  1. I just use it to recharge when I had to burst. It goes a lot faster now than is used to, and brings you back on track when you 'overspent' energy. Edit: just realised you are in a PVP context, my reply is more for PVE ops... don't mind me.
  2. I like SWTOR, and I do not see much sandbox elements in it at all ie user created content, be it crafting, or having a real impact on the game world: For example: - Theme park: you kill the bad guys in some area, few minutes later the same bad guys have respawned, nothing changed. - Sandbox: you kill the bad guys in an area, the area becomes secure for a time, and you can go there to build a house / village, grow a crop, harvest resources. Or the game will populate a different type of mobs / NPCs (ie change of faction) etc... now if someone wants to point an actual sandbox feature of this game, I'll be happy to be proven wrong.
  3. I also just got a lvl 50 a week or so ago. Played since release, tried a lot of different classes. and yes, once at lvl 50, there's dailies (I find that boring) and operations, which you can only do so much of. I am not into LFG for Hard Mdoes, or PVP, so happy to keep levelling alts between operations, also looking forward to 1.2 to develop my cybertech skills a bit.
  4. as a healer I had no problem on Voss, levelling again as a dps I am curious to see if I will hit the brick wall mentioned by the OP. I'd hate to skip Voss, because I would probably have to spend more time in Corelia... and that would be bad for my mental health. Edit: actually, thinking about it I did notice some furious chain agro in the nightmare area where you'd have to fight 3 groups of mobs if not careful. Wiped a couple of times like that, and thought 'ok this is getting interesting'
  5. I don't mind travelling, especially if there is an exploration element and some danger involved. none of that here... it's multiple zoning, clicking on a door or a lift button, run a little, click, zone, loading screen to spaceship, click on door, zone again etc... It's not quality gameplay. Travelling from Qeynos to Butcherblock in EQ1 was an adventure, took me 2 days, grouped with a number of people on the way to get past some hard spots, and never felt boring. Yes I agree the timesink that EQ1 was would not work nowadays, but I am with the OP re boring 'travelling' in TOR. As far as exp goes, if anything I find the levelling too fast in this game. I would not mind if it was a bit (reasonably) more difficult than it is now. What I do mind is repetitive boring actions that are time consuming.
  6. Considering how almost unexistent the death penalty is, the fact that you will die means that you have a challenge to overcome, and that you are not being spoonfed exp and loot just facerolling easy stuff. I understand some people don't want the effort or the challenge, they just want the rewards.
  7. I'd love a droid mini game where you can take control of a random player's ship droid! Endless possibilites...
  8. Same thing in PVE in a group of 3 mobs, it will often go from mob 1 to mob 2... then 1 then 2, and I need to click on mob 3 if I want to target it, because next target will never do it for me. A small issue, but the repetition makes it really annoying.
  9. Knowing that your character would leave a corpse behind, with all your gear on it, and that you would have to run back to it naked to loot your own stuff... was bringing something close to fear to the players. A failed raid could mean hours of corpse recovery, and multiple deaths (with exp loss) on the way. (Everquest 1) Driving a tank for up to an hour, to get to the front line in WWII Online, knowing that a well placed anti tank gun or a bomb, or even a sneaky sappper could one shot you... (WWIIOL, aka Battleground Europe) Yes fear of death is possible in a video game... just not popular.
  10. At first I thought.. oh no this would be bad. But reading more and thinkig about it, I changed my mind. here would be my suggestions: - New soloable content for player + 2 or more companions. Flashpoints however should still have a group version with better rewards chences at equivalent level. I like the idea of presence gear rewards, and affection gains too. Let's get the crew out of the cupboard! - Heroic 4 quests, many, especially at high level will have to be tuned into Heroic 2... doable with companions. When there's 7-15 people on Voss or Corellia, finding 3 of them to join you for a heroic is a pita. - Scaleable instances, that you can run solo or 2 or 3 players + companions would be great as well. A sliding reward scale to match it of course. So if it's late and it's just me and a friend or two we can still do some fun and rewarding group content. - Multiple specs for each character, not even as much as what Rift allows, just 2 specs. This would give the option for healers and tanks to also have a dps spec. It would certainly help forming groups. How many times have we been in need of a healer, and the only commando around says.. sorry I am dps spec. Or a tank, and there just a Shadow who's also dps spec. - LFD tool, hopefully not cross server to preserve a 'quality' in players behavior as they are accountable to their reputation on the server. - Allow people to port back to the planet side shuttle of their choice after they finish a run... Shuttles to Fleet are great. You still have to get to the shuttle, so some minimal effort. But the trip back to resume your activities in unnecessarily long, and makes grouping an inconvenience.
  11. That's where I found him, Right next to a PVP console, and the Nar Shadaa bonus NPC if I remember well. Not sure what the conditions are for you to get the quest, if it is level based, or you need to have finished your class quest for this planet, or the main planet quest line.
  12. mistakes were made. but this is not the end yet In before thread is closed by zealous moderator.
  13. they don't "have to" they decide to. big difference.
  14. Grats to the OP not only for doing this, but also being willing to share your experience. My interest is in PVE, and specifically the abiltiy to solo hard mobs (Champions of equal or similar level to my character) while levelling. Which classes did you find where best for this job? Does it vary at low / mid / max level? I have had more luck with Sorcerer+Khem so far, and healers in general, but I beg to be wrong.
  15. Same problem of the disappearing wookie here. He showed up once on my ship (in a corridor, didn't seem like a normal crew spot) for a conversation, and then never again after that!
  16. Yes done all the running around and class quest progressed The wookie showed up on my ship once, then no more Made a ticket, which was closed with a standard reply. Also grouped with another Scoundrel yesterday who has teh exact same problem
  17. Yes and that's very easy to say when you are not the one worst affected...
  18. My Wookie companion disappeared shortly after I left Nar Shadaa, and I am left using 2 companions (Corso and the Droid) when I should have 3. This is painfull, I was looking forward to having another companion, for questing and crafting. It seems to affect a few Smugglers, not sure if all of them, at least on my server. I am lvl 30 now and still no sign of the wookie. It's not quite game breaking, but I find it ironic that one of the few points of difference of this game, one that has a good amount of the gameplay built around (both for combat and craft) can be that broken, some months after release.
  19. Maintenance of 8 hours is a lot, you compare this to 12 or 8 years ago... let's look at more recent game like RIFT. Their maintenance downtime? Very little, 1 hour if I remember well? The downtime is right into the peak time for Oceanic players (Australia / NZ) Yes I can do something else one day a week, but then why should I pay the same as someone who can play 7 days...
  20. Change look : oh yes! Everything including body type. Change sex or class... no, I would prefer if that was not an option. As it is the core of your character.
  21. All the people who say no... what are you doing here? shouldn't you have moved to greener pastures already? have the courage of you opinion and move on... please. Personally I enjoy the game it is far from perfect but I am having fun
  22. as an Imperial, farming the scavenging nodes near the dark temple in Dromund kas netted me a ot at teh AH selling Laminoid. And there is always the odd chance of a juicy Orange from one of the 2 champions there
  23. Khem is fine, at lvl 44 I went back to him as my main companion, after using Andronikos for a bit. Andro is good but takes too much damage on elites. The only problem I have with Khem is that he is too bulky and I click him by accident all the time when trying to loot / harvest!
  24. Because there is absolutely no challenge and it's really boring to mow grey mobs? I enjoy the quests when they are at my level or near. When I actually have to think how I am going to handle a pull, watch for a patrol etc... not that the game is rerally hard in that regard. But once the quests turn green or grey it's really trivial, you can just roll through anything, and what is the enjoyment in doing that?
  25. I am on my 6th Alt and don't have a problem I just focus on different planets, and just do the class quest on others, do crew skills as well, or mor flaspoints... etc.
