  1. It really, really doesn't matter this much. I play on a laptop I bought on sale at Staples for $400, and it runs every game I play just fine. There is no real reason to sink thousands of dollars into a 'high end' machine.
  2. Hopefully they never do this. The fact that they have legacy gear is bad enough. A player should have to earn everything for every character.
  3. So in other words, you aren't great at PvP and don't like arenas since they expose you more?
  4. With all respect, if you are playing as much as you say (nearly 50 hours/week), then you absolutely should take a break. It isn't healthy to spend that much time on ANY hobby.
  5. Interesting. I didn't realize cosmetic items from the CM (which holds only cosmetic items) made someone successful in the game. Did you even read what you wrote?
  6. ...yes, ranged players have an advantage over you at range. Just like you can burn them in no time if you get to melee range. That is the nature of the game. You are doing nothing but asking ranged players to give up the advantage of ranged attacks so that you can have an easier time. Use terrain, break the stun, wait them out until they move first. Play better. What are you willing to give up for this new ability? Are you willing to give up some of your defensive CDs? You do realize you have the best in the game, don't you?
  7. Don't you mean it can be said about any video game ever made (not just F2P)? People don't spend years developing a product out of the goodness of their hearts.
  8. You are wrong...PvP is players playing a game against other players. Multiplayer racing would be PvP. Nowhere does it say it has to be fighting. If all you are trying to do is kill the most people, you are not a great PvPer in this game (other than ranked). Objectives always trump killing.
  9. The same way as getting people in real life to like you: buy them lots of gifts.
  10. Thanks for going right for insults. I know what QOL features are, and I am all for them. I know what add ons are, and I am 100% against them. Addons are a bad feature in WoW. They let poor players feel 'l33t' without putting work in to learn the game. That might be something you want, but I definitely don't. And again - every modern MMO is a copy of another with a different paint job. You seem to want to ignore that fact and paint WoW as god's gift to mankind. WoW is popular because it hit the tipping point in market growth. It is popular due to a phenomenon of product adoption that happens independent of any product quality. In short, it had better marketing than other games, not necessarily better content. Look up 'tipping points' in marketing if you don't believe me. No it isn't. WoW is stupidly easy. You download a few addons, set up your macros, go to sleep and blindly press a few buttons every once in a while. Blizzard keeps addons because it makes for an easier game. I would much rather have a more challenging game with less people than a huge game that is easier. Following your logic, EA should make the game more like candy crush, since that is wildly popular. Claiming one game should copy another simply because the other is popular is nothing short of moronic. I am afraid of people like you ending up on my OPs group who are clueless on how to play the game, and only know how to spam smash the macro you blindly downloaded from a 5 minute google search.
  11. Every game created since 1995 is just a cut and paste of an older game with a different skin. There haven't been new abilities in any MMO since maybe EQ1. Saying this is a copy and paste of abilities from WoW is pretty stupid, given WoW's abilities are simply a copy and paste of an older game as well. And addons are not 'quality of life features', they are 'make the game easier to play features'. Adding them would be a very stupid managerial decision.
  12. Except it is. You do realize you can buy anything from the CM on the GTN with in game creds (which news flash...you have to work for).
  13. So this gives you even more to do end-game. Work to build creds by running dailies, FPs, etc. so that you can buy what you want off of GTN. Content is accessible to everyone, assuming they put the time into the game to have enough creds to buy what they want. Making everything freely available to everyone (as you seem to want) makes for a terrible game. If there isn't something more to 'work for', people quit playing very quickly.
  14. I would love it if they link general chat for player housing to fleet. If I could get to GTN as well as see ops groups forming from fleet chat in a player housing, I would never hang out on the fleet again.
  15. Add-ons let you blindly switch specs, download a few addons/macros and begin playing while being clueless on how the spec works. It makes the game ridiculously easy. I don't play WoW anymore because it is so easy (due to add ons/macros) that is is boring. Having the game automatically alert me when things drop off makes it boring. Having a macro that sets off multiple abilities at once makes the game boring. Do you enjoy having a challenge when playing, or do you want to be able to mindlessly stop through everything on the first try? Also, you wasted some money if you built up a machine as you described. I play on a $400 laptop from best buy and do high level raiding just fine. If you think you need add ons/macros and a custom gaming mouse/machine to play adequately, you might not be as good as you think at the game.
  16. Wanting people to group up in a multiplayer game. What were they thinking???
  17. Did you even read what the OP wrote, or are you just copying and pasting your go-to line on these forums?
  18. This isn't true at all. You can easily measure your performance post-fight in SWTOR. The real issue is discouraging people who WANT to measure performance mid-fight. It isn't about being ridiculed, it is about pushing people who would even think to ridicule someone over performance away from the game. Again, it is just a game, not a profession. Add-ons during fights do nothing but make the game feel like work. I do enough work on the job to go home and do more work in my free time. You have it completely backwards. Add-ons mean there is less to learn in the game. It is easier to change classes/respec/etc. It is much more difficult to master the game without add-ons, which is why the people who want add-ons are the ones who want to feel elite in the game without the work to get there. So turn on combat logging and upload to tortools.com. Problem solved...
  19. tac·tic [tak-tik] noun 1. a plan, procedure, or expedient for promoting a desired end or result. Let me know if you need me to define any other words for you.
  20. I have been in too many Huttball matches with DPS blindly smashing each other in the middle the whole time just to see 'l33t DPS numbers" instead of tactically thinking about how to score to take this seriously.
  21. I hope I am never on your team if you think this...if we are in Huttball and you care more about high DPS numbers than outscoring the other team, you are a bad PvP player.
  22. If you would have replied to this saying "I am sorry I acted like an annoying 12 year old", I would have even begun to think about checking out your videos. Given you are still acting like an annoying 12 year old while shamelessly trying to plug a lame channel, I guarantee I will never check out your content. Congrats. Your advertising efforts did nothing but drive people away from your channel.
  23. You misread what I said. I enjoy newer gear. I enjoy better stats. I enjoy raiding, I enjoy playing the content of the game. To get to the point where I can do that, I have two options. I can either sell CM items or I can mindlessly run dailies. I enjoyed dailies the first one or two times I ran them, but now I find them extremely boring. Running dailies feels like work to me. To get the credits, gear and enhancements I need to play the parts of the game I enjoy, I would much rather spend my time IRL making money to spend on the CM than I would spending mindless hours running dailies. Obviously there is a lot that you simply have to run dailies to get, but I try to do as little as them as possible by supplementing my time with CM purchases. If I want a new mount that I don't have creds for, my time is spent much more effectively making money IRL, and then turning that into the mount via CM/GTN than it is grinding out dailies to build creds.
  24. These are fairly stupid arguments. I spend real money on the CM. CM stuff is cheap, and I make enough IRL that it isn't a big deal. I make enough money per hour in real life that it is a waste of time to farm creds to buy something off of the GTN. Farming creds to buy something off of the GTN is more often than not a waste of my time. My two options to get what I want in the game: 1. Work a single hour IRL to make the cash to buy off of the CM 2. Run dailies for several hours to build up enough creds to buy it off of GTN It is nothing short of a waste of time to buy most of what I want with credits. Time = money. You are blowing real money on pixels by spending time farming for creds (and let's face it, dailies aren't where we get the enjoyment out of this game) when you could make real money with that same time.
