 patch.
  2. 9/10 premades are trashy number farmers who need 40 games to finish a 10 game weekly. I've lost count of how many times I've walked right by number farmers with the Huttball floating over my head, unchallenged. The tunnel vision is that strong. I've queued solo and have absolutely crushed premades on every map. Play for objectives and you can win.
  3. It's a package deal. I doubt we're even getting Life Day this year if that was also packaged in with the 7.0 patch. Season 14 shall continue!
  4. They leave for Christmas holidays in the middle of December and don't come back until the middle of January. Why they keep releasing major content right before they leave for an entire month, I don't know. There were similar issues last year when they released Spirit of Vengeance in a completely broken state, went on Holidays, and left it broken for over a month.
  5. Looks like I re-subbed too soon. There's nothing to do in this game. 6.X is the worst state this game has ever been in. The entire end game is Toborro's Courtyard SM and Hammer Station SM. PVP is good. Everything else is bad. It is what it is. If the expansion isn't done, you can't release it. Can you guys please stop doing big releases right before you guys go off on Christmas holidays for an entire month? How about releasing 8.0 during the nice Summer months?
  6. Not having purge on evasion makes Medicine essentially unplayable in PVP. Evasion + Tactical Cloak is the only big defensive move that Medicine has. It doesn't have phase walk, or a super reflect or anything like that. Stealthing away is the only thing that Medicine can do to get out of a lethal situation.
  7. I don't think you appreciate the difference between facts and opinions. Allow me to give you some examples. Opinion: The pitiful amount of new content we get in SWTOR is not worth subbing for Fact: 24-man raids pop from group finder in FF14 while people in SWTOR sit on fleet and miserably chant "need DPS with taunts for Toborro's Courtyard" Fact: Crafting in SWTOR is a just queueing up a timer while crafting in FF14 is a significantly more complex mini-game and each type of crafting and gathering has its own separate class, gear, and storyline. Fact: SWTOR released the Dxun operation in the last quarter of 2019 and isn't getting a new one until the last quarter of 2021. Fact: Before Onslaught was released in the last quarter of 2019 the previous expansion was released in the last quarter of 2016 because they had sent the SWTOR developers to go make Anthem and they kept charging you a subscription fee for a game that was mostly not being worked on anymore. Fact: For a multi-billion dollar corporation, like Electronic Arts, voice acting isn't that expensive in the grand scheme of things. I listened to an ANN podcast about this a few years ago. At the time, hiring unionized voice actors in the United States cost $800 for a 4-hour recording session. What you're suggesting is that EA is some kind of Ma-and-Pa convenience store that has to pinch pennies to get by. If EA was so concerned about money, they wouldn't have completely botched the launch of this game which ended in HALF of all subscribers leaving after the first month. Opinion: We deserve better And now you know the difference between facts and opinions. ^_^;
  8. SWTOR major expansion which happens once every two years: One operation + one flashpoint Final Fantasy XIV regular update which happens every few months: One raid + one dungeon FF14 does pretty much EVERYTHING better than SWTOR with the exception of voiced cutscenes and PVP. If you're not absolutely in love with SWTOR PVP, I struggle to understand why you're still playing this game. The same old content forever and ever. The same old flashpoints and operations, over and over and over again. Over the course of two years, they add a handful of new flashpoints and no operations at all until the next expansion. The only explanation I can think of is that some people just really like Star Wars (fair) or maybe they just don't know what other games are offering. In FF14 a hard mode dungeon isn't just the story mode dungeon but harder. A FF14 HM dungeon is actually a completely new dungeon with new bosses and new mechanics. In FF14, crafting isn't just clicking and coming back after 20 min like you're baking cookies. In FF14, each type of crafting is its own class. Crafters have their own unique gear. Each crafting class has its own unique storyline. Crafting an item is a mini-game that requires you to use your brain to get the best results. In FF14, 24-man raids pop from group finder and it rarely takes more than 15 min to get a pop if you queued for random. Amazing new music to rock out to and not just the same recycled tracks from ancient movies New game+: Want to experience the story again with your favourite character? You can do that in FF14 with a few clicks. It breaks my heart because I've been here since like 2012. I love SWTOR but I am not getting my money's worth from the monthly sub. The value is simply not there, so I have decided to unsub and play FF14. My sub expires tomorrow. I might come back for one month when the expansion drops but without serious changes, there's no reason to stay longer. If you disagree, I invite you to remember the period before Onslaught. We had no major content updates for almost THREE YEARS because BioWare had sent the SWTOR team to go work on Anthem (lmao) and then still had the nerve to charge us the same monthly price for a game in maintenance mode. This is an abusive relationship and it is time to walk away. I don't want to be entirely negative here, either. Some people do enjoy this game as it is. I hope they keep enjoying it. I wish you all the best. I will miss SWTOR PVP because FF14 PVP is trash and I will remember my time here, fondly.
  9. We get one new operation, every two years. Final Fantasy XIV gets a new raid every couple of months.
  10. It's this. The walker segments are terrible. You spend all of this time building a unique character, learning a class, and then they take it all away for half of a chapter, in multiple chapters. They force you into this walker where you slowly walk, pick up every mob, and you have like five moves. It's bad and not fun.
  11. This is actually pretty class breaking in PVP. With all due respect, the developer who fed you this line did not think any of this through at all. The reason why freezing force is good is because it is on demand. It has no cooldown. By tying the guardian's only slow to a move that is used in its rotation, the team is guaranteeing that you won't have that slow when you need it. In PVP, timing is everything. So, for example, for a guardian to catch a sorcerer, you slow them with freezing force which causes them to force speed away, 9 times out of 10. The guardian leaps back in and then reapplies the slow. Without the ability to do this, guardians will just be kited/trolled into impotence. Combine this with all of the other changes such as Awe being taken away unless you give up another really good defensive, and what do we have? Guardians have very little ability to control the battlefield, anymore, which is the only thing they were good at in PVP outside of troll tanking with Grit Teeth.
  12. This doesn't even make sense. You are claiming that people are doing nothing because they are getting nothing. If they are getting nothing and they KNOW they are getting nothing, then why are they even in the queue? Who logs into SWTOR for the sole purpose of queueing into WZs and then going AFK? What is even the scheme here? You've got this backwards. Back when people were rewarded for losing, we had all kinds of PVE baddies coming into WZs and going AFK because they were getting prizes for it. Even if they lost every match, they would eventually finish every PVP quest through persistence.
  13. The biggest potential con depends on how freely we can change classes. If we can change classes anywhere, anytime, then this will destroy PVE content. When you start a flashpoint, everyone will change to a stealth class, run down to the boss, and then change to the highest parsing classes for the actual fight. All group PVE content will become speedruns and anyone who doesn't play ball will be booted from the group.
  14. I'll say it again, a handful of daily complainers do not represent hundreds of thousands of people. My points were so good that you couldn't actually offer a counter-argument against them.
  15. You have that backwards. If I queue for random flashpoints, what I usually get is anything but random. I usually get Hammer Station the favourite choice of bad players who die to the crushing affliction DOT in Athiss who then try to justify it with "but Hammer Station is faster." The FP queue is in absolutely terrible shape. If they were to adopt your suggestion, the same thing would happen to WZs. People would queue for whichever map is deemed to be the easiest and then that single map would be the only thing we ever see for the most part. The WZ queue is just fine as it is.
  16. The most common mistake for beginners to PVP is to assume that knowing your class means you are ready to fight. No, if you want to stand a chance in PVP, you need to know EVERY class and spec in the game. Knowing how to hit the button for Raging Burst isn't going to help you very much if you don't understand how to spot an operative's evasion-reflect and if you don't know what the consequences are of dumping Raging Burst into 150% reflect.
  17. I didn't skip the class stories but I would absolutely love the opportunity to reset all story progress on a character and play through all of the stories again.
  18. Every RP guild has its own RP. When you join, you start at the bottom of their ladder and you learn their RP from the beginning. If you could join as a Darth, then everyone would be a Darth. Dozens of Darths and no subordinates. You can always make your own RP guild.
  19. Nope. I am making a topic to let BioWare know that they're doing lots of good things. I make positive topics. Not just topics to complain about how BioWare won't nerf every class but mine. I am setting a good example.
  20. No point in lying to BioWare. They have all of the data. They can easily see that there are more people playing PVP than ever before. None of you will ever successfully gaslight the developers and you should stop wasting your time.
  21. If they want to copy the job system from FF14, they should go all of the way. Every "combat style" should have to be levelled separately.
  22. I said not entirely. But plenty of win traders have definitely been banned. I would name specific people and even guilds but call outs are against the forum rules.
  23. Lethality's only really good defensive is cloaking screen (which concealment also has and more). Lethality + focus fire = squish Concealment is burst and burst damage is the only damage that really matters. You have to be able to blow up people before they can be healed, guard swapped, etc. You have to be able to lock someone down and do that big damage before they can pop their defensives to escape. Lethality is a DOT spec and DOTs can be purged as well. If I'm playing an assassin or an operative, Lethality is pretty laughable. With that said, everything works in regs. Play whatever is fun. I've seen many Leth players put out 10 mil+ damage at the end of a game just with fluffy DOT spam.
  24. PVP is far from perfect but it is still fun and I have fun playing it, every day. -Lockouts primarily punish sore losers and PVP has gotten significantly better since you guys introduced this very good feature. -Removal of PVP gear was an overall great change that significantly lowered queue time for both regs and ranked -Using secret methods to hunt win traders in ranked has been very successful (though, not entirely). Plenty of notorious win traders from the old PVP servers just straight up vanished once they got busted for win trading. -Almost every spec is fun in regs. I play everything and I've done top numbers as almost everything. I'm having a good time. -Many of the people who come here just to complain are not as good at PVP as they pretend they are. They get wrecked due to lack of talent and then blame the developers. It was never your fault, BioWare. -There's a very small minority of people here who think that the developers can be manipulated if they just complain about the same things, every single day, as loudly as they can. Half a dozen people trying to drown out this entire board are still just half a dozen people. They do not speak for the hundreds of thousands of people who enjoy your game.
  25. They don't reveal these kinds of things, specifically because cheaters would use the exact details to improve their cheating. I see some people upset that they won't reveal this anyway. Likewise, some people were upset when they found out that BioWare has been using secret techniques to catch win traders. I wonder if there is some kind of connection.
